Conversation, dialogue, entertainment, news, interviews, comedy and music talk, etc.

Steve Kay Variety Show:
Hello earthlings, or anyone from the universe.
In this podcast, you will find a variety of subjects.
We bring the entertainment, right to you in your car.
I look forward to connecting with you and hearing what you have to say. Blessings to all of you and others whom you care about.

Originally from Philadelphia, Richard Blank studied Spanish at a young age. While in college, he lived abroad in Spain and immersed himself in the language.

Upon his return to the USA, he interned for Telemundo, and eventually made the bold step of relocating to Costa Rica at age 25 to help out a friend, working in a call center.

There, he met his wife, and built his own call center from the ground up. He now oversees a company with bi-lingual telemarketers doing inbound and outbound calls, in addition to being a CEO, he is a mentor and a trainer to the many people who are a part of his team.

00:00I also noticed that you invest in your employees, too.
00:02That coming-of-age moment you mentioned in one of your interviews.
00:06Of course.
00:07Listen, you have a lot of people coming in for jobs.
00:11They will sing you the world.
00:14And when they fill out their information,
00:16I'll have the adjectives in regards to loyalty, fidelity, commitment, hardworking.
00:22When can I be a manager?
00:24When can you be a manager?
00:26I'm from the 80s and 70s.
00:28You've got to earn your stripes.
00:30You've got to step up to the plate.
00:33And so, for me, I don't like fast talkers.
00:36I like people that are bold and brave and have some moxie.
00:40But, man, if you're not showing up on time and if you're not coachable
00:43and you seem like a cancer or a jumper or a disruptor,
00:47you're really not the right guy.
00:49I'll take a Dennis Rodman.
00:50He was the rebound king, and he was a great guy on and off the court.
00:53You've just got to learn how to control the stallion a little bit, see,
00:57so it can run a little bit faster.
00:58And so, I like people that have rebel in them because you and I were rebels.
01:02We broke a window or two back in the day, but we also learned how to fix them and clean them.
01:06So, that's about maturity and growing up.
01:08But I prefer to have individuals that have never worked at a call center before,
01:14but if they're coming into a call center at 18 or 20 years old, bilingual,
01:18to me, it bears the mark of higher education, structure, discipline, and cognitive skills.
01:21No bad habits.
01:23I can mold them like a squire to a knight.
01:25But here's the secret.
01:26You brought it up.
01:27Turn your paper over, Steve.
01:29Give me a couple paragraphs of that coming-of-age moment.
01:32Hmm?
01:33Yeah, I can clarify it for you.
01:35I'd like to know when you beat up a bully,
01:38or when you saved a kitten,
01:40or you did both in one day.
01:42Why?
01:42Because Steve is going to ask you a zig and zag question.
