00:00It looks like Peter's issues with Brock just got bigger and badder.
00:04Here's your look at the Hasbro Marvel's Spider-Man Venom vs. Deluxe Venom.
00:22Kids can imagine unleashing Venomized web-slinging adventures and battles
00:26with their favorite Spider-Man heroes and villains.
00:28This collectible Marvel Deluxe Venom action figure is part of Hasbro's exclusive Epic World of Action series
00:34and features the classic look to Venom with some terrifying snap-on wings.
00:39I guess Brock's with a feather will still flock together? That's stupid.
00:43Before, though, we look at the wings, those things that snap onto the back of his body.
00:47We're going to take as well the tape measure and see how tall the figure stands.
00:49Now, one would make, I'm sure, the assumption that this is Brock using the exact same body as the Venom we've looked at before.
00:55The head, the arms, and the legs are all the same.
00:57They've designed, though, a brand new torso piece. We're going to talk about that in a second.
01:01Back, though, to the tape measure, it's going to tell us that this Venom's going to stand taller than the Spidey's.
01:06He's four inches in height, about 10 centimeters tall.
01:09I guess before we compare the wall crawler, that size up the symbiotes.
01:13Yeah, here's what he looks like with the original Venom.
01:15So, in this case, the heads are the same.
01:17The arms, yeah, and the lower legs.
01:20Completely different torso.
01:21And different deco, too.
01:22Here's also what the figure looks like with the symbiote suit Spider-Man.
01:25And just before that, we also looked at the classic look of Spidey, too.
01:29The first Venom that we looked at came with one of these things.
01:32This new Venom doesn't come with one of these things, but what he does have instead is some snap-on wings.
01:37The figure's wings, though, are the one little bit of assembly that's required when you get this figure out of his plastic prison.
01:42It actually consists of three parts.
01:44You get yourself a backpack piece, and this will basically just attach onto the back of his body.
01:49Take note, though, that the figure does have a peg right here.
01:52Take note, as well, if you look on the back of Venom's body, he has a hole right here.
01:56If you're matching up, though, the simple shapes...
01:58Now, when you are putting this on, you can choose to have either the backpack higher up,
02:03which I think looks a little more like an eyesore.
02:05It just adds unnecessary bulk on the back of his body.
02:08The better thing, instead, is to actually twist this around and clip it just like that.
02:13So you can have Venom really always displayed without the wings if you want.
02:16It's a really nice use of this metallic blue.
02:19It's kind of a cross between purple, a little bit of blue, a whole lot of cool.
02:23Then you get yourself these wings.
02:25Now, the wings, how they work is you get these little...
02:28Well, they have clamp pieces, and if you look on them,
02:31and we'll just show you guys what both look like here,
02:34but one doesn't say left or right, but once, really, that you plug this on the back of his body,
02:37you already kind of know which way they're going to go.
02:39The first time that I snapped on these wings,
02:41I just made the assumption that you wouldn't be able to take them off.
02:43Yet, though, if you clip them in place, they easily...
02:47I say easily.
02:48They do untap quite easily, too.
02:50Like, it doesn't feel like the plastic's that kind,
02:53where after a while, this plastic will, I'm sure, break.
02:56No, it does seem like they attach and detach quite easily,
03:00even though if, you know, hopefully line up everything.
03:03There's a little slot right here, which I'm not really sure what purpose it serves.
03:06Maybe it's just allowing a little bit of air to get in there,
03:08just to help free the wings a little bit better.
03:10Anyways, though, you basically just take the wings,
03:13snap them on the back of Venom's body, just like that,
03:16making sure, of course, it lines up.
03:19Why are we having such a hard time?
03:20There we go.
03:21Snapping on the back of his body,
03:22and now Venom has these giant wings.
03:25These wings are super cool.
03:27And the thing that's neat, though, about them is
03:29they look finished on this side,
03:31so you would think, okay, that's the way that the mold was pressed.
03:34It's going to look unfinished on the other side.
03:35No, actually, they look just as good on this side.
03:38This, by the way, would be the show side of the wings,
03:40so you'd like to hope that they would be sculpted just as well.
03:43I do like that they have, like, the little veins,
03:47I guess the little parts that hold the wings kind of together
03:49if he's flapping these things.
