00:00Don't let the smooth taste fool you, baby.
00:02Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:04And today, we're counting down our picks for the most shocking
00:07and the most predictable crownings in the American franchise of RuPaul's Drag Race.
00:11Yes, there are spoilers.
00:22Number 5. Obvious. Jinx Monsoon.
00:25It's so wonderful to be here.
00:28It's wonderful to be anywhere, really.
00:31You know, I've been dead for quite some time.
00:35Eight previous winners returned to compete in the seventh All-Stars edition.
00:40Jinx Monsoon was the underdog on her original season.
00:43Throughout season 5, her struggles with her makeup and honing her drag aesthetic
00:47added some suspense to her eventual win.
00:49But nearly a decade afterward,
00:51she showed why she's one of the franchise's most well-rounded queens.
00:54From the start, Jinx's talents for comedy, music, and acting made her unstoppable.
00:59Trinity, Trinity, my goodness.
01:02So kind and compassionate and caring.
01:04She even let her last boyfriend down easy.
01:06She said, let's just be cousins.
01:08Her Judy Garland imitation is arguably the best Snatch Game performance of all time.
01:20And that was only week two.
01:21The final lip sync between her and Monet X Change was purely a formality.
01:25Her track record made her the obvious choice.
01:38Number five, surprising, Trixie Mattel.
01:41We've lost our clear front runner.
01:44So now the rest of us are like, oh my gosh, the likelihood of me winning has just skyrocketed.
01:49This is like your pretty friend's not going to prom.
01:52And now you're like...
01:52Winning Drag Race is almost a footnote for this cosmetics guru,
01:57YouTuber, musician, and TV star in her own right.
02:01Trixie Mattel might seem like an obvious winner on paper,
02:04but given the track records on All Stars 3,
02:06she was looking like a safer bet for third or fourth place.
02:09Ben de la Creme dominated the season like few queens before her.
02:12Then, the gag of the century happened.
02:15Ben eliminated herself midway through.
02:18I'm going home.
02:21What?
02:22What did she just say?
02:27Did she just say her own name?
02:29Then, the second biggest gag of the century happened.
02:32To decide...
02:34Who will be the top two All Stars of the season?
02:38RuPaul introduced a jury twist that saw new front runner Shangela knocked out of the finals,
02:46leaving Trixie and Kennedy Davenport to vie for the crown.
02:49I've proven that you can have a bad day and then go on to have so many good days.
02:55Me getting to the lip sync for my legacy, it feels like a victory lap.
02:58Trixie won.
02:59And the Drag Race fandom was absolutely 100% chill about it.
03:03They're all winners, Andy.
03:04Do you think that they didn't judge on talent?
03:07They just made it more like Big Brother and who they didn't like?
03:11Child, I can't get inside their head.
03:13You know, the thing is this.
03:14They do what they want to do.
03:16Number four.
03:17Obvious.
03:18Simone.
03:18Is your blood sugar low?
03:21Well, baby, do I got a drink for you?
03:24It's called Sweet Tooth.
03:25Made to make you go from uptight to just right, baby.
03:30Is your blood sugar low?
03:31Anyone who was watching this first post-COVID season live could tell you two things.
03:36It was so long, and Simone was going to win.
03:38Gottmik and Candy Muse gave her a run for her money,
03:41but Candy's inconsistent track record and Mick's respectable showing
03:44did not hold a candle to Simone's four challenge wins.
03:48Correction, I own 51% of the flag factory,
03:51and the only reason I came back is to shut it down.
03:54As of midnight tonight, I'll be tearing down the flag factory,
03:59and I'll be putting up a war factory where a war factory ought to be.
04:02Whether the season's winner would be determined by track record
04:05or a lip sync smackdown for the crown, Simone had it in the bag.
04:08Her lip sync game was just as unbeatable as her runways, acting, and comedy chops.
04:13Personified me a black angelic being.
04:15And as I turn around, you see on the back, there are two bullet holes,
04:21and I put my hands up.
04:23Don't shoot.
04:24It's not a moment.
04:25It is a movement.
