00:00Record-breaking skydiver Felix Baumgartner is dead at 56 years old.

00:05The fearless sportsman is known for his iconic stunts,

00:08including his free fall from space,

00:10where he jumped to Earth from the stratosphere back in 2012.

00:14I almost weigh twice the weight that I normally have,

00:17and it's very difficult to do a perfect exit.

00:19Do not over-rotate, because if I start over-rotating,

00:23there's no air that you can use to slow down.

00:31On the jump, Felix landed in New Mexico as part of the Red Bull Stratos project.

00:46According to the Associated Press, the daredevil died on July 17th

00:49in a paragliding accident in Italy,

00:52with local officials saying he crashed into the side of a hotel pool.

00:55On Instagram, Red Bull released a statement of their grief that reads,

01:00We are shocked and overwhelmed with sadness

01:02to hear the devastating news of our longtime friend, Felix Baumgartner.

01:06Felix was born to fly and was determined to push the limits.

01:10He was also smart, professional, thorough, and meticulous,

01:14never leaving anything to chance.

01:15He was generous, giving much of his time to helping and inspiring so many people.
