Released on HBO and available streaming now with an HBO Max subscription, the documentary about Hargitay’s late mother not only dug deep into the real story behind the Hollywood star’s life and tragic death, but also followed Hargitay herself coming to terms with difficult elements of her family history.
Hargitay directed and produced the project herself. But seeing hype on social media and positive reviews after positive reviews, we decided to prioritize watching it. We couldn’t be happier that we did, but we weren’t expecting the end to make us cry.
