00:00Putting your house up for sale can be very stressful.
00:02And it's an absolute nightmare when you have a house that you can't sell, but must sell.
00:07Our mortgage is now nearly £4,000 a month.
00:10If you don't sell this house, it would be repossessed.
00:13Some homeowners just cannot see what is staring them straight in the face.
00:17Oh, the smell. It's like wet dog.
00:19And some buyers just don't have the vision.
00:22No way would I spend £1.3 million on this.
00:25I feel like I'm in a chip shop.
00:26God, I would never buy a house looking like this.
00:29That's where we come in.
00:30My brother Stuart and I have been working together in property for years.
00:33That is very therapeutic.
00:36Scarlett and I know what attracts buyers.
00:38Wow.
00:39These are features that people would pay extra for.
00:41And what sends them running.
00:43Oh, God.
00:44This carpet on the floor.
00:45I hear that.
00:46Every week, we'll be given a house each.
00:48And we'll transform them from unsellable to unbelievable.
00:52Oh, wow.
00:54This kitchen now looks...
00:56Like a million-pound house.
00:58It's gone from drab to fab.
01:01Wow.
01:02I'd definitely be interested in something like this.
01:04Oh, I can't believe this is my house.
01:06And prove you can turn can't-sell houses into must-have homes.
01:10This week, we're in West Sussex to help two houses in serious need of a sale.
01:22But with one property dated and drab, and the other an assault to the senses, there is a lot to do.
01:30Scarlett and I are facing off to revamp these houses in just two days, with £3,000 each.
01:37Oh, my goodness.
01:38There is so much work to do.
01:39This house is huge.
01:41To show how to style at home to sell quickly without breaking the bank.
01:45Looks like it's worth a lot.
01:47It looks like a £20,000 kitchen.
01:54It's lovely, isn't it?
01:55It's beautiful.
01:56I feel like I could be on the French Riviera here.
01:57We're only about 80 miles away from France here.
01:59Not too far.
02:00We are on the south coast, and it's West Sussex.
02:02Yes, which is the sunniest county in the UK.
02:06Beautiful coastline, lovely countryside.
02:08Also a great commute into London.
02:10And it's a buoyant property area.
02:12Yes.
02:13Because around 10,000 houses get sold every year here.
02:15It's a great place to buy.
02:17However, there are two houses on the market that cannot sell, and we need to find out why.
02:22Let's have a look.
02:23Properties in this area are usually snapped up in four months.
02:30But both homes we're seeing today have been on the market for a lot longer than that.
02:34The first house in need of our help is in Bognor Regis, where 60-year-old Tracy has lived all of her life.
02:43Hello.
02:45You come up here?
02:46It gets mocked a lot, doesn't it, Bognor Regis?
02:48They laugh about it, but I love it.
02:50We're all sunny people.
02:51We all smile.
02:52Making the locals laugh is Tracy's 200-year-old terrace house, which she's lived in for 17 years and is dotty about.
03:01I wanted it to be a bright colour.
03:03And then I thought, should I put some dots on it, like Noddy's house?
03:09And it just made, everybody went past laughed.
03:12Cheered me up.
03:13The downstairs has also been given the Tracy touch, as the front room has been turned into her bedroom and a false wall has created a dressing room, leaving the kitchen and tiny living room at the back.
03:24I didn't really want to live on my own.
03:25I find it quite lonely.
03:27So I've got a couple of lodgers.
03:29They've got the upstairs.
03:30So I sleep downstairs like it's a one-bedroom flat, really.
03:34I don't really want to do the stairs.
03:37Tracy struggled with the stairs because of two devastating diagnoses.
03:42I've had cancer twice.
03:43I've got through it twice.
03:44And I'm like, well, you better make the most of it because you're lucky.
03:48The reason I'm quite desperate to sell is because I don't know what's going to happen in the future with my health.
03:54I don't have to be here for a long time, but I do have to be here for a good time.
03:58Sounds really selfish, doesn't it?
03:59But I haven't got any children.
04:00So let's get the house sold, go on a little journey around this country, spend all the money, and then clock out.
04:09Tracy listed her house seven months ago, and despite dropping the price by £20,000 to £330,000, it's had no viewings.
04:17I love my house.
04:18I can't understand why everyone else doesn't, because I think it's great.
04:24And until it sells, Tracy's dream is on hold.
04:27My worst fear is dying before I sell it, and that, if I wasn't already dead, that would kill me.
04:37It's time to meet Tracy and help her to finally get her house off the market.
04:43That is the problem.
04:45If I saw that on a listing, I would think, I'm all right, thanks.
04:48Yeah.
04:48OK, so before we talk about your house, why is it that you're selling?
04:56Because I got diagnosed with throat cancer, 2021, on my 15th birthday.
05:02I've got over the cancer, but it's a life changer.
05:05Yeah, yeah.
05:05So I want to sell my house, because I want to spend all the money.
05:09OK.
05:09That's as simple as it is.
05:10Or on another house?
05:11No, no, on as much luxury I can get.
05:15It's my last chapter, so it's got to be the best one.
05:17Of course.
05:17This is the first time I've ever met anybody like you, where this is the reason, and you
05:21know what, I love it.
05:22It's a hard decision to make, but once you've made this decision, it's easy.
05:27Did you expect your house to sell quickly?
05:28Yeah, I couldn't understand it.
05:30I thought, what is it they can't see that I can see?
05:34But to us, it's crystal clear that no viewings in seven months means something is seriously
05:39wrong.
05:39So we've asked some local property enthusiasts to view her home and spell out why it's not
05:45selling.
05:45It's very bright.
05:46First-time buyers, Terrence and Rose.
05:49It looks like a toadstool, doesn't it?
05:51Property mad Ariana.
05:52It just feels a bit musky and dirty.
05:56Jeez.
05:57Feng Shui guru Quentin.
05:59Looks neglected, to be honest.
06:01Ooh.
06:01And straight-talking serial property viewer, Lynn.
06:05No, that's definitely not for me.
06:07They're the perfect people to give the inside scoop on why this property can't sell, so it's
06:12crucial Tracy takes heed.
06:14I'm actually excited about what they're going to say, because that's how I'm going to learn.
06:18Exactly that.
06:19Oh, look at my house.
06:21Wow.
06:22It just reminds me of, like, a clown.
06:25God, I can't even imagine what the inside looks like.
06:27I like the size of the room, but, personally, I think bedrooms should be upstairs.
06:33Really?
06:34God, I would never buy a house looking like this.
06:36I don't know what I'm going to say about this horrible, horrible room.
06:40It's horrible.
06:41Horrible.
06:42Broken cupboards doesn't leave a very good first impression.
