00:00Five-party negotiations on the Cyprus problem concluded on Thursday without resolving key
00:07disputes. However, participants agreed to continue discussions under the guidance of
00:12the United Nations. The informal talks between the Greek and Turkish Cypriot leaders and
00:18representatives from Greece, Turkey and the UK produced no agreement on reopening crossing
00:22points between the island's two parts. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has scheduled
00:28additional meetings for September. There's a long road ahead and it is important to think about what
00:34the future can mean for all Cypriots. But these steps clearly demonstrate the commitment to
00:42continuing the dialogue on the way forward and working on initiatives that benefit all Cypriots.
00:50Following the conference building measures announced in Geneva, the talks produced three
00:54new measures, establishing an advisory body for civil society participation, exchanging cultural
01:00artifacts and monitoring air quality while addressing microplastic pollution.