03:51But, yeah, again, at any given point,
03:53if you don't really like the look of these,
03:54these can just easily be detached.
03:56You leave them off altogether, really, if you want.
03:58Now, whereas the other Venom would have had
04:00at least the symbiote symbol painted on the back,
04:03this Venom doesn't have that.
04:04So, unfortunately, it does have to lose a little something
04:07in order to accommodate that winged backpack.
04:10He does have at least something sculpted on the front,
04:13although it's not really, I'm sure, a symbol of a Spidey.
04:16It actually kind of looks more like a scorpion,
04:20maybe like a cross between a scorpion.
04:22I see some claws there on the top.
04:23I know it's like a Rorschach.
04:24You're looking at this,
04:25trying to figure out what that inkblot's supposed to look like.
04:27When I look at this,
04:28I think of like a tailless scorpion.
04:31Hey, they could have really also added a scorpion tail
04:33to go all the way.
04:34Maybe that's, now that I think about it,
04:36maybe you didn't want to have a tail
04:38going all the way down to the bottom.
04:40The coloring, though, looks fantastic on this Venom.
04:42I like that it's also different, too.
04:43They chose not just to mold this all in the same black plastic
04:46and slapped on some wings,
04:48even though, really, the head is exactly the same
04:50and same as well for the arms.
04:52Lower legs are exactly identical.
04:54At least they sculpted a brand new torso
04:56and molding it in the plastic that they chose.
04:59Gives Venom a little bit more character.
05:01Yeah, the head sculpt's going to be exactly the same.
05:02It still has the tongue sticking out the way that it is.
05:05But the metallic purplish blue that they've used,
05:08boy, that plastic looks shiny.
05:10They've also added some additional sculpting there
05:12on the tops of his shoulders,
05:13so the original Venom would have not had that.
05:15Venom would have only had just these little
05:17sticking out symbiote strands on his shoulders,
05:19while the Venom would have had it on this one.
05:21He does also have all this new sculpting along the top.
05:25And also, if you look at the torso,
05:26the torso originally would have been smooth here.
05:29They've now added all this cool veinage
05:32on the back of his body.
05:33You can also see it on the front there as well.
05:35So there's a brand new torso piece
05:37that had to be used here for Venom.
05:39Well, again, like really all the rest of it,
05:40it's just the same mold.
05:41Right down, actually,
05:42if you look at the hands here for Venom,
05:44the little rectangle piece would have been sculpted.
05:47They still have them actually there.
05:48If you look at it really closely,
05:50you can make out,
05:51there's the rectangle right there.
05:52The only thing that they haven't done
05:53is they haven't painted it in white.
05:55And I don't mind that they don't use,
05:57I don't expect them to use a brand new mold.
05:59If they have to bore over body parts
06:01from another Venom,
06:02that we get a Venom that looks this interesting.
06:04I don't mind, again,
06:05like you get the same arms,
06:06and again, you get the same lower legs.
06:08The sculpting, again,
06:09looks just as good on the original Venom.
06:10If you like, though, the blue,
06:11the blue works really well on the figure,
06:13whether you want to display the figure
06:14without his wings or not.
06:16Because he is using the same body,
06:17he's using the same poseability.
06:19Head's going to be on what seems to be on a ball joint.
06:22So yeah, you rotate the head all the way around.
06:24It's one of those things, too,
06:25that the way they've angled the head,
06:27I guess really isn't a ball joint,
06:29it's more of a peg joint,
06:30but the way they've angled the head,
06:31when you rotate his head,
06:33it rotates on an angle,
06:34as opposed to looking back and forth.
06:36As you see, it turns,
06:38it turns and it looks more up.
06:39Does that make any sense?
06:41I hope that makes some sense.
06:42As for his arms,
06:43they rotate all the way around.
06:44You can easily bring those arms out,
06:46despite having so much stuff
06:48being occupied by the top of his torso.
06:50He still manages to pull off
06:51somewhat a successful T-pose,
06:54or 90-degree angle bend.
06:55He does also have a swivel in his arm
06:57that allows an elbow bend back and forth.
07:00He loses it, unfortunately.
