I've been feeling very Rimbaudian lately. The translation is my own written in water, so I never did transcribe it, I just riffed it, though I suppose I can write it down if forced at gunpoint. The gifs and images I cobbled together are from myriad sources. The music is from William Basinski's Watermusic. 00:00Dawn by Artur Rambo
00:03I embraced the summer dawn.
00:08Nothing yet moved on the face of the palaces.
00:12The water lay dead.
00:16Crowds of shadows refused to leave the road to the woods.
00:21I walked, awakening the warm, brisk winds.
00:27And the stones looked on, and birds' wings soared in silence.
00:35The first venture on the path already full of fresh and pale glitterings
00:40was a flower who told me her name.
00:44I laughed at the white waterfall disheveled through the pine trees.
00:49At its silvery summit, I recognized the goddess.
00:53Then, one by one, I lifted her veils.
00:58In the path, waving my arms, in the open field where I betrayed her to the cock,
01:06in the city she fled amid the steeples and the domes,
01:10and running like a beggar on marble piers, I chased her.
01:15At the top of the road, near wood of laurels,
01:18I wrapped her in her mass of veils and felt a little of her immense body.
01:24Dawn and the child fell at the edge of the woods.
01:33When I awoke, it was noon.
