Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand welcome in Bihar’s Motihari as he arrived to launch his election campaign. During his visit, PM Modi is also set to inaugurate multiple development projects aimed at boosting the region’s infrastructure and growth.
00:00Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is in fact in a political rally as you can see in these pictures
00:05coming in from Bihar today where Prime Minister Modi is sounding the poll bugle.
00:12Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the state of Bihar today as you can see in these pictures.
00:18The poll-bound state essentially is where the Prime Minister is.
00:22It's a campaign launch, the BJP's campaign launch in the state of Bihar today.
00:30The Prime Minister is in the state today all set to unveil
00:59multiple airport projects at the tune to the tune of 7,200 crore.
01:06He's also going to be addressing a public function.
01:08And at Motihari, he's inaugurating and laying the foundation stone on multiple development projects.
01:16The Prime Minister has spoken about it as well.
01:18This is a public road rally that you're seeing on your screens at this point in time.
01:24He spoke about development projects worth over 7,200 crore will be dedicated to the nation
01:31where the foundation stones would be laid.
01:33This would cover, he said, our fair technology parks, four new Amrit Bharat trains, road projects and much more.
01:40He would be addressing a public function, is what we know.
01:46It's in connection with the various development projects the Prime Minister is going to be laying the foundation stone off.
01:55It caters to railway, road road development, fisheries, electronics and information technology sectors.
02:01Sounding the poll bugle in the state today, also with the commitment of the government to boost connectivity and infrastructure,
02:11the Prime Minister, a statement reads, would be dedicating to the nation multiple rail projects.
02:17This is from the Prime Minister's office speaking about various projects that are going to be inaugurated.
02:21This includes automatic signalling between areas and will enable train operations in several other sections.
02:31The Prime Minister will be laying the foundation stone for multiple rail projects for maintenance of Vande Bharat trains at Patliputra
02:41and also automatic signalling to enable streamlined train operations.
02:48In a major boost to the road infrastructure in the region, the Prime Minister would be laying the foundation stone for four-lanning of ARA bypass.
03:04Also inaugurating the new software technology parks of India, Indarbhanga and the state-of-art incubation facility at Patna.
03:15Rohit Singh is with us for the very latest on that.
03:17These are pictures from Motihari where the Prime Minister is today.
03:21Of course, Rohit sounding the poll bugle in the state with a series of development projects getting initiated.
03:27The foundation stones of the same being laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.
03:32Rohit.
03:37Well, yes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived at Gandhi Maidan in Motihari.
03:43And he has just come out of his chopper and is now moving towards the main stage where the event has been organized.
03:50And as usual, we can see him that it's like a road show which is going on in an open jeep.
03:56Prime Minister is being taken to the main dais where he will be addressing the gathering in a short while from now.
04:04And with him, we can see Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary also with him.
04:12And he is getting a rousing reception in Motihari.
04:16And this has been the case in his previous occasions also when Prime Minister has come to Bihar.
04:23And this is his fifth visit. Remember, his fifth visit to Bihar this year.
04:27And the third visit in the last 50 days.
04:30So, you can really gauge the fact from the fact that how important Bihar is for the BJP.
04:37But of course, in the BJP scheme of things, as in other parties, given that the state is poll-bound.
04:42From Motihari, Bihar, Prime Minister Modi along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
04:46Mission Jamparan, Mission Bihar.
04:48Promises have been made.
04:49This is the double-engined Sarkar you are looking at.
04:53They are focusing on their achievements.
04:55That they have been able to bring change and vikas in Bihar.
04:58And that it needs to continue.
05:00Opposition says that there has been complete lawlessness.
05:03Especially what we have seen in the past few days.
05:05But look at this.
05:06The shower of flowers.
05:08A packed crowd.
05:09Prime Minister Modi consistently returning to Bihar.
05:12To be seen with Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister.
05:15And showcase how, whether it's brand Modi.
05:17Or for Bihar brand Nitish.
05:19Or the double-engined Sarkar, that they can continue to return.
05:23This is going to be important, remember.
05:25For a state as crucial as Bihar, where you need a coalition.
05:28In the past few decades we have seen, a single party has not been able to win elections in the Bihar Assembly.
05:34So, for the NDA as much, the BJP depending on the JDU, vice versa.
05:41For the opposition as much, the Congress, RJD depending on each other as well.
05:45However, while it appears that NDA may still have an edge, opposition also has been working extremely hard.
05:54Whether it's political showdown, throwing jibes at PM Modi and Nitish Kumar.
05:59It's going to be a scathing contest in Bihar.
06:01Let's go across now to my colleague Rohit Singh for the latest on that.
06:05And remember for Bihar, it isn't just about Patna.
06:08Whether it's Motihari, whether it's the interiors, they are as important.
06:13Rohit, tell us about Motihari.
06:15Why do you think Prime Minister Modi and Nitish Kumar have chosen this specific location?
