At a Turning Point USA Event in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) was asked about combating child abuse.

00:00I have a lot of respect for you as a congresswoman because you sponsor legislation that would give
00:04child abusers the death penalty. That's a big reason why I respect you. I have a good question.
00:09What type of work have you done with the Trump administration to crack down on child abusers,
00:13especially right in the southern border, and what more is there to be done?
00:16I'm really glad that you asked this question. So what you're not noticing in the press and the
00:20media, any mainstream outlet, aside from I think Fox News and then of course some of the independent
00:24networks, is this administration has done an incredibly amazing thing in deporting actual
00:30rapists, child explorers, all of it. In fact, just today was announced that they actually
00:35found 10,000 of the over 300,000 missing children under the Biden administration.
00:44Now, it's not up to the White House, though, for the policy changes that actually have to
00:50come from Congress, and so I'm going to call out my own party. Why have people not gone
00:55on board to legislation to increase the mandatory minimums for child rapists and pedophiles in
01:00this country? Should it not be the platform of the pro-family party and the GOP to do that?
01:06So yes, we absolutely have to get aggressive, but there's been a lot of lethargy, and frankly,
01:10people don't want to take tough votes, but in my opinion, pedophiles deserve the death penalty.
01:15There's no rehabilitating a predator.
