00:00...spirits, saying, we command you by the name of Yeshua, Jesus, Jesus, whom Paul preaches.

00:10Okay. Exorcists. When you think of exorcists we think of a movie. We think of priests.

00:17But it means here, the word actually in Greek, exor, exor, kitas, it's one who binds by an oath,

00:25a conjurer who in a sense binds spirits or by a spell. Jewish people, back then there was a mystique

00:32about them because the pagan world knew there was something different about the Jewish people.

00:37They were reluctant to say the name of God and, and so people thought it was like a magic thing,

00:43a formula. Now most people, these people who are going around, we don't know who they were, but their

00:49motives weren't right. Maybe they were doing, they were doing it for other motives. They didn't have

00:52the Lord. But they're doing it, they're doing it out of other motives. Maybe to have fame, power, money.

00:59Most people don't connect exorcists with Jewish people. Traditional and Orthodox Judaism definitely

01:07believes in exorcism. Believes in evil spirits. But for 2,000 years the Jewish people haven't really had,

01:14they haven't had the power of the Spirit to exorcise anything. But look at this again. Verse 13.

01:23Some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it on themselves, took it upon themselves

01:28to call the name of the Lord Jesus Yeshua over those who had evil spirits.

01:33We command you by the name of Yeshua whom Paul preaches. So they're trying to cast out demons

01:43in the name of Jesus. They don't know Jesus. They saw Paul. They had to see Paul casting out spirits,

01:51or knowing that his handkerchief cast out spirits. And he's doing it in the name of Jesus. But they

01:56don't know Jesus. So they're using the name of Jesus like a magic formula, without knowing him.

02:03But here the motives are not right. The Lord said also on the day of judgment there will be people

02:08who come to him and say, Lord we cast out spirits in your name. And he said, get away from me.

02:16I never even knew you. The people who say that they don't won't even, they didn't even know God,

02:22but they used God. There's many ways people use God. But here we don't know where they were at,

02:29but we know something. The devil is an imitator. He's an imitator. He takes things of God and he twists

02:36them and he uses them for his purposes. And people, unsaved and some saved, will even take the things of

02:42God and use them for their own purposes. People will always use things, number one, that are successful,

02:50but also things that are of God for their own purposes. Acts 19 verse 14.

02:58And there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest who were doing that. Okay. Their father,

03:07Sceva, it's a Latin word, but he's Jewish. It says he was a chief priest, so he's a Kohanim.

03:13But they are going around and doing this. We don't know why. Seven sons all doing it. You know,

03:18there are people who get into doing this. People who get into, again the power of it. So they go and

03:22they see a guy who is possessed. Seven of them around and we're cast out in the name of Jesus.

03:30You got to be careful for using God for your own purposes. Because what happens is what they never

03:37expected. So they say, get out in the name of Jesus. And verse 15. The evil spirit responded to them

03:48Jesus, Jesus I know. Yeshua I know. Paul I know. But who are you? In other words,

03:59the name of Jesus, yes we know. But we, and they said who Paul preaches. We know Paul.

04:04We are well aware of him. But we don't know you at all. In other words you've got no authority.

04:10You have no authority. So this is what happens. Next verse. The man who had the evil spirit jumped on

04:19them and overcame them and prevailed against them, so that they were running out of that building

04:26naked and wounded. That must have been some scene. I mean seven people. One man with a demon

04:36goes crazy on them. And all of them are wounded. They're scarred. Their clothes are off.

04:44They run out for their lives. The demonic spirits are real. We've had experiences at times. Demons

04:51is real. Especially when you go to other countries you may see it where they didn't have the gospel

04:55kind of clear it out. Verse 17. What just happened became known to all the Jews and Gentiles throughout

05:03Ephesus. And fear fell on all of them and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. So even through this

05:09the name of the Lord is magnified because of it. These people were dabbling in something they had no idea of.

05:18You don't mess with the enemy without God. You don't do anything with the enemy

05:22without God. You know for throughout Latin America there are people who believe they are Christians

05:28or Catholic or whatever. And they also take part in things like Macomba and Santeria which are linked

05:35together. People in the occult always end up with some form of destruction in their lives.

05:42Flesh wants the power. The occult is wanting the power without anything good, without righteousness.

05:48The fortune telling is a copy of prophecy. It's an imitation. It's like a black market version

05:57of God's prophecy. Divination is a copy of word of knowledge. Witchcraft and sorcery is a copy of the

06:06power of the Spirit. It's a dark black market. It's attempting to use God rather than to be used by God.

06:15The enemy seeks to use the things of God. See he doesn't have anything of himself. Evil does, evil

06:22is parasitic. It has to use what God did because it has nothing. So it uses it and destroys it. That's

06:28what the enemy, he uses everything. So that's what that is. But you know believers can do that too.

