Hard Rock Cafe: The Spicy Burger that is ROCKING Manchester

We went down to the Hard Rock Cafe to talk to the team there about their best-selling spicy burger that has been curated by the chefs and has been lighting the city on fire.

00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name's Theo Houston Betts and we have something very

00:02exciting lined up for you today. Another lovely sunny day here in Manchester because I'm going

00:07into the Hard Rock Cafe. Now music has obviously been the focus of the last couple of weeks with

00:11Oasis but we're actually here today to talk about their special Manchester burger. We're going to

00:16talk to one of the managers here, understand a little bit about what makes this burger special

00:20to Manchester and we're going to see whether or not it's been a success. Let's go in and hopefully

00:24give it a try too. So they can expect an authentic experience. We are a fusion of American dining,

00:30mixed with a celebration of music based in one of the greatest cities in the UK. So having a cafe

00:34here in Manchester to celebrate the musical culture that we have, the food offerings that we can give

00:39and the Mancunians that we employ here to give that experience makes complete sense. So we've got a

00:44wide choice of memorabilia from the 60s, 70s, 80s all the way up to modern day. Everything on the

00:49wall is exactly what it says it is. It's authentic, it's real and it's some of the coolest pieces of

00:54memorabilia that we have in the company. So every year Hard Rock does a world burger tour which gives

00:58our chefs and our staff the opportunity to create a new burger to go on our menu to sell to our to our

01:03guests. So this year for Wild World Burger Tour entry we've created our firecracker burger which

01:08is a really succulent spicy burger created by the chefs right here at Hard Rock Manchester. Created

01:14to celebrate the fiery nature of Mancunians and everything which is spicy about the city. We've got

01:20two smash patties on there, we've got fresh jalapenos, we've got homemade chipotle ketchup and a lovely cool

01:26mayonnaise to go on the bottom. All of it is made authentically in-house by our chefs for you guys

01:31to enjoy. So far it is our actual best-selling burger in the cafe. We are currently the best seller

01:36in Europe as well which is kudos to the team for really promoting it. It sells itself if you like

01:40your spicy food, if you like strong flavours this is definitely the burger for you. So I've got the

01:45burger in front of me now and as you can see it is a bit of a monster actually. I can smell the

01:53spice coming off it. It looks like there's a deep-fried jalapeno on top of it which I will put myself

01:58through the pain of eating. I'll give you a bit of a closer look. You can tell how spicy that is

02:03already. Fresh jalapenos on the top. No point messing around eh? Let's get into it.

02:11Wow. Well it's certainly a messy eating experience and it is hot but it is lovely. Really well-balanced heat.

02:29Enough to sort of punch you in the back of the throat but not enough that you're reeling for a couple of

02:33minutes afterwards. I will be going back in and finishing this with no trouble at all. It is a

02:38great burger and it does feel like it represents Manchester. As you know

02:41northerners we're always trying to prove that we're tough and this burger will

02:45give you the opportunity to do that. So come down to Harbrook Cafe, give it a try and