07:01He doesn't have anything in the wrist.
07:03He doesn't have anything in the waist.
07:04I don't really feel like he needs it either.
07:06He has a ball joint in the legs,
07:07so he can hinge those joints out.
07:09You can take the legs,
07:10move them forward,
07:11move them back.
07:12A little bit of a swivel
07:13at the top of the thigh,
07:14not by much, though.
07:16However, though,
07:16you can rotate the lower legs,
07:17and there's a knee bend there, too.
07:19This Venom,
07:20I'm just going to go back
07:21and look at him again.
07:22Yeah, from what I remember,
07:23he does.
07:23He has a really loose lower leg.
07:26Somehow, this Venom
07:26not only has adopted the same mold,
07:28but he also adopts
07:29the same looseness and leg.
07:30It's not as loose as the other Venom,
07:32but it seems like there's a start of it.
07:34The figure does also have
07:35pegels in the bobs of his feet, too,
07:36which really do come in handy.
07:38Because the figure doesn't already
07:39have a stand dedicated to him,
07:41the moment you add wings like this
07:43on the back of his body,
07:44I want to make sure we've got it angled,
07:45we've got it facing the right way,
07:46when you plug the wings in place,
07:48that's going to clearly cause conflict
07:50with having the figure standing.
07:52It's going to make him very back heavy,
07:54so you may want to angle his body
07:55further forward.
07:57Kind of angle it more this way,
07:58so that he's not going to fall backwards.
08:00But again, if you're having issues
08:01displaying this guy,
08:02you can always really go
08:03with a display stand.
08:04I'm just grabbing a display stand here
08:05from McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse.
08:08It works the exact same way,
08:09so we just plug it onto his feet,
08:11put him on the display,
08:13and now you're not going to have
08:14any worries whatsoever
08:15of this guy falling over.
08:16This guy's going to be
08:17a little bit more expensive,
08:18so this Venom set me back
08:19around $14,
08:21maybe a little over $14.
08:22I feel like he was like $14.99.
08:24The deluxe version of Venom
08:25gets more closer
08:26into the mid-20s.
08:28He was sitting,
08:29I think, around $25,
08:30$24.99 or $25.
08:32That's not bad.
08:33That's not bad,
08:33considering that already
08:34Brock was a big build of body
08:36to start off with.
08:38Then you incorporate the wings,
08:39so again,
08:39while he doesn't have,
08:40again,
08:40this little accessory web piece,
08:42the little web weapon
08:43that he had before,
08:44he has at least enough bulk
08:46in the plastic,
08:47I think,
08:47to justify the price
08:48that they're selling him for.
08:49Again,
08:50we'll just bring in
08:50the other Venom figures,
08:51the Venom versus figures,
08:52Spider-Man,
08:53symbiote suits Spider-Man,
08:54and of course Venom.
08:55I don't really have enough space
08:56right now
08:57to bring in Venomsaurus Rex,
08:58but I like this line quite a lot.
09:00It's, again,
09:01a price that's affordable enough
09:02that if you're going into a store,
09:04like a Walmart,
09:05for example,
09:05and you're going in there
09:06to shop for something else,
09:07if you're one of those
09:08adult collectors,
09:09I do this myself,
09:10I'll say,
09:11I'll be right back,
09:12and I know when I'm shopping
09:13with a person,
09:13they always are thinking aloud,
09:15okay,
09:15you're off to the toy section,
09:16and sure enough,
09:17that's where I went.
09:18While they were shopping
09:19for more things
09:19that we needed around the house,
09:21I was going down the toil
09:22and seeing what I could add
09:23to the cart.
09:24I ended up finding this Venom
09:25for, again,
09:25a pretty good price.
09:27He's a little bit more expensive
09:28than the basic class
09:29of Venom versus figures,
09:30but I think if you're able
09:31to find him,
09:32he's a fun Venom
09:32to have on your shelf.
09:34Follow me along
09:34as I go further down the route
09:35while collecting
09:36these Venom versus figures.
09:38Seriously,
09:38is there an end in sight?
09:40Well,
09:40there are a few still figures
09:41I haven't had the chance
09:41to find,
09:42like the Armored Spider-Man
09:43or the Gwen Stacy,
09:45for example,
09:45Spider-Gwen.
