00:00I know you talked about the swing-off, which sounds kind of nefarious in its own right, doesn't it, Scott?
00:05They're going to come up with something a little bit different, the swing-off.
00:09But I thought it was great last night.
00:12It was a very uneventful baseball game for the most part.
00:16Nothing against the players.
00:17Baseball players try any All-Star game.
00:19They do.
00:20But it was just one of those, you know, the pitchers were getting it done.
00:23We got a 2-0 game.
00:24The game was cruising along, and it seemed like it was going to be one of those forgettable All-Star games
00:28that everybody would complain about after.
00:30Oh, it was terrible.
00:32And then, you know, the home run started.
00:34You and I hit the bat.
00:35We both hit the bat.
00:36National League any over.
00:38And we hit some in-game overs as well.
00:41But I thought it was a lot of fun, Scott.
00:43I mean, you and I are old enough to remember the fake outrage over the tie game
00:48and the All-Star game that ended up resulting in giving home field advantage.
00:52They went from one extreme to the other, and they gave home field advantage in the World Series
00:56after because one All-Star game was tied.
00:59Like, really?
01:01But I thought the swing-off was cool.
01:03You know, this rule had been in place for years.
01:05It just never had happened before.
01:08And the players didn't know, Scott.
01:09Dave Roberts told a story.
01:12The players were like, what happens now?
01:14And he told them, you guys aren't going to believe this, but we're having a home run derby now.
01:17And they were like, no way.
01:19Like, the players had no idea.
01:21So, remember Donovan McNabb didn't know the overtime.
01:23Players don't know this stuff, right?
01:25They don't care.
01:25So, it's like, oh, really?
01:27Yeah, we're doing a home run derby.
01:29And I know a lot of people were complaining.
01:30I knew right away they were going to complain.
01:32Oh, Aaron Judge and Ohtani.
01:35The same people who were complaining about that would freak out, Scott.
01:38You imagine if, like, Aaron Judge, like, pulled something.
01:40Like, you know, he came back after, like, taking his uniform off.
01:45They predetermined this stuff, guys, before the game.
01:48All right?
01:49Like, basically, it was like, yeah, Ohtani's not doing this.
01:51Like, he's not going to – we're not taking – starting the game, taking him out.
01:54But – and then – so, they sort of planned it, you know, with guys that were going to be there after.
01:59And I'm so sick of people complaining all the time for the sake of complaining.
02:03It was cool, Scott.
02:04It's an all-star game.
02:05We had a home run derby.
02:06It was cool.
02:07It was a fun way to end the game.
02:09I don't want to see them do regular season games like this, but I didn't want the ghost runner either, right, on second base.
02:15So, it is what it is.
02:16But when it was all said and done, man, I thought the – pardon the pun, but I thought Major League Baseball hit a home run last night with this.
02:23People were talking about it.
02:24It was a fun, fun, fun ending of the game.
02:27And you saw how excited the players were in the dugouts during that derby to end the game.
02:32So, that's all you need to know about it.
02:34Did the players care?
02:35Yeah.
02:36Yes, they did.
