00:59Next up on News Bites, one of our regular features where we take a fresh look at people who were once in the headlines.
01:07The question today is Herman Wonk. Where is he now?
01:12I know where he is.
01:15Ow! Watch it there.
01:17Herman Wonk is here, inside the new Melvindale Federal Prison, still under construction.
01:24Our Gerald Prattle recently spoke with Wonk.
01:27Gerald?
01:29Mr. Wonk, what is it like for you living behind bars?
01:32I'll let you know when I get some.
01:34Hey, we're working on it.
01:37This is what you get when you go with the lowest bidder.
01:39Herman Wonk used his scientific genius to create teeny-weeny, eensy-beensy robots that were capable of building more teeny-weeny, eensy-beensy robots.
01:48They merged with Wonk's body to create the Herminator, a robot-human combination that out-roboed RoboCop.
01:55Then, predictably, the unexpected happened.
01:59Wonk's nanochips mutated, developing their own intelligence.
02:04They became a bomb, which even the Herminator couldn't defuse.
02:07Seeing the error in his ways, the Herminator used the last of his power to divert the zoom train that contained the bomb to a watery grave.
02:15Today, at that same lake, real adventure gives way to make-believe.
02:30I'm here live with hot young director, Timmy Smirk, as he prepares to shoot next summer's blockbuster monster movie, Nessie.
02:39Hey, aren't they gonna talk more about me?
02:42Aw, too bad, Wonk. Guess you used up your 15 minutes of fame, eh?
02:54Timmy, tell us about Nessie.
02:56Oh, it's gonna be great. It'll be like the Nessie video game, but only with lots more stuff blowin'.
03:01A pow, boom, bang, you know? Ow!
03:02Oh, whoops.

03:54Whoa!
03:55Whoa!
03:56Is this part of the movie?
04:13No, you idiot.
04:14One for your life.
04:17Ladies and gentlemen, the Nessie monster has somehow come to life.
04:21Oh, the horror.
04:23Oh, the humanity.
04:24Oh, the ratings.
04:26This is just terrible.
04:35Is this nature's way of saying enough already with the mindless summer movies?
04:43Or is it something far more...
04:45Hey, where are you going?
04:47Oh, boy.
04:52Back to you, Fod.
04:53I have seen enough.
04:59Okay, listen up.
05:00I demand to see the warden immediately.
05:03Only I can stop that rampaging monster.
05:06Would it help if I said, please?
05:08That shopping center is in danger.
05:22We'll never get there in time.
05:24Meet me on the far side and bring a towel.
05:29Aqua jets.
05:30Miner, my readings indicate that the Sea Beast has been taken over by nanochips.
05:47I guess Herman Wong's nanotechnology wasn't completely destroyed after all.
05:53Great.
05:54Great.
05:55It's time to fish or cut bait.
06:21Missile launcher.
06:32No running on the pier.
06:34Back to me.
07:04And now, back to the show.
07:17Can you save him, Neumeier?
07:19I don't know.
07:21Otter.
07:23He wasn't in submersible mode when the police divers found him.
07:26His purge mechanism was...
07:28You did it.
07:32How long was I offline?
07:35About an hour.
07:36Where is the beast now?
07:38It was last seen headed east on Interstate 94.
07:41Straight for New Detroit, unless I stop it first.
07:44Whoa, partner. You can't tackle that thing alone.
07:47He won't be alone.
07:49Herman Wonk?
07:51Your nanochips are the cause of all this, aren't they?
07:54Yes, exactly. Which is why you need me to stop them.
07:58Look, I can use this chip to recreate my herminator suit.
08:01Where did you get that?
08:03I thought all those chips were destroyed.
08:05Hey, I only kept one.
08:07Kind of like a memento.
08:08Hey, can I see it?
08:10Well, all right.
08:11But I want it back.
08:13Cool.
08:15Come on, Robaroonie.
08:16What do you say?
08:17It'll be just like old times.
08:19You and me, shoulder to shoulder, fighting for truth and justice.
08:23Interesting suggestion.
08:24You can't be serious.
08:27Wonk's nanotechnology is unstable.
08:29For that matter, so is Wonk.
08:31Hang on, Miner.
08:32Maybe Wonk is the advantage Robocop needs to beat that thing.
08:36Uh-uh. No.
08:37Wonk shouldn't even be here.
08:39He's supposed to be in prison.
08:41The warden granted him a temporary furlough.
08:43This is an emergency.
08:45Oh, and you think that adding a goofball in a cyber suit is going to make things better?
08:49Well, after all, he knows more about those nanochips than anybody.
08:52Maybe his cyber suit is a more effective way to fight that thing.
08:55I don't care. He's a menace, and I don't want him anywhere near me or my partner.
