3D Models
00:07
New 3-dimensional, or 3D, models of objects in space
00:15
have been released by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory.
00:20
These 3D models allow people to view and print
00:24
examples of stars in the early and end stages of their lives.
00:28
These 3D models are based on state-of-the-art theoretical models,
00:33
computational algorithms, and observations from space-based telescopes like Chandra
00:38
that give us accurate pictures of these cosmic objects and how they evolve over time.
00:44
However, looking at images and animations is not the only way to experience these data.
00:50
The four new 3D printable models of Cassiopeia A, G292.0 plus 1.8,
00:58
and Cygnus-loop supernova remnants, and the star known as BP Tau,
01:03
let us experience the celestial objects in the form of physical structures
01:07
that will allow anyone to hold replicas of these stars and their surroundings
01:11
and examine them from all angles.
01:14
In Cassiopeia A, astronomers combined X-rays from Chandra and infrared data from the James Webb Space Telescope
01:21
to shed light on the origin of a mysterious structure they dubbed Green Monster.
01:26
This revealed new insights into the explosion that created Cassi about 340 years ago from Earth's perspective.
01:34
By creating a 3D model of the G292 system, astronomers have been able to examine the asymmetrical shape of the remnant
01:43
that can be explained by a reverse shockwave moving back toward the original explosion.
01:49
This helps them better understand this rare type of supernova explosion that contains large amounts of oxygen.
01:56
The Cygnus-loop, also known as the Veil Nebula, is a supernova remnant,
02:01
the remains of the explosive death of a massive star.
02:05
This 3D model is the result of a simulation describing the interaction of a blast wave from the explosion
02:12
with an isolated cloud of the dust and gas in between the stars.
02:16
Finally, a 3D model shows a star less than 10 million years old that is surrounded by a disk of material.
02:24
This object, called BP Tau, has flares that interact with a disk of material surrounding this infant star.
02:32
Looking at BP Tau gives us insight into our own sun billions of years ago.
02:54
When the energy is in this element, the amassade is the result of an eyes and town.
02:56
Thisел is from BP Tau.
02:57
This new image of guiding plants with the surface of the earth's presence is a good,
02:58
the same idea of the mark that focuses on the sky in the middle of the earth's presence.
02:59
It is an amazing map that it is not created in the sky in the sky in the sky.
03:00
It is a great question.
03:01
When the nuclear Orchestra uses the mark that the 온us-loop- suites,
03:03
the scale of the sky in the sky in the sky in the sky,
03:04
the exposure of the sky in the sky is the light of the sky and the sky.
03:05
That's a cool idea of the sky in the sky in the sky and the sky
03:07
light of the sky.
03:08
The bottom of the sky in the sky in the sky and the sky in the sky in the sky.