06:45So I'm absolutely godsmack.
06:47See, when I go and look at a house, I don't look at the furniture, because I'm not buying
06:50the furniture, I'm buying the house.
06:52Yeah.
06:53These double dolls, they take up half the hallway when you open them.
06:56I was expecting maybe a dining room area.
07:00Is this like a closet room?
07:02I don't think a wardrobe downstairs next to my kitchen is something that would appeal
07:06to me as a buyer or a lot of people.
07:10Very small sort of lounge room.
07:12Or make-do.
07:13Yeah, it's not a living area.
07:14This would make more sense than the front of the house.
07:16It's a no from me.
07:18It's just too mismatched.
07:20It's not modern.
07:21And I hate the outside.
07:22It doesn't feel like it could be a family home.
07:26Rooms mixed around.
07:28I can see that that would put a lot of people off.
07:30But I do like the actual building.
07:32It's got a lot of potential.
07:34Yeah.
07:34I love that she landed on it's got a lot of potential.
07:38Because it has.
07:38I'm shocked.
07:39I mean, I wouldn't care if I walked in there and that's a bedroom.
07:42Not everyone has the vision.
07:43I can't believe I got it so wrong.
07:45One of us will be back and we are going to get this house up to scratch.
07:49And we are going to hopefully get you this house sold.
07:51Do you look excited?
07:52I am excited.
07:53Brilliant.
07:53But we will see you very soon.
07:55Okay, lovely.
07:55Cheers.
07:56Bye-bye.
07:59This is probably one of the most quirky, unconventional houses I've ever seen.
08:05But I do believe that you could transform this place.
08:09Why are you giving it to me?
08:10It's the polka dot.
08:11I can't do the polka dot.
08:12You could deal with this house.
08:13You could do that.
08:13The second house that's in need of our help is in Chichester, West Sussex's only city.
08:21Tatiana and Eric have been married for 15 years.
08:25I got on one knee down here and I proposed to my wife.
08:27I did plan to do it in Africa, but I couldn't wait.
08:30I was too excited.
08:32They've lived in the other love of Eric's life, their 1920s country house, for 20 years.
08:37I remember first walking in here and thinking, wow.
08:41When I got the keys, it was the best day of my life.
08:44It was the house that we'd always dreamed of.
08:47Perfect for us for bringing up a family.
08:49The 2,500 square foot property has two living rooms, a dining room and a kitchen, which might have been top of the range 20 years ago, but is now looking dated and drab.
09:02As is the decor, which is Eric's domain.
09:04After nine months and 11 viewings, there's still no sign of a sale, even though they've slashed the price by 200k to 1.3 million.
09:24I cannot put my hat on it.
09:26Like, what's going wrong?
09:28Why people don't see this house with the same eyes that I've seen it 20 years ago?
09:34And now, their dream home is turning into a financial nightmare.
09:38We're in desperate need of help to sell this, because with the interest rates hikes, our mortgage is now nearly £4,000 a month, which is eating us up alive financially.
09:51Well, it's been frustrating and worrying, and we did have some sleepless nights.
09:57The situation does get worse day by day.
09:59In the next few months, we're potentially going to lose our home.
10:04The clock is ticking for Eric and Tatiana.
10:08This is beautiful.
10:10Great-sized grounds.
10:12From here, looks unbelievably inviting, so something must be going wrong.
10:17Time for us to meet this couple in crisis.
10:22What a house you have here.
10:24Oh, thank you. Yeah, that's what we think.
10:26Yeah, you wanted to sell it.
10:28Yeah.
10:28Why?
10:29Interest rates went up, so our mortgage went up ten times.
10:34Oh, yeah.
10:35Now it's nearly on £4,000 a month.
10:37We're just getting desperate now.
10:39Yeah.
10:39We're running out of time to sell it.
10:41So we have to get this place sold ASAP?
10:44Yes, absolutely.
10:44There's a lot at stake here.
10:46Eric and Tatiana are in dire straits.
10:51We have to figure out why potential buyers aren't biting,
10:54so our local property enthusiasts are back to look around.
10:59I'm getting nervous now.
11:00Are you?
11:01Do you want to see them?
11:02Yes.
11:02Yes, please.
11:04I absolutely love everything about it,
11:08and if the inside is anything like the outside,
11:11I can't wait to see it.
11:12Once I've walked in the door and looked around,
11:15I feel very let down.
11:18It should be more inviting.
11:21I've come in, and I feel like walking back out again.
11:24I mean, it's just white.
11:26It's just bland.
11:27It needs, like, the wow factor.
11:31There are a lot of white walls.
11:33Oh, we're looking at you, are we, Eric?
11:35That is a very good point.
11:36I'd always had everything white.
11:38It always makes it feel a bit bigger.
11:40But it can also make it feel empty.
11:43I feel really let down.
11:45The outside of the house stands out,
11:47and then you come inside,
11:48and it looks like straight-out catalogue,
11:51in my opinion.
11:52I don't like the cupboards.
11:54I think the cupboards are really, really dated.
11:57Yeah, we've moved back into the 80s and 90s.
12:00Beach-coloured cabinet doors and these tiles.
12:04It's just shabby.
12:05Oh, I don't like this.
12:07It's very mismatched.
12:08It is mismatched.
12:09Different patterns, different chairs.
12:12Ah, this is not nice.
12:13I don't like anything that's been used in this room,
12:16and it's putting me off the actual house.
12:19Feels too dull and dated.
12:21If it had a colour injection,
12:23it would look amazing,
12:24especially with all the light coming in from here.
12:26I agree, yeah.
12:28I think the outside of the property is lovely,
12:29but the inside is a little bit plain,
12:31and for the amount of money the property costs,
12:33I would expect more.
12:34No way would I spend 1.3 million on this.
12:37So, there you have it.
12:38Lots of work.
12:39That's exactly feedback we had before.
12:41Now I understand why lots of work, where?
12:44There are ways which we can transform this house
12:47without breaking the bank.
12:49That would be amazing.
12:50Wow.
12:50That sounds incredible.
12:51This is very, very simple.
12:55Make the interior as good as the exterior,
12:58and one of us has to deliver it.
13:00Regardless of which one that is,
13:02there's going to be a lot of work.
13:03Yeah.
13:04Good luck.
13:09We'll have just two days and 3,000 pounds each
13:11to transform these houses
13:13before the property enthusiasts are back.
13:15Now to see who gets which one.
13:17We've got two very different houses.
13:20Yes.
13:21But both need a lot of work.
13:22A lot of work.
13:23Ready?
13:24Let's see.
13:27Oh, yes.
13:29Eric and Tatiana's bland, boring house.
13:32And I have Tracy's red polka dot house.
