00:00My first question is to all of you, were you surprised reading the script by the bold choices made by the screenwriters Jennifer Samlansky?
00:08Absolutely.
00:09They're amazing.
00:10They're incredible.
00:11And they're fun. I think there's so much humor in this movie, which it's a sign of intelligence.
00:17And I think that is shown throughout the way people are killed, the jokes that are made, how they're relevant to the time of which we're making this film.
00:24And how they're also callbacks to the original as well, sort of blending the 90s in with 2025.
00:30I think the bold choices were surprising, but not at the same time, because watching Jennifer's previous projects, I kind of knew the filmmaker, the type of filmmaker she is.
00:41Absolutely.
00:42There was also a lot of nods and tributes to slasher from the 90s.
00:46Like, Tyreek, during your scene, there's a nod to scream when you're calling your mom.
00:49I loved it.
00:50Yes.
00:51Yes. Actually, funny story about that, a moment is when the police got called because the neighbors heard me screaming.
00:59No way!
01:00You mean on the day?
01:01I keep thinking about that when I watched it. I was thinking about how loud that was.
01:05It was really...
01:06You were screaming for help.
01:07I just went for it, and they had to tell them to stand down.
01:11Wow.
01:12I love it. What do you think made the original so special? Because a lot of people compare, I know what you did to scream, but it's so different, in my opinion.
01:20And what is your favorite thing about the original? Mine is the soundtrack and the tank tops, for example.
01:26Oh, my God. The tank tops are amazing. The wardrobe is so good.
01:30It's so good.
01:31The soundtrack is great in this as well, I will say.
01:33It helps that Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze are just the most beautiful people ever, and they all went on to have the most interesting careers.
01:44I feel like that is just testament to what the filmmakers captured in A Capsule in Time in 1996, 1997.
01:52Well, they were like, all their star was like, phew, right after that. If not during.
01:58During.
01:58Absolutely. And what was your reaction when you saw the fish and the slicker for the first time?
02:04It was scary.
02:05Terrifying.
02:06It was scary.
02:06We were saying it's actually not that frightening making a film like this, usually when you're on set, because you kind of know what's happening and everyone's around you, and usually they call cut and everyone comes in and you have a glass of water.
02:18Yeah.
02:18But, but the, or something similar.
02:21But that was, I saw, I think, I'm trying to remember the first time I saw it, maybe it was like at a camera test or something, but it's really an imposing image, and I think quite an iconic image.
02:35And so I think seeing it in the flesh for the first time was exciting anyway, because you just have grown up seeing that killer, and it was sort of a bit eerie and surreal having this person stomp around.
02:51And so, yeah, it was, it was scary, right?
02:53I think the facelessness of it also makes it quite terrifying.
02:57That's true in many scary movies.
03:00I think maybe because since you don't necessarily know who it is, it feels so much more omnipresent than putting a face to the faceless.
03:10Could be anyone.
03:10Could be anyone.
03:12Exactly.
03:13I followed you on social media during all the filming, and I love to see your photos in Australia and all that.
03:20How was this, your experience, all together?
03:22It was like a friend group, and I loved it.
03:24Did you see any of Chase's TikToks by any child?
03:28Of course.
03:28Yes.
03:29Nami.
03:30Really, I made them all do TikToks.
03:33It was supposed to be a private account.
03:35They're really weird.
03:36They're not very approachable to a normal audience.
03:39Ooh, us or the TikTok?
03:40No, we are all, well, both, honestly.
03:44The content was too good, you had to get it out.
03:46You made it amazing.
03:47People need to see this.
03:48We were all, none of us have roots in Australia.
03:52I feel like all going there together, we kind of had no choice but to be immediately bonded.
03:57And also, we're working together all day, every day, and we're filming in this beautiful location.
