00:00Meanwhile, with Kuraseng threatening to batter communities, the command center is now fully operational.

00:17These personnel of the Department of Social Welfare Development, or DSWD,
00:22are now preparing the Disaster Response Command Center as the agency also declared red alert
00:28following the declaration of the same alert status by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, or NDRRMC,
00:37due to the threat posed by Tropical Depression Kursing.
00:41Kasi hindi naman bagyo lang ang binabantayan natin. Mayat na may mga lindol, may mga pumuputok pang mga bulkan.
00:47Meron rin tayong maliliit na mga sakuna, katulad yung mga sunog.
00:50DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian takes the lead on the first day of monitoring.
00:55The command center will take all the reports coming from the agency's regional offices updates
01:00about the effects of Kursing in their respective areas,
01:04so that the agency will know where to send humanitarian assistance.

01:36DSWD says that family food packs and non-food items are now pre-positioned in Region 1, Region 2,
01:44and the Correliera Administrative Region, ready to be deployed to local government units
01:50once assistance augmentations become necessary.
01:53By declaring red alert, also activates the DSWD's response cluster to monitor the situation on the field
02:01during and after the onslaught of tropical depression kursing in the country.