13:35I'm going to be turning this house from drab to fab.
13:37Yep.
13:37And you're going to be going dotty.
13:38And potty.
13:40Yeah.
13:40Yeah, you will be.
13:52Stuart and I are in West Sussex
13:54to help two totally different houses
13:56with one thing in common.
13:58They're stuck on the market.
14:01In Bognor Regis,
14:02two-time cancer survivor Tracy
14:03is desperate to sell her house
14:05and finally move on to a new chapter.
14:07Our local property enthusiasts
14:08didn't pull any punches
14:10in saying what they thought
14:11prevented any viewings.
14:12It's horrible.
14:14Horrible.
14:15The clown-like front,
14:17all that clutter,
14:19and a house split in two
14:20so her lodgers can live upstairs
14:21and her downstairs
14:22means she's not showing
14:24what should be
14:25a three-bedroom family home
14:26to its full potential.
14:29Tracy!
14:30Ray!
14:31You have got me.
14:34Fantastic, right.
14:35Now armed with the facts,
14:36it's my job to transform Tracy's home
14:38and make it more attractive to buyers,
14:41starting with a clothing declutter.
14:43I've worn this for a long time.
14:45That's right.
14:46I wouldn't mind giving all my clothes to charity
14:48and just starting again.
14:50Really?
14:50Yeah, because I really see it as a new start.
14:52OK.
14:53So I'm doing quite well.
14:54I'm in remission.
14:55That's why I'm on this journey,
14:58because I can't give up.
14:59I feel quite privileged
15:00to be part of this journey.
15:01Oh, thank you.
15:02It's scary but exciting at the same time.
15:04Yeah, yeah.
15:05It's been the hardest two years of my life,
15:07you know,
15:07and I feel it's like a reward.
15:09Yeah.
15:09Let's get your house transformed.
15:11Yeah.
15:11Let's get it sold,
15:12and then you can move on
15:13to the next chapter.
15:15Yeah.
15:17While I crack on with decluttering,
15:19over in Chichester,
15:20Scarlett's tackling the transformation
15:21of the tired country house.
15:23Eric and Tatiana's massive mortgage
15:26means they could lose their home
15:27if they don't sell soon.
15:29The property enthusiasts were crystal clear
15:31in what was turning buyers off.
15:33I've come in,
15:34and I feel like walking back out again.
15:36The outside is the perfect,
15:39iconic country house,
15:40but inside it's totally vanilla
15:42and charmless.
15:44Hello.
15:45Hi there.
15:46You have me.
15:47Yay.
15:47Oh, thank goodness.
15:48Yes.
15:48It's my job to revamp
15:50this £1.3 million period property
15:52and give it the wow factor
15:54to appeal to buyers.
15:55It's a massive four-bedroom family home
15:58with three reception rooms,
15:59a huge garden,
16:01and priced lower
16:01than similar-sized local properties,
16:03so with all that potential,
16:05it should be selling.
16:07I am very excited about this
16:09because I am the queen of colour
16:11and I feel as though
16:12that is what this house needs.
16:14It needs personality,
16:15it needs excitement,
16:16all the things I see
16:17when I look at the two of you,
16:18but don't see in the house.
16:20So I'm taking bits of your personalities
16:21and I'm going to just splash it all over.
16:25Wow.
16:26How exciting.
16:27Exciting.
16:30Transforming Eric and Tatiana's huge home
16:32from drab to fab
16:33in just two days
16:34is a massive task,
16:35so I've got lots of help,
16:37including stylist Natalie
16:38and handyman Scott.
16:41Good morning.
16:42How are you both?
16:42Really good.
16:43Very well.
16:43Good.
16:44As I'm sure you've seen,
16:45this is a very big house,
16:46which means we have a very big job
16:47in two days.
16:48So things we really need to do
16:50is add some colour,
16:51inject some life into this place
16:52and for a £1.3 million house,
16:54sort out the kitchen.
16:55Going to look completely different
16:57when it's done.
16:58New doors,
16:58we're going to have new tiles,
17:00minimal spend,
17:01but maximum effect.
17:03That's what I like to hear, yes.
17:05With that,
17:05we're going to inject some colour
17:06in this place
17:07and introduce lots of pattern
17:08through first-off furnishings
17:09and things.
17:10Are we ready?
17:10Let's do it.
17:11I'm ready.
17:11Team Scarlet all the way.
17:12Bye.
17:15Sold prices in this area
17:17have gone up by 7%,
17:18but this one
17:19has just been reduced
17:20by £200,000
17:21and still can't sell
17:23as the interior
17:24just doesn't live up
17:25to its price tag.
17:27The kitchen was the biggest issue
17:29for the property enthusiast
17:31who called it
17:31an old-fashioned letdown.
17:34So I've asked Scott
17:35to fix it fast.
17:36Realistically,
17:37you'd want to replace
17:38this whole kitchen,
17:39but we know
17:39that a kitchen this size,
17:41we could be looking up
17:41to £30,000,
17:42maybe even £40,000.
17:43Yeah, for sure.
17:44Money that definitely
17:45Eric and Tatiana
17:47do not have.
17:48We need to fully
17:48revive this kitchen
17:49and one of the ways
17:50we're going to do that
17:50is we're going to
17:51replace these doors.
17:53Replacing the doors
17:54will give the look
17:55of an expensive new kitchen
17:56without breaking the bank,
17:58perfect for attracting
17:58potential buyers.
18:00So it's going to look like
18:01that when it's done.
18:03That colour
18:03that has popped
18:05into the kitchen
18:05makes me so unbelievably happy.
18:07And wait until
18:08the tiles go on as well.
18:09When people walk in,
18:10they're going to see it
18:10and think,
18:11yes, this is what I want
18:12from a kitchen
18:13in a house like this.
18:14We've chosen
18:16gorgeous patterned tiles
18:17and rich colours
18:18to give the locks look
18:19in keeping with
18:20the property's character.
18:23And to save
18:24much needed time
18:25and money,
18:26Scott's tiling directly
18:27on top of the old ones.
18:29Oh my goodness,
18:30there is so much work
18:31to do.
18:31This house is huge.
18:32We're working hard.
18:33I know from a fact to it
18:34it's not working
18:35as hard as we are,
18:36but hey-ho,
18:37it's not a competition.
18:38Oh, wait.
18:38Yes, it is.
18:39Excuse me, sis.
18:41We're working
18:42far harder than you
18:43as there's a mountain
18:44of clearing to do
18:45at Tracy's.
18:46She hasn't had
18:47any viewings
18:47in seven months
18:48so we've got to
18:49make her home appeal
18:50to the target market
18:51of families
18:52and couples.
