#LosAngeles #BBCNews At least 20 people have been injured after a vehicle drove into a crowd on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Up to five people have been critically injured and up to 10 are in a serious condition, the emergency services said.
The incident happened at 02:00 local time (09:00 GMT) in East Hollywood.

00:26Now, we understand that of the 20, at least 45 have been described as being in a critical condition, 8 to 10 serious and 10 to 15 in a fair condition.
00:39A short while ago, a fire department official was speaking to local press and said some of those injured were speaking.
00:46They had been transferred to local hospitals.
00:49The area itself does have access to a number of hospitals.
00:53We also understand that the car, hopefully we can show you that in a moment, is a small grey car that mounted the pavement or what's known as the sidewalk and then collided with people that had been queuing to enter a musical venue on the sidewalk.

01:18It's very popular with young people.
01:21It's a mixture of residential and commercial spaces.
01:24And East Hollywood is a densely populated area.
01:28Lots of bars, lots of restaurants, lots of coffee shops and parks as well.
01:33So what we know then so far is that around 20 people have been injured following a traffic incident.

01:51And we understand the exact location was outside a musical venue where people were queuing to gain access to the venue.