09:00Uh, I think it's a bit late for that.
09:05This is great, isn't it, Robes?
09:08Oh, ah.
09:10Remember, Wonk, you're here as an advisor only.
09:13You are to take no direct action.
09:16Got it. Whatever you say, pal.
09:17So when do we get started?
09:19Any second now.
09:20Whoa there, mister.
09:33You can't park your car on the freeway.
09:35Let him go.
09:37We have bigger fish to fry.
09:45Surrender or there will be trouble.
09:47I call that resisting arrest.
10:13Channel R.
10:14Walk.
10:28Walk!
10:30Aaaaaah!
10:36Aaaaaah!
10:37I did it!
10:45Will this stop those chips?
10:47Absolutely!
10:49The intense heat will fuse those silicon chips into a useless, likeless lump!
10:53Unless, of course, they get a chance to mutate.
10:58First.
11:02Do you think that you can stop us?
11:05Flesh is obsolete!
11:08We will destroy you all!
11:12Do all your nanochips speak in the royal we?
11:15I didn't know they could speak.
11:24Maybe it won't come back.
11:26Optimist.
11:27Oh, no, no.
11:32I don't want to go back.
11:34I don't want to go back.
11:35You got to go back.
11:37Oh, no.
11:38I don't want to go back.
11:39I can't go back.
11:40Oh, my God.
12:10Ah, the new models have arrived!
12:34Obey the law.
12:38Welcome back, citizens.
12:40We're in Michigan Avenue.
12:45And hurry, I'm crunched for time.
12:48You're crunched, all right.
12:59And another thing about this new model,
13:02the air conditioning is totally automatic.
13:10Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
13:18Huh?
13:19Call your insurance agent.
13:34Officer requests backup.
13:50Lots of backup.
13:56I'll do what I can, Murphy, but this crazy car stuff's happening all over town.
14:01You have to let me become the Herminator. Two Robocops are better than one.
14:06Listen, Wonk. I'm no Robocop. I've worked with Robocop, and you are no Robocop!
14:14Mine is right, Wonk. We can't take the chance of your nano suit evolving into another nano monster.
14:19Actually, I've solved that problem.
14:24I've programmed the virus into Wonk's chip. It'll automatically shut down the nano chips in two hours.
14:30It's too risky. Forget it.
14:33Eh, let's hear him out, Agent Minor.
14:36Are you saying the suit will short-circuit before those chips get a chance to mutate and start thinking on their own?
14:42You got it.
14:43Brilliant, Professor Neumeier.
14:45Of course, I was going to suggest that next myself.
14:52I'm thinking, okay?
14:54Okay.
14:54Okay.
15:00Missile launch.
15:13Can't lock on. Moving too fast.
15:16Robocop, you call for backup?
15:33There are too many cars even for two of us. We have to stop them at the source.
15:37Not to worry.
15:38With this tracer, I can pinpoint all nano chip activity within a hundred mile radius.
15:45Missile launcher.
15:49Or we could just go to the factory where all these cars were built.
15:53Yeah, well, uh, that works too.
15:56Wait. Put me down, Wong.
16:23Hermit!
16:23We've been expecting you, Robocop.
16:43You are a bonus.
16:45Robo!
17:10Are you okay?
17:40Watch your back Let's go walk
18:04Don't be in such a hurry
18:07Finger laser Time to detonation
18:25Ten seconds Let's go
18:29This will hurt
18:35Well, I think we did it that time
18:47What do you mean, we?
18:51Murphy, you're alive!
18:57Hey, it worked!
18:59We did it!
19:01What do you mean, we?
19:03I was afraid of this
19:17Mutation alert!
19:21Pathetic biological units
19:25It's assimilating all the nanometer in sight
19:31Don't forget this piece
19:33Robo-Pal?
19:35What are you...
19:37You traitor!
19:41And after all, I'm done for
19:45Say this feels good
19:53That thing will stop the city flats!
20:11Don't give it any ideas
20:13Welcome to my world!
20:21Chess panel
20:23What was that?
20:25An alarm clock
20:27And that bell means time's up, nano creep
20:31Feel strange
20:39Aw, looks like he caught a little bug
20:43Of course!
20:44The virus I programmed into Wong's nanochip
20:47Still mad at me?
21:03That's okay
21:05Well...
21:07Guess we got him that time, didn't we?
21:09What do you mean, we?
21:11This one was all yours, Herman
21:14Oh, yeah
21:16And don't you forget...
21:18Hello
21:26Don't move, citizen
21:28We'll be right back
21:30And now, back to the show
21:44Next, your favorite trio of inseparable siblings is coming at you with more zany adventures
21:51That's right, Yakko, Wacko, and their adorable sister Dot