18:53And with such
18:54a mammoth mission,
18:55I've called in my A-team
18:57including stylist Lucy
18:58and carpenter Tibby.
19:01Guys,
19:01please tell me
19:02what you think.
19:03What have you guys
19:03interested?
19:05We've got two weeks
19:06on this one.
19:06No, we haven't.
19:07We've got two days
19:08and we've got
19:08a limited budget.
19:10Okay.
19:10This is a family house.
19:12At the moment,
19:13Tracy's not using it
19:14as there
19:14so we need
19:15to change that, right?
19:16The bedroom,
19:17we have to transform
19:18that back into
19:19a living room.
19:19Absolutely.
19:19It's got lovely
19:20old features,
19:20the fireplace,
19:21I'm quite excited
19:22to maybe put
19:22some tiles in there.
19:24Yeah, I think
19:24it could be really nice.
19:25So we've gone past
19:26there into the
19:27narrow hallway
19:27which for me
19:28is way too narrow.
19:30That room,
19:31I don't know what it is,
19:32we need to open
19:33that space up.
19:34We have to open it up
19:34somehow.
19:35Somehow.
19:36Needs to be a dining room.
19:37We only have
19:39two days to do it.
19:39Yeah, I'd like to start.
19:40All right, let's go.
19:41The average
19:42terraced house
19:43in this area
19:44is snapped up
19:44in four months
19:45but Tracy's
19:46has been on a lot longer
19:47with the cramped,
19:48confusing
19:49one-bed-flat layout
19:50a huge reason why.
19:52So we are
19:52overhauling everything
19:54by turning it back
19:55into a family-friendly
19:56living space
19:57and keeping
19:58all the bedrooms
19:58upstairs.
20:00You've got a sledgehammer.
20:01Can I swing?
20:02Got another swing.
20:03That
20:05is very therapeutic.
20:08And the first job
20:09is the biggest
20:10as I've asked Tibby
20:11to open it all up
20:13to create a spacious
20:14hallway and dining room.
20:16Money, budget, time.
20:17The whole wall
20:18could be a bit too much.
20:20Rather than taking
20:20the complete wall down,
20:22just making the opening
20:23much more bigger.
20:24Okay.
20:25So it still gives it
20:26that illusion
20:26that the wall's been taken down.
20:27But at the same time,
20:29we're not creating
20:29too much work.
20:30Yeah, it makes sense.
20:32Not too much work
20:33is exactly what we need
20:34when making any house
20:36more sellable.
20:37Even on my own renovations
20:38and I'm developing
20:38my own properties,
20:40I like to get stuck in.
20:43Why pay for someone else
20:44to do that
20:44when you can do it yourself?
20:48We're opening up
20:49the partition wall
20:49but if it was load-bearing,
20:51it would need to be
20:52reinforced by a professional.
20:54Oh, there he goes.
20:56This is a terry
20:57that we all know and love.
21:07How much better?
21:09Looks bigger already,
21:10doesn't it?
21:10Already, yeah.
21:11So all the dust
21:12and dirt over me
21:13in my hair
21:14was worthwhile.
21:16In my beard as well.
21:18Now we have
21:19the interior layout sorted,
21:21it's time to give the outside
21:22a much-needed lick of paint.
21:24The property enthusiast
21:25called it clown-like
21:26and since three-quarters
21:28of buyers think
21:29first impressions
21:29are everything,
21:31this is no laughing matter.
21:33I'm not against red.
21:35I'm just against red
21:36when it's used like this.
21:38So we're just gonna
21:38try and dampen it down.
21:40First impressions count.
21:41I say it over
21:42and over and over.
21:43With the house
21:44looking fresher,
21:45the cherry on top
21:46is repainting
21:47the cherry red front door
21:48in a more complimentary colour.
21:50This is the blue
21:52that we're going for
21:53which I absolutely love.
21:56For just a few quid in paint,
21:57you can transform
21:58the front of your house
21:59for a fraction
22:00of the cost of a new door.
22:02The blue on the red,
22:03it will be a great contrast
22:04but then when they go
22:06through the hall
22:06into the living room,
22:07it will also be blue
22:08so it flows.
22:10Impact that colours make,
22:11very powerful
22:12and if you get it right,
22:14a prospective buyer
22:15will remember
22:15that there's colour,
22:16there's a thought
22:17that's gone into the house
22:18and also,
22:19it shows a little bit
22:19of personality.
22:21Back in Chichester,
22:22we're also going colourful
22:23to make it far more appealing
22:25to million-pound buyers.
22:27We're giving character
22:28and charm
22:29to the drab white walls
22:30and now I'm checking in
22:31on the progress
22:32of what was the worst room,
22:34the kitchen,
22:35which should be the best.
22:38Oh my goodness.
22:41Such a transformation, right?
22:42Oh my goodness.
22:43Look at what's been done
22:43in a few hours, right?
22:45It's not cost a huge amount.
22:46How much would you say that
22:47for all of the new
22:48cabinet doors and the tiles?
22:49£1,500.
22:50It just goes to show
22:51that you can make
22:52a huge change
22:53with A,
22:54not a huge amount of time
22:55and B,
22:56not a huge budget.
22:57Anyone can do this
22:58in their kitchen.
22:59Definitely.
23:00We might have spent
23:01half of our £3,000 budget here,
23:03but I know the kitchen
23:05can make or break a sale,
23:06so it's money well spent.
23:09Come through.
23:10Oh, wow.
23:11That's amazing.
23:12Wow, that's amazing.
23:13It really is.
23:14Is this our kitchen, really?
23:15Yeah.
23:16Right?
23:17Honestly,
23:18the kitchen that you had here
23:18before was dated.
23:20It didn't work in this house.
23:21I like that you said awful
23:22and not me, Eric.
23:23I can see it.
23:24It can take colour,
23:25this space.
23:25It's a big kitchen
23:26and they're just new doors.
23:27Wow, it just looks so different.
23:30And so much better.
23:31So amazing.
23:32Yeah.
23:32I mean, I'm looking at that room.
23:34It's white.
23:34It looks awful.
23:35Do you know what?
23:36I'm glad you looked at that room
23:37because that's where we're going now.
23:38Follow me.
23:38Come on.
23:39Thanks, Nat.
23:39I'll see you in a minute.
23:40Thanks, Scott.
23:40To further maximise any property's potential,
23:45every room should have a purpose.
23:47That's why I'm switching some around.
23:49There's already a large living room,
23:51so I'm turning what was the mismatched mundane dining room
23:55into a cosy snug, perfect for a family.
23:57Come on in then to the dull drab room.
24:02That's just light.
24:03Wow.
24:04This looks awful.
24:06Is that what you think?
