00:00Akbayan Partilist Representative Chael Jokno is urging the government to focus on forensic evidence in the investigation of the missing Sabongeros.
00:15Jokno says the testimonies from witnesses are usually recanted, so he suggested to focus more on a scientific approach when investigating, which cannot be changed.
00:26Yung issue na yan, kailangan makapagkonsulta ang ating pamahalaan sa mga forensic experts. And I think it's about time na maging mas scientific yung ating approach sa pag-i-investigan ng mga kaso.
00:40He added that even before his time in Congress as a human rights lawyer, he has been pushing to have an independent forensic laboratory that is not covered by the chain of the command of the PNP.
00:51The government recently resumed its investigation into the case of the missing Sabongeros following the testimonies of whistleblower Julie Dondon Patidongan.
01:04According to the PNP Forensic Group, 6 out of 91 bone samples from the recovered sacs from Taal Lake are possibly human bone based on size and appearance.