04:26Number four.
04:27Surprising.
04:28Edie Oddly.
04:29I'm Edie Oddly, oddly enough.
04:31My edges stay shredded, but these tits are tough.
04:33When other girls break, I just call out their bluffs.
04:34So glue on those shoes and tighten them top.
04:36And I know I play rough, but that's how I tumble.
04:38I bend over backwards whenever I fumble.
04:40I'm giving my all to shine like RuPaul.
04:41So pardon me, bitches, if I don't see my ball.
04:44This Denver queen more than lived up to her name.
04:46Edie Oddly's drag was bizarre, always stretching the boundaries.
04:50But she was also a breath of fresh air.
04:52Baby, I'm sorry.
04:54I'm not sorry.
04:56Feeling in fire because the tables have turned.
04:59Compared to some of the recent winners, she lacked a certain level of polish and diplomacy.
05:03She was messy and edgy and confrontational.
05:05Edie was never afraid to do something daring on the runway or let her fellow competitors
05:10have it in Untucked.
05:11Silky, I'm a little pissy that you like tried to throw me under the bus because I'm quote
05:15unquote injured.
05:16When I finished our routine with my sprained ankle doing shit you could not dream of.
05:23She reminded us of old school drag race in a lot of ways.
05:26Despite being in the bottom twice, runner up Brooklyn Heights was the more likely winner
05:30of season 11.
05:31I'm on the edge with you.
05:35But Edie's lip syncs and the finale clinched it.
05:49Number three, obvious, Bob the Drag Queen.
05:52Bob the Drag Queen has a plan, the gay agenda, and it's designed by lesbians.
05:58So you know it works.
05:59There was no way anyone else was going to win this season.
06:02At least that's what Bob the Drag Queen thought.
06:04And she turned out to be right.
06:06Now you're talking my language.
06:07If you stay ready, you ain't got to get ready.
06:10By the way, Eartha, I didn't know that was you down there.
06:14From here, I couldn't tell if you were Della Reese or Luther Vandross.
06:19How good was Bob the Drag Queen?
06:21She won a maxi challenge while wearing one of the worst looks ever to disgrace the RuPaul's
06:25Drag Race main stage.
06:26I didn't have enough time to finish a Transformer outfit.
06:29So I do my backup plan.
06:30I'm like a Tron, robot-inspired character.
06:33She's a broke...
06:34Oh, yes, girl.
06:35Be careful.
06:35And I'm just like trying to move off stage without breaking a limb.
06:39Although the season 8 winner had one stumble that put her in the bottom two, the look that
06:43landed her there was actually one of her better ones.
06:45It almost seems like she was put there to lip sync against her rival Derek Barry and send
06:49her packing for story reasons.
07:12Number 3.
07:13Surprising.
07:14Jada Essence Hull.
07:15That's a question.
07:16Yeah.
07:17Yeah, and what's the answer?
07:18Look over there!
07:21Where?
07:23Jada's win was a huge surprise, and not just because it was the first crowning held over
07:27Zoom.
07:28Airing as the COVID-19 pandemic ramped up, the 12th season sticks out like a sore thumb.
07:33It's not the winner's fault.
07:34The Sherry Pie scandal and her subsequent disqualification ripped a hole in the season's
07:38narrative.
07:39But even after losing one of its finalists, the season seemed all sewn up by the time
07:43we got to the virtual finale.
07:44Fans definitely expected Gigi Goode's four challenge wins to translate to a first-place
07:48finish.
07:49Drag Race does a presidential episode, which I love.
07:54It was on the season Sharon won, on the season I won, and on the season Gigi's gonna win.
07:59They've done these two.
08:00But Jada came alive in the last half, winning two challenges in a row.
08:07RuPaul crowned her after a fantastic virtual lip-sync to Destiny's Child's Survivor.
08:12Wishing you the best, pray that you are blessed.
08:15No success, no stress, and lots of happiness.
08:18Number 2.
08:19Obvious, Sasha Colby.
08:21Is that Sasha Colby?
08:23Period.
08:24Period!
08:25Viva!