24:07No, it really does look drab.
24:09It's a big job,
24:11so I'm getting my new colour convert to help.
24:13Wow.
24:14Love it.
24:15I think that'll make it more cosy.
24:17Yeah?
24:18So are you ready to get painting?
24:19Yeah, absolutely.
24:20Yeah.
24:20Go for it,
24:21considering you have not painted colour on walls
24:23for how long would you say?
24:24How many years?
24:25I'd say about 40.
24:2640 years?
24:28Oh, my God.
24:29Oh, yeah.
24:30Isn't that lovely?
24:31This is going to look so good.
24:33Oh, I'm so happy.
24:35This is about the best day I've had
24:36in the last 10 or 12 years.
24:39Really?
24:39Yeah.
24:41There's a lot of money
24:42that you have to now pay out a month
24:44to keep this house,
24:45which must be stressful.
24:47Well, it does keep you awake at night.
24:48£4,000 a month is not easy to find.
24:53And because it went up so fast,
24:55we were potentially thinking,
24:57well, we're going to lose the house
24:59if we don't sell it.
25:00It's been very stressful.
25:02Eric stopped sleeping altogether, I think.
25:04Oh, really?
25:05That's what it's been going on
25:06for nine months now.
25:08And there was no hope in the future.
25:11Yeah.
25:12That's what affected us a lot.
25:14Yeah, we sort of ran out of hope
25:15when people stopped viewing the house, really.
25:18Yeah.
25:19But this is looking as though
25:20it's given me hope.
25:21Good, I'm glad.
25:22And let's hope that those
25:25sleep-full nights are imminent.
25:27Yes.
25:28Yes.
25:29Well, I will be sleeping well tonight.
25:30Might be all the fumes from the paint.
25:34I'm making Eric and Tatiana's home
25:36more appealing to their target market.
25:39So, as they crack on,
25:40I've come to an apartment
25:41to show how you can do the same
25:43no matter what style of house you have.
25:45One of my top tips
25:46when you're selling your house
25:47is to put yourself in the shoes
25:48of any potential buyer.
25:50Make sure that your house
25:51is not cluttered.
25:53Depersonalise.
25:54Get rid of photos and ornaments
25:55because it makes it feel too cramped.
25:5894% of estate agents
25:59say you'll sell your home sooner
26:01if potential buyers
26:02can imagine themselves living there.
26:05Also, the flow of a room.
26:06Where have you placed your furniture?
26:08Is it interrupted your walkway in?
26:10You don't want that.
26:11You want it to just feel
26:12like it's constantly flowing.
26:14Now, when I'm talking about flow as well,
26:16I also mean the interior design thread of it.
26:18Is there a theme that runs through your home?
26:20You really want something to feel harmonious.
26:23You want your house to be
26:24as inviting as possible.
26:26You want those buyers to walk in
26:27and feel as though
26:28this could be where they want to live.
26:33I'm back at Eric and Tatiana's
26:35to see the knee snug.
26:38Oh, wow.
26:39Look at this room.
26:41Do you love it?
26:41Absolutely.
26:42Love it.
26:42I adore it.
26:43It's going to feel so cosy in here.
26:45It really is.
26:45I already can picture myself in here.
26:47Yeah.
26:48Watching TV.
26:49Yeah.
26:49Being all cosy.
26:50Yeah.
26:50That's what you want
26:51cos that's what you want
26:51perspective buyers to feel like
26:52when they walk in.
26:53They want to feel as though
26:54they could really be in this space.
26:56I've really enjoyed doing it.
26:57I've loved seeing it go
26:58from that drab white
27:00to this beautiful colour.
27:01Yeah.
27:01Look at him, drab white.
27:02I know.
27:03I'm loving this.
27:05Yeah.
27:05I'm really excited about this room now.
27:07Good.
27:07I'm glad.
27:08Keep going.
27:09You've got a little bit here
27:10and a bit here.
27:11Oh, quite a big bit in it.
27:12Good to see you.
27:13That reaction was a real ray of light
27:16as darkness falls.
27:18We can only hope
27:18prospective buyers
27:19feel the same way
27:20when they see the transformed house.
27:22It is nearly the end of the day.
27:25The house is looking less tired.
27:26My team definitely looking more tired,
27:28but it's all been worth it.
27:30We have to get this house done
27:31for Eric and Tatiana
27:32and if we've got a lot to do,
27:34we've got a lot to do.
27:35It just means we're going to have to stay here
27:36for quite a while
27:37until it's all done.
27:38But it will be
27:38and I'm looking forward to it.
27:39In West Sussex,
27:47Scarlett and I
27:48are transforming two properties
27:49that are totally unsellable.
27:52With one house each,
27:54we have just two days
27:55and £3,000
27:56to show
27:57with not much time
27:58or money,
27:59you can style any home
28:00to shift it a lot faster.
28:02Perfecting the basics
28:03like design,
28:04decor
28:05and the all-important
28:06first impression
28:07will make these properties
28:08instantly more appealing
28:09and hopefully get them
28:10finally sold.
28:12But it's tougher than ever
28:14this week
28:15with our biggest house yet
28:16to transform
28:17in just two days.
28:19It is day two
28:20at Eric and Tatiana's
28:21country house.
28:22We are turning it
28:23from dated and drab
28:24to chic and unique.
28:26There is a lot of work
28:27to be done
28:28so the pressure
28:29really is on.
28:29In Bognor,
28:32I am working tirelessly
28:34to help cancer survivor
28:35Tracy sell her home
28:36so she can start
28:38her next chapter.
28:40With lodgers living upstairs,
28:41we have made huge strides
28:42inside to turn this house
28:43as much as possible
28:44back to a traditional
28:46family-friendly layout.
28:48Now,
28:48we are turning this bedroom
28:49back to a living room
28:50before creating
28:51another sleeping area
28:52for Tracy.
28:53Yeah,
28:54I don't really like
28:55to throw furniture away.
28:56Unfortunately,
28:56this one
28:58has had its day.
28:59This is a crucial job
29:01as properly stayed homes
29:02are usually snapped up
29:04in half the time
29:05and to give it
29:06the wow factor,
29:07Lucy and I
29:07are given one of
29:08the room's main features
29:09a new lease of life.
29:12I love what you've done
29:14with the fireplace.
29:15Yeah,
29:16so it was kind of
29:16boarded up when we came.
29:17It looks very high-end.
29:19It is high-end.
29:20These stars weren't cheap.
29:22But we only needed a few
29:23so it's okay.
29:24It's classic
29:24but it's contemporary.
29:25You've highlighted
29:27what's already here.
29:28What's already here.
29:29When you've only got
29:30two days and not much budget,
29:31that's what you have to do,
29:32really.
