A 21-year-old foreign student has been remanded for four days for allegedly slashing his ex-girlfriend’s neck with a knife at a private university in Subang Jaya, Selangor.
00:00A foreign national suspected of slashing his ex-girlfriend with a knife at a private university in Subang Jaya has been remanded for four days.
00:10The remand order, effective until July 18th, was issued by Magistrate Muhammad Redza Azhar Razali at the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
00:22The 21-year-old suspect is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with the dangerous weapon.
00:31If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine or both.
00:36The incident occurred around 6.30pm on Monday when the suspect allegedly attacked the 20-year-old victim, also a foreign national, slashing the left side of her neck with a knife.
00:47Subang Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mahmat confirmed that the suspect, who is also a student at the same university, was arrested at the scene.
00:57The motive for the attack remains under investigation.
01:00The victim is currently receiving treatment at the hospital and remains under medical observation for her neck injuries.
