Laurel Canyon is a 2002 American drama film written and directed by Lisa Cholodenko.

The movie tells the story of Sam, a young doctor, and his fiancée Alex, a Ph.D. student, who move into his mother's house in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles. Sam's mother, Jane, is a free-spirited record producer who's recording an album with her British boyfriend, Ian, and his band. As Sam and Alex navigate their relationship, they're exposed to Jane's unconventional lifestyle, leading to a series of events that challenge their values and relationship.