29:32Yeah.
29:32Work with what you've got
29:33and utilise it
29:34and make the most of it.
29:35Showing off
29:36original period features
29:37like fireplaces
29:38and flooring
29:39to their full potential
29:40are serious selling points
29:42to prospective buyers.
29:44Like that, I think.
29:45You're the artistic director, right?
29:46If you can hold that there,
29:46we're going to be two hours
29:47and they're quite heavy.
29:48Perfect.
29:48Yeah, cool.
29:50As Tracy's health
29:51means she can't do
29:52any heavy work,
29:53I've got an art project
29:54for her to add colour
29:55and character to her home.
29:57Big or small,
29:57what do you want?
29:58A small one.
29:58A small one, yeah?
29:59Yeah.
30:00You can cut in.
30:01Absolutely, why not?
30:02Lucy has been very clever.
30:04She bought this frame
30:05for £5 from a secondhand shop.
30:07Wow.
30:07Now we love to upcycle.
30:09So we're going to paint it
30:11a block colour.
30:11Great.
30:12Just to make your room lift a little.
30:13Yeah.
30:14To get this house sold,
30:15what would it mean?
30:15Oh, the world.
30:16I can't wait to spend my money.
30:18Really, yeah?
30:19What is the first thing
30:20you're going to buy?
30:21A car.
30:21Okay.
30:22I've never explored
30:23this country before.
30:24I'm sure there's so much
30:25for me to see.
30:26You've come through cancer twice,
30:28but you've not let it stop you.
30:30Where did you get that from?
30:31When you've been through
30:33something as dramatic as cancer.
30:35To go through that
30:36and just sit indoors
30:37and not do anything
30:39with the rest of what
30:40I have got left
30:41would be criminal.
30:42I think so many people
30:43would look up to that.
30:45I can't tell you
30:45how excited I am.
30:46Really?
30:47Yeah.
30:47Oh, that's good.
30:48That's really good.
30:49Makes me feel alive.
30:50Oh, listen.
30:51This is for the next chapter.
30:53Yeah.
30:53And it will be a great chapter.
30:55It's going to be.
31:00In Chichista,
31:01there's another room switch
31:02underway
31:03to give Eric and Tatiana's home
31:04the much-needed wow factor
31:06and flow it deserves.
31:07So I'm turning the drab,
31:09soulless living room
31:10into an exciting,
31:11entertaining space
31:11to entice offers
31:13from affluent families.
31:15Complete with matching
31:16upcycled seating
31:17sourced from a pub
31:18for just £10 each.
31:20Perfect when starting
31:21to sell on a shoestring.
31:23I absolutely love upcycling.
31:25I think it's relaxing
31:26and it's really rewarding
31:27as well once you've finished it
31:29and you see the results.
31:30This part of it,
31:31don't love that much.
31:33Chewing gum
31:34on the bottom of chairs,
31:35gross things that you find.
31:37But you know what?
31:37Sometimes you just have
31:38to get over it,
31:39get on with it
31:39because it's going to be
31:41so much better in the end.
31:42And I can guarantee you
31:44Stuart is not doing
31:44this sort of stuff.
31:45He doesn't get his hands dirty,
31:47that one.
31:47Whereas I don't mind it.
31:49And after sanding,
31:51staining and painting,
31:52the new dining room
31:53has some sumptuous seating
31:55for a total cost
31:56of £100.
31:57Miss, what room?
31:59Ooh!
32:01Just picture this.
32:02Table moved to one side,
32:04bi-folds open,
32:05summer's day.
32:06You've got a dance floor, babe.
32:06We have a party house.
32:08Yes.
32:09I like it.
32:10Good work.
32:12I've saved the most
32:13important job till last,
32:15the bland, boring entrance.
32:17Now, I know from experience
32:18buyers make their minds up
32:19within 30 seconds
32:20and this made the property
32:22enthusiasts want to leave
32:23immediately.
32:24Oh, my gosh.
32:25This colour nap
32:26is gorgeous.
32:28It's really going to add
32:29some drama.
32:31It's as though these walls
32:32have always wanted
32:34colour on them.
32:36We've chosen modern shades
32:38with earthy tones.
32:39When using bold colours,
32:40there's a fine line
32:41between garish and cool,
32:42so we're going for cool
32:44with depth and style
32:45to attract a modern family.
32:47I think it can be tempting
32:48when redecorating to move.
32:50You want to neutralise everything
32:51and strip the house
32:52of personality and colour.
32:53However, for this house,
32:55for its grandeur,
32:56it needs personality,
32:57it can carry it.
33:03Oh, hello.
33:04Hello.
33:04Hello.
33:05What do you think of it?
33:07It's like a stately home.
33:08It is, isn't it?
33:09Yeah.
33:10And that is what you've got here.
33:11You've got a big countryside home
33:13that can take this colour,
33:15this dramatic entrance.
33:18Now, the white up there,
33:19and I can't wait
33:20to see the back of it.
33:21Yes.
33:22No more white.
33:23This is absolutely wonderful.
33:26In Bognor,
33:27it's going to be tight
33:28around this corner.
33:29It's going to be OK.
33:31Can we go a little bit more
33:31towards your wall with that?
33:32We're through.
33:34Our final task
33:35is to tackle
33:36what was the only living room
33:38in the house
33:38and that the property enthusiast
33:40found pokey and pointless.
33:42So, we're going to give it a purpose.
33:44I think it's really clever.
33:4580% of UK organisations
33:47now adopt hybrid working.
33:50So...
33:50You kind of have to move
33:51with the times.
33:51Yeah.
33:52But also, kids need to do
33:53their homework.
33:54So, you know,
33:54mum's cooking in the kitchen,
33:55the little ones are watching
33:56the telly,
33:57she's doing her homework,
33:57but during the day
33:58when the kin's at school,
33:59it can be utilised
34:00by the parents.
34:01Like, everyone needs
34:02a space to work from.
34:06Wow.
34:07I can't believe
34:07it's the same room.
34:09I can't believe it.
34:10This room is going to serve
34:11as a dual-purpose room.
34:13When a family comes
34:15to see this house,
34:16each room...
34:17Has got a purpose,
34:17Has got a purpose.
34:19So, now do you understand
34:20why to make these changes?
34:22Yeah, I get it now.
34:24Everything finally clicking
34:25for Tracey,
34:26I've got one last
34:27surprise for her.
34:28Oh, wow.
34:29Do you want me to look?
34:30A new sofa bed
34:31so she can still sleep
34:32downstairs while keeping
34:33the look of the living space
34:34for potential buyers.
34:36Comfy?
34:36Oh, it's lovely.
34:37Is it lovely?