06:20And what is the itinerary looking like today?
06:26Well, see, Prime Minister has now started touring Bihar very frequently.
06:32In the last six months, we can say, this is his fifth visit to Bihar.
06:37And in the last 50 days only, we are seeing that this is the third time a Prime Minister is coming to Bihar.
06:43And Motihari, which has been the Karam Bhoomi of Mahatma Gandhi,
06:48this is where Prime Minister is presented today.
06:51And this is his fourth visit to Motihari in the last 11 years.
06:55And you can see, as the Prime Minister has arrived in Motihari,
06:58he's getting a rousing reception from the audience,
07:01from the people who are present there to attend the rally.
07:04And it's like a roadshow which is going on,
07:07as has been the case often,
07:09where the Prime Minister is being accompanied by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on one side
07:14and Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary on the other side.
07:18And he is being taken to the stage in an open jeep.
07:23And in a short while from now,
07:25Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating projects and schemes
07:29worth more than 7,000 crore rupees for the development and welfare schemes for Bihar.
07:35And remember, whenever Prime Minister is in Bihar,
07:38he is inaugurating a lot of projects
07:40and also giving new things to the people of Bihar for this development.
07:47And this is happening this time also.
07:49And interestingly, let me tell you, Pooja,
07:51this time when the Prime Minister is in Motihari and he has come to Bihar,
07:56things are a little different.
07:57Last time when he was in Siwan on 20th of June,
08:00things were different.
08:01But in the last one month or so,
08:02you can see a lot of political development as far as it has taken place.
08:07Most importantly,
08:08two things very important that have happened in Bihar in the last one month
08:11is the special intensive revision of the voter list that has started
08:15and which is like almost on the verge of a conclusion now.
08:19In the next four or five days, we will see that.
08:21That is a very important and key issue
08:23which has really raised a lot of eyebrows in Bihar opposition
08:27completely going out and attacking the election commission
08:33for trying to help the BJP in these elections.
08:38They are alleging, in fact,
08:39Ejasvi Adav, every day we are seeing that he is hitting out at the election commission
08:43raising the issue of SIR.
08:45And secondly, the increase in crime graph.
08:47In the last 20 days,
08:49you can see several incidents of murders in Bihar,
08:51in Patna as well as in neighboring districts that have taken place.
08:54So, crime and also the SIR,
08:57the two important things that are right now making headlines in Bihar.
09:01So, very interesting to see today
09:03when the Prime Minister will be addressing this gathering in Motihari.
09:06Will he make any reference to the special intensive revision that is going on?
09:11And also, what will be his take on the crime issue?
09:15Because Tejasvi Adav and Nalu Prasad have already set the agenda
09:19before the Prime Minister arrived in Motihari.
09:22Good point, good point, Rohit.
09:24Because will there be possibly a clarification that could come in,
09:27a defense for election commission from Prime Minister Modi?
09:30Because that's been a big debate, a huge controversy as well.
09:33And of course, as the opposition is gunning over lawlessness incidents,
09:38will he speak on that too?
09:40Stay on with me, Rohit.
09:41Let's dip in to the visuals on our screen.
09:43Modi, Modi, consistent chanting on the ground.
09:46Modi, Modi, Modi, Modi, Modi, Modi.
09:55Tell you, ladies and gentlemen,
09:56this is the 53rd visit to Bihar as Prime Minister for Prime Minister Modi.
10:02So, over 50 visits already to Bihar in the past few years.
10:05But even within one month,
10:07this is the second visit already of Prime Minister Modi.
10:10Projects this time will be about 7,200 crore rupees that will be announced.
10:17And this is despite, of course, we know there's been a monsoon season.
10:21We know that a lot has been happening in Bihar.
10:24But projects are going to be launched as well.
10:26I want to bring in Rohit again.
10:28Rohit, what kind of projects are you looking at this time?
10:32Again, will it be infrastructure?
10:34I hear there's going to be Amrit Bharat Express trains as well.
10:38Very crucial for Bihar.
10:39A state of migration also, as it is called.
10:42So, with this 7,200 crore rupees investment,
10:46what are we looking at?
10:47What is in it for Bihar?
10:58I'll come back to you, Rohit, in just a short while.
11:01You're looking at the Gandhi Maidhan in Motehari.
11:06This is a legendary, historic venue.
11:08The venue is very important, viewer.
11:10This was the place, as believed, in Champaran,
11:13from where Mahatma Gandhi launched the Indigo movement
11:15against the British in 1917.
11:19And therefore, that is where this big movement
11:22that we had seen in Bihar.
11:23Bihar has been a state of,
11:26whether it's rebellion, politics,
11:28political awareness and more.
11:30And of course, historical relevance as much.
11:33Whether it's as historic as the Nalanda
11:35or perhaps as recent as the freedom movement.
11:38So, therefore, specific locations that have been chosen.
