00:00You mentioned Cal Raleigh was the winner. He's having the best home run year ever.
00:0438 at the break. He wins the home run derby. I still don't like the way that they advanced him
00:09out of the first round. I thought that was nonsense. I think if you had a ticket on Brent
00:14Rooker to win the home run derby, you should be upset. But it is what it is. It is the dopey
00:19home runs. Well, I mean, they've always done the swing off. And look, I know this because
00:27we've been betting on this thing for the last few years. So we got, they've always done the swing
00:31off, which is when someone's tied for something, they each got 30 seconds or a minute. And whoever
00:37hits the most in that amount of time, you know, will advance onto the next round. They did this
00:42thing this year where it was, uh, whoever hit the longest Homer broke the tie in the first round.
00:47And both guys had 471 feet and, uh, you know, rally was 471.56 and Rooker was 471.44 or something
01:00like that. And they knocked the guy out for that. Like get lost. I mean, you know what happened.
01:06They wanted Raleigh to keep going. Uh, he's the guy. Nobody wants to see, uh, Brent Rooker, uh,
01:12continue on, even though we've all got, uh, you know, 10 or 11 to one tickets. We did a 10 to one
01:1710 to one. There's plenty of people who wanted to see Brent Rooker continue on in the home run
01:22Derby. Either way, you get the storybook with Cal Raleigh and the dad and the brother and the
01:27entire family affair. Uh, what a night for Cal. Here he is. Yeah. I mean, just, um, kind of surreal.
01:34You know, you don't, uh, you don't think you're going to win it and you don't think you're ever
01:38invited and then you get invited and you know, the fact that, that you win it with your family
01:43and, um, super special and just what a night, you know, pretty cool. Uh, you know, hopefully,
01:50uh, can inspire some future catchers, future switch hitters out there. And, um, you know,
01:56gotta give credit to this guy right here. He's the one who made me both of them. So catcher
02:00and a switch hitter and, uh, you know, just super, you know, blessed and, uh, grateful for where
02:07I'm at. And, um, just unbelievable experience.
02:11Whatever. There you go. And, uh, everyone loves this guy, the dumper after, uh, this season
02:17that he's having his popularity soaring.
02:21Yeah. Uh, and he is going to be, um, playing for USA next year too, in that world baseball
02:26classic. He'll be the catcher. So, uh, that's, is very exciting. Uh, you know, they only have
02:31a couple of guys so far, but some pretty big names, right? Skeens, judge, Raleigh and Bobby
02:36Witt. Uh, so that's a pretty good start, uh, for USA next spring at the WBC. Uh, also,
02:44uh, I wanted to give you some numbers on the cruise missile because I, I really do believe
02:48people that he deserves his due here. He had 21 homers overall, five of them were 480 feet
02:55or more, including the five, uh, 13, I guess it was tacked at that sky. And there's like
03:01a hotel out there in right center field, uh, right, like right beyond like the water and
03:06all that. Like he like hit the hotel, uh, that's out there. He hit two balls on the roof,
03:11uh, down the right field line above the chop house. Seven of his homers had an exit velo
03:17of 114 miles per hour or harder. Uh, unbelievable show, uh, by O'Neal Cruz. And that happens a lot
03:24in home run derby. Sometimes the guy who wins, isn't the guy that gets talked about down the
03:29line. I mean, everyone talks about Josh Hamilton at Yankee stadium that year, Scott, you remember
03:34when he, in 2008, I think it was where he destroyed the place. He didn't win the home
03:38run derby that year. And that's all that anybody remembers out of it. So I think you get a little
03:43bit of that with the cruise missile last night. Well, you know, I don't know if you saw during
03:47the whole process, Vinny P was cracking jokes on it. And he was saying that, uh, when this
03:55guy's at bat and you're playing first base, you're actually scared to death the way he rips
04:02the ball. The problem with him is, uh, and the reality that the harsh realities of the pirates
04:10are that O'Neal Cruz really does not hit. He is a, he's, he's a lucky hitter. Like he'll
04:19hit home runs, you know, once every two weeks that are mammoth shots into the river and into
04:26the Allegheny or whatever, into the, you know, uh, out of the ballpark, he'll hit one, you
04:31know, up into the beer stand. He'll hit one on the sidewalk pavement leading to the river,
04:36hit one in the river, but he hits 200. I mean, the guy is a pathetic hitter.
