00:00Next year will be our last season. The network will be ending The Late Show in May.

00:09A brave face on Stephen Colbert. One day after learning The Late Show was on its final run,

00:17with the late night franchise effectively canceled at CBS.

00:21I'm not being replaced. This is all just going away.

00:24I do want to say that the folks at CBS have been great partners.

00:27I'm so grateful to the Tiffany Network for giving me this chair and this beautiful theater to call home.

00:34In a statement on July 17th, Paramount calling this purely a financial decision

00:39against a challenging backdrop in late night.

00:42It is not related in any way to the show's performance or other matters happening at Paramount.

00:49And I am extraordinarily, deeply grateful to the 200 people who work here.

00:55We get to do this show.

00:59We get to do this show for each other, every day, all day.

01:04And I've had the pleasure and the responsibility of sharing what we do every day with you in front of this camera for the last 10 years.

01:11And let me tell you, it is a fantastic job.

01:13I wish somebody else was getting it.
