Malaysia reserves right to accept or reject US Envoy, says Fahmi

Malaysia has reaffirmed its sovereign right to accept or reject any proposed foreign ambassador, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.  Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday (July 15), Fahmi was responding to public criticism over the proposed nomination of pro-Israel commentator Nick Adams as the next United States ambassador to Malaysia.  The government's spokesman added that Wisma Putra has not yet presented a memorandum on the matter to the Cabinet.