34:38I tell you what,
34:39you wouldn't think
34:40that would be so comfortable.
34:42And you just click it.
34:43Click it up.
34:44So I can sit next to you.
34:45This is really nice.
34:47It's lovely, right?
34:48I love it.
34:49I'm going to let you
34:49just stay in here
34:50and enjoy it.
34:51Because you know what?
34:51This is what you want
34:52prospective buyers to do.
34:53And then they can imagine
34:54themselves living here.
34:55Right.
34:55Could they be four?
34:58No.
34:58No.
34:59Can they now?
35:00Yeah, I would have thought so.
35:01Enjoy it.
35:02I've got a crack on.
35:02Don't work too hard.
35:07Stuart and I only had
35:08two days and £3,000 each
35:10to turn around
35:11these unsellable homes.
35:12Please, please,
35:13let's pull together
35:13and let's rush, rush, rush,
35:14let's get it done.
35:15We can do this.
35:16The local property enthusiasts
35:17are back tomorrow
35:18to cast their new verdicts
35:19before both houses
35:20are put back on the market.
35:21Oh, ho, ho, ho.
35:23Is that the smell of victory?
35:25The sweet smell of success.
35:26Fingers crossed
35:27our hard work
35:28will change their minds
35:29and give both Tracy,
35:31Tatiana and Eric
35:32the belief
35:32that they can finally
35:33sell their homes.
35:34Tell you what,
35:36that was a mammoth,
35:38mammoth job.
35:39Oh, it was.
35:40Obviously, this is about
35:40Eric and Tatiana
35:41getting this place sold
35:42because they are struggling.
35:44I think we smashed it.
35:45What are you most happy with?
35:46Oh, man, the kitchen is unreal.
35:47Yeah, honestly,
35:48that has given this house
35:49a whole new lease of life,
35:51hasn't it?
35:51Oh, yeah.
35:52Nah, it looks premium.
35:53It doesn't look sad
35:55and tired anymore.
35:56It looks top-notch.
35:57Let's just hope
35:58everybody loves it
35:58as much as we do.
35:59Yeah, sure.
36:00Yes, in the bag.
36:04In West Sussex,
36:10Scarlett and I
36:11have been helping
36:11two desperate sets
36:12of homeowners
36:13to finally sell
36:14their properties.
36:16I was given the task
36:17of transforming
36:18Eric and Tatiana's
36:19£1.3 million country home.
36:22This is about the best day
36:24I've had
36:24in the last 10 or 12 years.
36:26Really?
36:27With no sale
36:28in nine months,
36:29their crippling mortgage payments
36:30mean they could lose their home
36:32if they don't sell soon.
36:34So, obviously,
36:37from the outside to it,
36:38there wasn't a huge amount
36:39that we could do.
36:40No, it wasn't out here
36:41that was the problem.
36:42It was in there.
36:42Exactly.
36:43So, do you want to see it?
36:43I can't wait.
36:46My team and I
36:47had just two days
36:48and a small budget
36:49to revamp
36:50their period property.
36:53Before,
36:53the exterior of Eric
36:55and Tatiana's home
36:56was impressive and grand,
36:57but the interior
36:58was boring and bland.
37:00Now,
37:03the entrance
37:03is totally transformed.
37:06Gone are the white walls
37:07with a bold colour,
37:08giving it the same
37:09wow factor
37:09as the outside.
37:11And the stylish
37:12fixtures and fittings
37:13give the luxe look
37:14of a boutique hotel,
37:15perfectly complementing
37:17the property's
37:17period features.
37:20Come in.
37:21I like it.
37:22Now,
37:23the entrance hall
37:24is befitting
37:25of the outside
37:26of the house.
37:27Yeah.
37:27But,
37:28it's only the start
37:29and it's the kitchen
37:30that was the problem
37:31for me.
37:33Eric and Tatiana's
37:34old-fashioned kitchen
37:35totally turned off fires
37:37with its out-of-date
37:38and out-of-style
37:39units and tiles.
37:46Now,
37:47it's unrecognisable.
37:48New doors and tiles
37:50in classy,
37:51contemporary colours
37:52means this kitchen
37:53has gone from drab
37:54to fab
37:54for the fraction
37:55of the cost
37:56of a new one.
37:58Come in.
38:00Oh, my word.
38:01Oh.
38:02I like it.
38:03I really do.
38:04This kitchen
38:05now looks
38:06like it's worth
38:07a lot.
38:08It looks like
38:09a £20,000 kitchen.
38:10Exactly that.
38:11It's £1,500.
38:16The dining room
38:17was dull
38:18and depressing.
38:22But,
38:23now,
38:23it's a warm,
38:24welcoming snug,
38:25ideal for a family
38:27to kick back
38:27and relax.
38:30Okay.
38:31It's really nice.
38:32It's design-led
38:33and I can imagine
38:34myself sitting here.
38:35Yeah.
38:36My favourite part
38:37about this room
38:37is the fact that
38:38I got Eric and Tatiana
38:39to come in
38:40and paint it.
38:42He's now converted
38:43into a colour lover.
38:45That is impressive.
38:46The living room
38:47was a whitewashed
38:48solar space.
38:49But,
38:50now,
38:50it's an impressive
38:51entertaining area.
38:53It looks
38:54like a million pound
38:56house now.
38:56It has got the
38:57grandeur that it deserves.
38:58Yeah.
38:58You've definitely
38:59brought this house
38:59back to life.
39:00I'm thrilled
39:01that Stuart loves
39:02the new look
39:03of this house.
39:04And I hope
39:05the local property
39:05enthusiasts agree.
39:07But,
39:07first,
39:07let's see what
39:08Eric and Tatiana think.
39:09Wow.
39:10I'm speechless.
39:12I love it so much.
39:13Yeah.
39:14Shame we have to
39:14sell this house.
39:15Absolutely wonderful.
39:17I'm surprised
39:17we were trying
39:18to sell it
39:18as it was before.
39:22You have to
39:23sell this house.
39:24Do you feel
39:24as though there's
39:24a better chance?
39:26Hope is back
39:27in our lives.
39:28Let's have a little look.
39:30But,
39:30what will the
39:30property enthusiasts
39:31think this time?
39:33Oh,
39:34wow.
39:35What a difference.
39:38Now,
39:39the inside
39:40is just as magical
39:41as the outside.
39:42It certainly
39:43looks more prestige.
39:45And more like
39:46a £1.3 million
39:47house.
39:48Well,
39:48I think this kitchen
39:49is definitely
39:50a selling point.
39:51This will add
39:52more interest
39:53and more value
39:53to the house.
39:55Wow.
39:56The theme
39:56is amazing.