09:46I don't know where
09:47those things are.
09:47Maybe they're just
09:48a lesser quantity,
09:49maybe there's less of them
09:50per case,
09:51and they're being scooped up
09:52right away by collectors.
09:53At least that these
09:54are an affordable price,
09:55that collectors and kids alike
09:56can be collecting them,
09:58$14,
09:58about $14 to $15
09:59per the basic figures.
10:01If you want the more
10:02elaborate looking Venom here,
10:03this will set you back
10:04more of the $25 price.
10:05At least,
10:06though,
10:06this Venom was readily available.
10:08Whereas there was only
10:09just a single facing
10:10of the basic figures
10:12on the pegs,
10:13there was probably about
10:13five or six of these
10:15Venoms on the shelf.
10:16I don't know if that means
10:17that nobody's really
10:17buying them.
10:18I certainly was interested
10:19enough to buy them.
10:20Yes,
10:20there is some mold
10:21being borrowed over
10:22from the original one,
10:23like the limbs more so,
10:24and the head.
10:25You get a brand new body,
10:27you get,
10:27of course,
10:27the back of the body
10:28that has to have the hole,
10:29and then you get these
10:30very large,
10:30menacing-looking wings.
10:32It's all done
10:33in now a different
10:33metallic blue-purple.
10:35It's a little bit different
10:35than the black Venom
10:36that we've gotten before.
10:37I like that it's,
10:38again,
10:39a different color of plastic.
10:40This is at least a color
10:42that you could believe
10:43to be Venom.
10:44They didn't go crazy
10:45and stupid
10:45by choosing a color
10:47like a red or a yellow.
10:48That doesn't work for Venom,
10:50but this purple certainly does.
10:52Whether you want to have
10:52the figure displayed
10:53with or without the wings,
10:54whether you want to even
10:55keep the backpack on,
10:56and the wings can be
10:56detached easily enough.
10:58I don't know how many times
10:59you're really going to want
10:59to be able to do that,
11:00but I haven't had any problems
11:02knock-on plastic
11:03where the wings seem like
11:05they're starting to develop
11:05fracture marks
11:07or stress marks.
11:08Yeah,
11:08all in all,
11:09though,
11:09even though he's going to be
11:10a little bit more expensive
11:11than the basic class Venom
11:12by,
11:12what,
11:13like $8 more?
11:14I'm just doing the math
11:15in my head right now.
11:16Maybe about $8,
11:17$9 more.
11:18That's not bad
11:18for a Venom
11:19that looks this cool.
11:20What do you guys think
11:21of the Venom
11:21versus deluxe Venom
11:23that comes in clue
11:23with the wings?
11:24Would you see yourselves
11:25picking this one up
11:26over the basic Venom?
11:27Which one do you think
11:28is a better looking figure?
11:29Even though,
11:29again,
11:29like I know,
11:30a lot of the same mold
11:31got carried over.
11:32If you guys are also
11:33interested to grab this
11:34for yourself,
11:35you should be able
11:36to find it easily enough
11:37in retail stores
11:37or online.
11:39I've so far
11:39knocked on,
11:40well,
11:40knock on wood,
11:41we're knocking on
11:41the tabletop here.
11:43I've luckily been able
11:44to find most of these
11:45in the stores.
11:46If I do want to try
11:46to get the remaining
11:47ones of this set,
11:49like the Spider-Gwen
11:50and the Armor Spider-Man,
11:51maybe I might try
11:52to venture onto Amazon
11:53and see if they're
11:53available there.
11:54If you guys did
11:55enjoy this video,
11:56you can do it a solid
11:57and throw it a like.
11:58You guys want to stick
11:58around for more?
11:59So,
11:59I hope so.
12:01This isn't,
12:01by the way,
12:01the end.
12:02No,
12:02it's not.
12:03A Venom versus figures.
12:04There's actually
12:04a deluxe Spider-Man
12:05that we're going to be
12:06looking at in an
12:07upcoming review.
12:08I hope you guys
12:08are going to be
12:09joining me for that.
12:10As always,
12:10thanks for watching.
12:11See you guys next time.
