Companies are expecting a 6% increase in health benefit costs.

00:00If you get health insurance through your work, prepare to pay a bit more for it next year.
00:05According to a new report, employers are planning on shifting more health care costs onto their employees.
00:10The report released by Mercer said more than half of employers plan to adjust their health care offerings in 2026.
00:17Mercer said, quote, employers are thinking we're at a point where we can't do another year of not passing along some of the cost increases.
00:24After seeing a four and a half percent increase in health benefits expenses in 2024, companies are planning for another six percent bump this year.
00:33And Mercer says costs will likely increase even more in 2026 as doctors use A.I. to more precisely bill insurance companies.
00:41However, there is good news on the benefits front.
00:44More than half of employers said they will offer some kind of child care, elder care and women's reproductive health resources.
