00:02In 2025, people remember Hiroshima, but one name has quietly vanished from history, Kyoto.

00:13Yes, before Hiroshima, Kyoto was actually the first target for the atomic bomb.

00:21Kyoto, Japan's cultural heart, filled with temples, traditions, and thousands of years of history.

00:30General Leslie Groves, head of the Manhattan Project, wanted to strike there.

00:35He said, we must hit where it hurts most, where their pride lives.

00:41But then, something unexpected happened.

00:45Henry Stimson, the US Secretary of War, had once honeymooned in Kyoto.