08:26Viva!
08:27Aloha, I'm Sasha Colby, former Miss Continental.
08:30I am singer, dancer, activist, and all-around goddess.
08:36From the moment she walked into the workroom, she was shutting this thing down.
08:40Should we go home?
08:41Next to Sasha Colby, even the fiercest drag queens looked like amateurs.
08:45She skated through the competition and made it look easy.
08:48If she does have a weak area in her drag, she did not show it on the season.
08:53They say God is a woman.
08:55And I am.
08:56And I'm also a drag queen.
08:58And your personal guide to life's ultimate after-party.
09:01After a while, it was almost ridiculous how high she sailed above the rest of her competitors.
09:09Mistress Isabel Brooks had it right when she called season 15 the Sasha Colby meet-and-greet.
09:13Even RuPaul was fangirling for her at one point.
09:16I'm amazed by you.
09:17I'm the f***ing queen of drag!
09:19I'm amazed by you!
09:21Number 2.
09:21Surprising, Willow Pill.
09:23Who can say where the road goes, where the day flows?
09:31If you told us the winner of this season was the first person to pull the crown out of a chocolate bar wrapper,
09:40we might believe you.
09:42It's chocolate.
09:44Season 14 was long, introduced a very weird Willy Wonka-inspired twist,
09:49and had a crowded five-queen finale.
09:52Shantae, you stay.
09:55Condragulations.
09:57You will also be moving forward to the grand finale.
10:00Willow Pill's track record was the weakest going into the end of the season.
10:04When all was said and done, she had only won a single challenge.
10:08What she did win was many fans who fell in love with her wit and vulnerability about her chronic condition.
10:13She slayed the finale, and ultimately, she jumped ahead at the right time.
10:18He hates pink people.
10:22I hate people.
10:25Number 1.
10:26Obvious.
10:27Bianca Del Rio.
10:28Who's helping you out?
10:29Well, they're all helping me out by being horrible and making me look better.
10:33She didn't suffer fools, and she never let them see her sweat.
10:37Bianca Del Rio's run on season 6 is the very model of a drag race steamroll.
10:41This New York comedy queen played to her strengths.
10:43Did you forget you were coming to court today dressed like that?
10:46You look like a damn roll of scotch tape.
10:48Well, I thought it was...
10:49You don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.
10:52She constantly generated memes and insults at an alarming rate.
10:56Let me ask you a very fair question.
10:58What do you do successfully?
11:01Quickly.
11:05Most essential to her success, it's not every queen who could essentially wear the same dress week after week and get away with it.
11:11The moment the irascible, wisecracking queen was shown to have a warm maternal side for her fellow contestants, we knew it was a done deal.
11:19Now the rest of the world will see that nicer side. Are you prepared for that?
11:22You've been filming this?
11:24There's tape in those cameras?
11:26Yeah.
11:26Oh, great!
11:28Coming into this competition, I had no intentions of mentoring any child.

11:48Number 1. Surprising.
11:50Sasha Velour.
11:50There will be twists, turns, and cliffhangers.
11:56Please don't jump.
11:58You have so much to live for.
12:01Shea Coulee went into the final round with four challenge wins, and the finale should have been her victory lap.
12:07And then, the first lip-sync smackdown for the crown happened.
12:10Though talented and witty, Sasha Velour and her intellectual brand of drag had a hard time connecting with the judges all season.
12:16Michelle Massage is so Jersey, she wanted to call her second child White Flight.
12:23Oh, well, that one worked in my mind.
12:26She all but stole the win out from under Shea when she pulled the biggest reveal stunt ever.
12:31There was no denying it.
12:32If this was a lip-sync for the crown, she won it hands down.
12:36She went on to battle Peppermint and win the whole season.
12:39It remains the most unexpected come-from-behind victory in the show's history.
12:43You're the one that's upset. I'm not upset.
12:45Do I look upset, too?
12:47Which Drag Race winner surprised you the most? Tell us in the comments.
12:51Well, then, why did I waste my time putting on this?
12:58That's why you all gagging. I bring it to you every episode.