39:57It really increases
39:58that salability
39:59because you feel
40:00inviting.
40:01Great use of space.
40:02I think changing
40:03these over
40:03and swapping
40:04these two rooms
40:05over was a really,
40:06really good idea.
40:07and you could
40:08really imagine
40:09living here.
40:10A family can
40:11certainly see
40:11themselves here.
40:13Great for entertaining,
40:14right onto the garden.
40:16Fantastic.
40:17This property
40:18was lacking
40:18the wow factor,
40:20but now,
40:21so well presented
40:22and it's got
40:23the luxe look,
40:24it's worth
40:24probably 1.3,
40:26possibly even more.
40:27The price might
40:27even have gone up.
40:28It's like a
40:29totally different house
40:30now that inside
40:33has the wow factor.
40:35Majestic
40:36is the word
40:37that I would use.
40:38There you go.
40:38Majestic.
40:39That's the word
40:39that I would use.
40:40That is the word
40:41of the day,
40:42I think.
40:42Majestic.
40:43What do you make
40:44of all those comments?
40:45Very encouraging.
40:46Very encouraging.
40:47Yeah.
40:49Oh, you're welcome.
40:49Thank you for letting
40:50me and my team
40:51actually come in
40:51and kind of give
40:52the house the makeover
40:53that we believed
40:54it deserved.
40:55And I really hope
40:56now I have everything
40:57crossed that you get
40:58more viewers
40:58through the door
40:59and you get this place
41:00sold
41:00so that you're not
41:01spending out
41:01so much money
41:02a month
41:03and you can actually
41:04get a nice,
41:05restful,
41:05nice sleep.
41:06Well,
41:06a day,
41:06nice sleep.
41:07Thank you for giving
41:08us hope back
41:09to our lives.
41:09Yeah,
41:10thank you so much.
41:10Thank you so much.
41:12An amazing outcome
41:13for Eric and Tatiana.
41:15I'm optimistic
41:16we've done enough
41:17to get their house
41:17sold and escape
41:18their massive mortgage
41:19and fear of losing
41:20their home.
41:24In Bognor,
41:25I cannot wait
41:28for you to see
41:28the house
41:29and just
41:29how hard
41:30we've grafted
41:31over the last
41:32two days.
41:33Before,
41:34Tracy's home
41:35may have amused
41:35the locals
41:36but was turning
41:37away buyers
41:38with its clown-like
41:39polka dots.
41:40Now they're gone
41:42and the house
41:43is still a vivid red
41:44to incorporate
41:45Tracy's taste
41:46but it's far crisper
41:47and cleaner,
41:48complemented by
41:49a fresh white wall
41:50and the gorgeous
41:51blue front door.
41:53Ooh.
41:54It looks a lot better.
41:56We've done the best
41:57of what we could do
41:58with the outside
41:59but it's the inside
42:00that's really changed.
42:01All right then,
42:02let's have a little look.
42:05Before,
42:05the front room
42:06bewildered
42:07and bemused buyers
42:08as a bedroom
42:09crammed with clutter
42:10and broken furniture.
42:14Now it's a light,
42:16bright,
42:16inviting family room
42:17perfect for
42:18prospective purchasers.
42:21Oh, wow.
42:23I love the fact
42:24that this is now
42:24a living room
42:25and actually it feels
42:26so much bigger as well
42:27than it did when
42:28the bed was in here.
42:29The middle of the house
42:31was confusing
42:31and cramped
42:32with a narrow hallway
42:33and a dressing room
42:35in disarray.
42:38With the forceful
42:40flattened,
42:40it now flows
42:41to an open plan,
42:43delightful dining room
42:44in keeping with
42:45the character
42:46of the house.
42:47Talk to me.
42:49I'm actually speechless.
42:51Have I ever thought
42:52I'd ever hear you say that?
42:53I get a real feeling
42:56of harmony
42:58coming into
42:59an actual dining room.
43:00This now
43:02is a family home.
43:03And at the rear
43:03of the house,
43:04what was the only
43:05living room
43:05is now a multifunctional
43:07modern space
43:08with a sofa bed
43:09so Tracy can still
43:10sleep downstairs
43:10until the house is sold.
43:12Oh.
43:14You've nailed it.
43:15Comfy, snug,
43:16office space.
43:17I can absolutely
43:18see a family in here
43:20as much as it hurts
43:21me to say this.
43:23You've smashed it.
43:24I want to find out
43:24what Tracy thinks of it all.
43:25Yep.
43:29So, my sister
43:30is excited
43:30with this property's
43:31potential
43:32and I'm confident
43:33we'll finally get
43:34some buyers
43:35through the door.
43:37It's just,
43:38oh, I can't believe
43:39this is my house.
43:41I could not be happier,
43:42honestly.
43:42I'm overwhelmed.
43:44Well, we all love it,
43:45but it's not about us.
43:47Oh.
43:48Oh, yes.

43:54and they've looked
43:56at the house
43:56as it is now.
43:58Are you ready?
43:59Can't wait.
44:01Well, there's no more spots,
44:03which is amazing.

44:32It looks inviting.
44:34It's really nice
44:34to have two downstairs
44:35living spaces.

44:42to hear, isn't it?
44:43Wow.
44:44I can't believe
44:44that she said that.
44:45We want people
44:46to actually envision
44:48their self here.
44:48Yeah.
44:49The last couple of years
44:50has been difficult.
44:50It has been the worst
44:51of two years in my life.
44:52Yeah, so does it mean
44:54to you now
44:54that it's all finished?
44:56It means now
44:56that I can get on
44:57with my next chapter
44:58and that means
45:01so much to me
45:02because I now know
45:03that I am going

45:09that I want to do
45:11and that's such

45:32It was a titanic task
45:34to transform Tracy's house
45:35but I'm hopeful
45:36the changes will help
45:37this two-time cancer survivor
45:38sell her home
45:40and start the next chapter
45:41in her life.
45:48Two months later,

45:50are far more positive
45:52about finally selling
45:53and are enjoying
45:54their newly colourful home
45:55much more in the meantime.

46:08Next time,
46:09we're in South Wales
46:10tackling an empty,
46:11dated house
46:12looking soulless and sad.
46:13That's a man
46:14that's host this,
46:14isn't it?
46:15It is a bit, yeah.
46:16And a home
46:17that's a chaos of colour
46:18with mountains of mess.
46:20The island,
46:21the zoo
46:21and the 15 million
46:22pieces of furniture
46:23is too much.
46:24It's our job
46:25to get them sold.
46:26Let's get this bad way up.
46:28And it's vital
46:29that we do.
46:30Now we have to get
46:31them credit cards
46:32paid off.
46:33Well, with the opening
