WNBA players are left frustrated and believe latest negotiations over pay dispute are 'disrespectful'
Transcript
00:01This was kind of like a first draft
00:02and so both sides are going to come with the highest of what they, you know,
00:07I guess their lowest or highest of what we're looking for.
00:10And so again, I think it was just a good meeting ground
00:14because when you're going back and forth to contracts with lawyers,
00:16it's like texting a lot, it can get lost in translation.
00:18To hear face-to-face, I think they understood even more like what we're asking for
00:22and so hopefully that is exemplified in the next round of contracts.
00:26Obviously women's basketball is skyrocketing
00:28and it's important for us to get what we want now but not just now but for the future as well and
00:33it's it's it's really nice to have vets that may not be playing for 10 more years but they are
00:39speaking for us because they know how important it is right now it was great for us to show
00:44as a collective like as players how important that meeting was to us it was like over 40
00:50people in that room and i was like i mean historic for cba negotiations um but i don't think
00:57there definitely wasn't an a point a point where we agreed and we were coming to meet sides i think
01:03there's a lot more that we want as players and that we're going to try to demand um and we don't
01:10want to sound ungrateful for all the stuff that the wmba provides but we think as much as we sacrifice
01:16our bodies our minds our time our effort um we just feel like like we we play a huge part in this as
01:23well and we feel like we should be rewarded for that and we feel like there's some things that
01:26that we deserve as players who are a huge part of this league