06:34And think that they're doing God's will. And so the problem is it's like wanting the power of God

06:39without the nature of God. The most important thing is holiness. It's his nature. It's his heart.

06:44It's righteousness. And then God will give what he gives. But my focus has got to be God.

06:50And again I'm not judging everybody in this. How is it better? It can become a thing where

06:54the problem is some parts of Christianity become a, like a formula. You know it becomes if I say the right

07:01things. If I say, if I do this I'll get this. It's not about getting this. It's about God. Everything

07:06else is added to you. But the Lord did give us the power to cast out. To drive out. Not just to exorcist.

07:16He gave it to all of us. You see why? Because the enemy takes ground. He has strongholds. So we have to kick

07:24him out. There's a power to drive him out of where he is. Think about it. The Israelites didn't just

07:31come to the promised land. They had to drive out what was there. And they had a fight. It didn't happen

07:36at once. We are to drive out what shouldn't be. And not just in, in the world. Not just in people who

07:43are possessed. In your own life. You want a great prayer life. You got to drive out the other things

07:48that are taking up your, your time so you're not praying. You got to drive it out. You want to be on fire.

07:53You got to drive out idols in your life and things that are draining your fire for God.

07:58You go on holiness. You got to drive out what is not holy. In the physical world Paul was not well

08:04known back then. But in the demonic world he was known very well. Interesting. You can be unknown in

08:12this world but famous in the realm of the Spirit. That's what he wants. Jesus we, I know. Paul I know.

08:19But who are you? Now he didn't mention Caesar. He didn't say he knew Caesar. Caesar's the king. He

08:24didn't say he knew the kings. Because Paul is more powerful than the kings. One believer is more

08:30powerful than kings. They knew his name. They knew Paul. At the same time Paul was attacked throughout

08:37his life. And you know why? Because he was powerful. That's why the enemy hated him. That's why he had all

08:42these uprisings against Paul. And the same reason you may have a lot of things going against you. And

08:47if you're in God that's a good sign. Be blessed. Be blessed. Because the enemy doesn't waste his

08:52missiles. He doesn't waste his weapons. And he doesn't waste his demons. So if you're being attacked

08:57and you're doing God's will be blessed. It's a good sign. God is with you. God has a good thing coming with you.

09:03But here notice a few things. Us versus the enemy. We are not more powerful than the enemy on our own.

09:14We are not more powerful than an angel on, on our own. One angel, you know, came down and struck the

09:22army of Assyria. Okay. One angel wiped out over, over a hundred thousand soldiers. One angel.

09:30We are not a match for the enemy on our own. But the enemy is no match for God in any way, shape or form.

09:39He's like an ant. That, an ant that can go under the foot of God. So the key, the key thing is

09:46you fight your fight never alone. Fight your fight with the power of God. You, on your own you cannot win.

09:54With God you cannot lose. You know, and so we are not supposed to fear the enemy. What does it say?

10:01It says God will put the enemy under your feet. But that's only if you're with God, because it's under His feet.

10:08And if you're not to fear the enemy, then you're not to fear anything of the enemy, including problems, threats,

10:14people, that thing that you're worried about at night. You are not to fear it. It's to be under your feet.

10:20Under your feet.

10:23You know, Richard Wurmbrand was in prison for his faith in Romania and he didn't look powerful in the

10:29world. He looked very, having no power at all. And he had the whole government against him. And he,

10:34they finally let him out and he was asked to speak in a church. And he didn't. He said something

10:38that somebody was planted in the congregation, a spy for the government, to hear, look for anything.

10:45And he said, I got it. He said it. He went outside, started shouting, Wurmbrand is finished. He's

10:50finished. He's going to be, you know, they're going to kill him. They're going to put him in jail. They're

10:52going to execute him. As he's shouting that, a car swerves out of control, goes off the road and pins

10:59him to the building and kills him. You see, it's not about how much power you have. You have the angels of God.

11:04You have the power of the kingdom. If you're in God there, you are the most powerful. When I was

11:10newer in the Lord, years ago, and there was a friend of a brother in the Lord who was into some

11:16dark things. And the brother said, I don't know where he's at. We don't even know where he's at.

11:20We need to pray for deliverance. And you don't pray. By the way, we are not to be under a bondage

11:25that every time you sin you are possessed by spirits. That is not the case. You have the Holy Spirit in you.

11:31That doesn't mean you can't be oppressed. That doesn't mean if you're dealing and dabbling in

11:34things that we don't know about. That's one thing. But that's not the normal course for a believer.

11:38We have the Holy Spirit. So we prayed and we fasted. And we went over to the house. I said,

11:43we want to pray for you. And I start praying. He starts laughing and laughing and laughing.

11:49And he said, said he's a believer. He's laughing. And he starts shaking and shaking. And his legs are

11:54moving like back and forth and back and forth. And I put my hand on his leg and it's going back and forth.

