Gotterup delighted to 'edge out' McIlroy in Scottish Open win

2x PGA Tour winner Chris Gotterup says that winning the 2025 Scottish Open is the 'biggest day of his career'.

00:00I knew today was going to be a battle.

00:02I know, obviously, everyone knows that Rory is one of the best to ever do it.

00:06But, yeah, I'm happy I edged him out.

00:10But it wasn't going to be an easy day.

00:13There was a pretty bunch.

00:15I mean, there was a bunch of guys at nine, so I knew someone was going to do something.

00:18So, yeah, I mean, I just really settled in nicely to the round after the first hole

00:24and didn't really look back.

00:27Yeah, I would say so.

00:28I mean, they're both very special.

00:30The first is the first.

00:31And I feel like a lot of people say that the second one is harder just because you have expectations and whatnot.

00:39And it's definitely more validation this week than Myrtle Beach was amazing.

00:47But this one is kind of just like I feel like I've been talking to my team and stuff about I want to take the next step.

00:54And I feel like this is part of that.
