Three deputies were killed in a deadly explosion on Friday (July 18) at the Biscailuz Center Academy Training facility in East Los Angeles.

They were Detective Joshua Kelley-Eklund, Detective Victor Lemus, and Detective William Osborn who were all assigned to Special Enforcement Bureau’s Arson Explosives Detail.

00:00Three deputies were killed in a deadly explosion on Friday morning at a police training facility

00:08The blast occurred shortly after 7.30 a.m. at the Biscay Luce Center Academy training
00:14facility in East Los Angeles.
00:16Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna described the incident as the largest loss of life for
00:21the department in over 160 years.
00:24This is, unfortunately, the largest loss of life for us as the LA County Sheriff's Department
00:32since 1857.
00:35Between all three sworn members, they had served our community proudly for 74 years, and that's
00:43amongst all three of them collectively, 19 years, 22 years, and 33 years.
00:51The three deputies who died were Detective Joshua Kelly Eklund, Detective Victor Lemus, and
00:56Detective William Osborne, who were all assigned to Special Enforcement Bureau's Arson Explosives