11:59And back. But as I'm praying, we're praying and praying and praying. This, the shaking starts

12:03slowing down. He stops laughing. It ends up after we prayed he was set free from his sin, from bondage,

12:12from addiction and went on to serve and bless the Lord. God delivered him. We are not to fear the enemy

12:20as long as we are in God. You cannot have the power of God without the will of God.

12:28If you want the power of God you have to seek the will of God, not the power. Then the power will

12:33come. Then you can seek that. You want the blessings of God. You don't have the blessing of God without

12:37the will of God. Seek the will of God. Seek the righteousness of God. Seek the heart of God.

12:42And you will have the power. It is dangerous to be outside the will of God and dealing with these

12:50things as they were. And the thing is the more your life is outside God's will the less power you have

12:57over the enemy. And the more he has over you. But the more your life is in God's will the more power

13:03you have over the enemy. And the less he has over you. The sons of Sceva they are not in God's will but

13:10they want the power. That's a dangerous thing. In the will of God comes the power. In the heart of God

13:17comes the blessing. And here one man possessed by the enemy overcomes seven of them. Seven. That's the

13:26enemy versus a person. And so seven. Yet that one person could not touch Paul. They said Paul we know.

13:35We can't do anything there. So that means Paul is stronger than seven men. Imagine being stronger

13:41than seven men. But you know what if there were a thousand, a legion of demons or a thousand demons

13:46it wouldn't matter. We're stronger than a thousand. One shall put a thousand to flight. If you are with God

13:53that is the power you have. That is the power that you have overcoming all things. One thing about

14:01what happened as well. Keep in mind it's not just that Paul or the disciples resisted the devil which

14:08they did. Or resisted a demon which they did. But they commanded the demon. That means you've got

14:16power. God's people have power to command demons. And they have to obey. Command the darkness have to

14:26obey. And that says something right there. You see one of the things we're supposed to be doing

14:32is in the world we're not just supposed to have nothing to do with evil and darkness and sin.

14:36And we're also not supposed to only resist it. We are. But there's more. We are supposed to be leading

14:42in the world. We are, you are supposed to be commanding. You are supposed to be leading in your life.

14:48You're supposed to be leading in your situation. I'm not saying you're leading this person. I'm saying

14:52you're leading the darkness. You're overcoming. You're in a situation. You're not supposed to be

14:57overcome by the situation. You're supposed to be leading the situation. You're not supposed to be

15:01overcome by the problem. You're supposed to be leading and commanding the problem. There are believers

15:08who lived in communist Eastern Europe and they were in prison for their faith. Now there are

15:13believers who resisted it, who said, well that was great. We're not going to be part of that. I don't

15:17care what happens around me. But the greatest thing was leading. The believers who led were those

15:24who, when they were in prison and they were taken to be interrogated or intimidated or tortured,

15:30they didn't, they didn't just respond. They led. They took charge. They started witnessing to their

15:36captor, to their torture, to their interrogator. They took charge and many of them won those people

15:44to the Lord. That's the difference. You see we're not supposed to be living, reacting to everything

15:50that's happening in our life. You know if you're reacting, you respond. Somebody did something to

15:54you and you're bitter over it. You're not leading. You're following. You're following the devil.

15:58You're following the darkness that the devil put into that situation. God wants you to take charge

16:04and lead and overcome. You know one of these people who was being interrogated. He's being

16:09interrogated and interrogated. And finally he says, I want to interrogate you now. And the guy says,

16:13what? And he interrogated you. And he says, have you ever been in love? He says, what do you mean

16:17have you ever been in love? He says, well he says, when I was in love all I did was just talk about

16:21the one I was in love, my wife. I just talked about it all the time. I said, but you, you keep talking about

16:26all these different things and all this. So I see you don't have a love, you don't have love in you because

16:30all you're wrapped up in everything else. You're asking about this this. If you had the love of God,

16:33everything would change in your life. The guy ended up getting saved. Take charge. You are to lead.

16:40Lead the situation. Command. You're not to dance to the tune of the world. You're supposed to sing

16:46a new song to the Lord. In every situation you're not supposed to respond to. You're going to your

16:52family. You're going to your relatives. And there might be an old song that gets played and you, you

16:55respond to it. You're not supposed to. You're supposed to come from a whole new place and take charge,

17:01and lead, and put in the love of God, and put in God's presence. You know how Donald Trump is a

17:05disruptor to this culture? We're supposed to be a disruptor to the kingdom of the enemy.

