At least eight Palestinians, most of them children, were killed and more than a dozen others were wounded in central Gaza on July 13 in an Israeli missile strike which the military said missed its intended target.

00:00At least eight Palestinians, most of them children, were killed, and more than a dozen
00:10others were wounded in central Gaza following an Israeli missile strike on Sunday.
00:16Six of those killed by the strike that hit a water distribution point at the Nusayrat
00:20refugee camp were children, while the injured victims were taken to the Al-Aouda hospital
00:25for treatment.
00:55The Israeli military said it had intended to hit an Islamic Jihad target in the area,
01:16but a malfunction had caused the missile to fall dozens of meters from the target.
01:20The military said it regretted any harm to the civilians and added that the incident
01:25was under review by the authorities.
01:27The attack was part of a series of airstrikes targeting residential areas and displacement
01:32tents across the Gaza Strip on Sunday.
01:35All in all, the airstrikes killed at least 34 people.
01:39Another family home was struck in the Al-Sawarca area, killing 10 people while another six
01:44perished after an Israeli jet bombed a house in the Shati refugee camp.
01:49Five others were killed in another airstrike that hit a house on Hamid Street in western
01:54Gaza City.
01:55U.S. President Donald Trump said he hoped talks for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in
02:00Gaza will be straightened out this week.
02:13The United States is backing a 60-day ceasefire with a phased release of hostages, Israeli troop
02:19withdrawals from parts of Gaza and talks to end the conflict.