17:12The greatest way to overcome and dis- is to shine the light of God. Command. Command. The Bible says

17:19we war not against flesh and blood. We war against principalities and rulers. But the word, one of the

17:24words there is arche, which means leader's general. You war against the high things, because that's how

17:30much power you have. You're supposed to be like a general. You give orders, not to people, but to the

17:36principalities. But the thing is, a private is never to command a general. A general is never to take an

17:42order from a private. But the thing is, when you give in to sin, you're like a general who's obeying a

17:49private. You're obeying something low. But you've got so much power. You have so much power. You're

17:55obeying things that you don't have to obey. Because you have the authority over that sin. The sin does

18:01not have authority over you. Paul said sin shall not be master over you. But you've got to believe it.

18:06If you're a general who doesn't realize the power you have, or the authority, you're going to obey what

18:11you shouldn't obey. We've got to realize the authority we have and do not obey it. Command it.

18:19You have been given the power to cast out. A crucial power. Crucial power. Because the enemy gets in,

18:26you've got to have the power to kick him out. The Lord gave a parable about a man who is possessed and

18:31he gets delivered. But he stays empty. He ends up empty of God. And so the Spirit comes back and then brings

18:37seven others. And he's ended up worse than he was before. What I shared is that this also applies to

18:43cultures and societies and nations. When a nation or civilization that has known God turns away from

18:51God it will be repossessed by that which was cast out of it. The Spirit, it will not stay empty. It will not

18:58be neutral. That's why America didn't become neutral when it took out, took out God. It's a repossession.

19:06All sorts of stuff come into it. So we're living in a day, the last days, we're living in a culture

19:14that has been in many ways repossessed. And so we must all the more have the power, use the power

19:20to cast out. You know one of the things that we're watching in our culture right now in the political

19:25realm is we're watching right now in the last two weeks a rolling back. A casting out. And it's not

19:32about politics. It's about God's purposes. A casting out of things that have never been cast out before.

19:38That's what we're watching. But less than a month before the election we were on the National Mall.

19:44And we were praying on that massive gathering. We were praying particularly about this one

19:51spirit and this one agenda, which is, is embodied by Ishtar. Ishtar, the goddess of gender confusion.

20:03Of confusing, turning men into women, women into men, ancient principality and sexual immorality.

20:10All, even, even involving surgical mutilation, transitioning of people from ancient times.

20:16And we prayed against it. And I was led, we were led to have a, an altar, smash an altar of Ishtar

20:24on the National Mall, which we brought from here on the day of Yom Kippur, which is the day of

20:28casting out evil. And we smashed that altar. Well right now, it was less than 30 days later,

20:36the election came. Right now we are witnessing this casting out of that same spirit in our culture.

20:42In the schools, from the school system. Government, federal agencies, corporations, culture.

20:50Now we need revival. Without revival that most likely is not going to last. But with revival it will.

20:56We have the power to cast out. You've got the power to cast out. Not just around you, but from your own life.

21:05You've got the power to cast out sin. You've got the power to cast out that habit.

21:12You have the power to cast out that indulgence that you do in secret. You have that power to cast out

21:18whatever needs to be cast out of your life. How about using it? How about the next time you're tempted,

21:26take your power. Cast that thing out. I cast you out in the name of Jesus. You've got the power.

21:35You want the Spirit to say, Jesus I know. Paul I know. And I know this one too.

21:41You. Put your name in there. It says, God has put Satan, or will put Satan under your feet. And I'm going to bring this whole thing home

21:50home with a person, with something you've known, you grew up with. And that of course is Popeye.

21:58Popeye. How many people grew up watching Popeye? Very strange cartoon.

22:04It's a guy, kind of one eye, guy who talked really weird, mumbling all the time, but

22:12goes around carrying, didn't have a sword, didn't have a weapon. He carries a can of spinach.

22:17And the thing is, he always ends up getting beaten up. Beaten up. And I'm saying, eat the spinach now.

22:25So why does he wait to be totally pulverized by Bluto? And then he decides maybe it's a good idea to

22:33eat some spinach. An idea. Before, as soon as you see Bluto, get your spinach. Eat the spinach. The moment.

22:40Bluto's got problems, first of all. Even his name is a problem. Anybody with that name is dysfunctional.

22:46It was really crazy. He would just get totally pulverized. And then at the last minute. But the

22:52thing is, that's the way we often are in our life. And in our fights. We get all beaten up on,

23:00before we call on the power. Before we use the power. Before we, before we fully do it. We, we let

23:07the enemy do all these things that he should not be doing to us. We let the enemy seduce us,

23:13make us trip and fall when he should not, and have authority that he has no authority over.

23:19And the thing is, we're dealing with it and we're not using the power.

23:23The power. God gave you power. Not, not so you can do anything you want, but so you can do the will of God.

23:30But it's total power in that realm. It says I can do all things through Messiah who strengthens me.

23:37All things the will of God. He gave you power. He gave you authority.

23:43It's not hype. It's real. He gave you a name to use. He gave you the word to use.

23:49He gave you the spirit. He gave you the victory to use. Use the power. Use the force. Use the power of God.

23:59Make sure you're in his will.
