00:00What's up? My name is Miko, this is my drummer back.
00:13Right now, we are currently on Nightly Soar across North America.
00:18We're here for seven shows or so.
00:20I have a couple of headlines after that, too.
00:22We're just out here promoting my last EP, Internet Hometown Hero,
00:26and the deluxe that actually drops tonight when we're recording this.
00:29I don't know when this is coming out, though.
00:31But it'll be out, it'll be out.
00:33Let's take a look inside of this, is it a Chrysler?
00:36Chrysler Pacifica.
00:38Chrysler Pacifica.
00:39Sorry, I'm not the one driving, so.
00:42So how this looks, driving, is exactly what you see right now,
00:46because Miko here doesn't drive.
00:48I don't have my license.
00:49So I'm the only one that does the driving,
00:52so I am always in the passenger, not in the passenger seat, sorry,
00:55in the driver's seat, and I have my resident passenger princess
00:58beside me at all times.
00:59He doesn't let me have ox duty, though.
01:01No.
01:02Well, he falls asleep most of the time,
01:04so I put on what I want to listen to,
01:06and then sometimes he wakes up, then I'll play his music,
01:09just to annoy him.
01:11Nightly, Nightly's new album.
01:13Yeah.
01:14It's such a good record.
01:16And today we were playing through 1975,
01:20the live album that came out a couple months ago.
01:22A deeper cut, Tennyson.
01:24If anyone knows Tennyson watching, I love Tennyson.
01:26I listened through a couple of his projects.
01:29Van Camino, we were going through a couple of Nashville.
01:32Chris Barancho was out of Nashville.
01:34Yeah.
01:35Oh my God, dude.
01:36But I suppose it's longer drives,
01:38and half of them usually are me by myself with this guy who takes a nap,
01:42so I'm an album listener through those,
01:45just to make sure there's always something on that I'm enjoying,
01:48keeping me alive.
01:50We were just talking with Nightly.
01:52They told us that they cleaned up their van,
01:54they decorated it.
01:55We did not do anything of the sort.
01:57We kept it messy and real.
02:01Most of it's drinks.
02:02Yeah.
02:03There's actually a Cool Ranch,
02:05a bag of chips,
02:06and then the rest of it.
02:07Oh my God, I haven't opened this one yet.
02:08That's disgusting.
02:13Yeah, honestly, most of this we could clean up.
02:15We could.
02:16There's a lot of empty bottles in here,
02:17but it's just the last thing.
02:18Do you want to time-lapse us cleaning?
02:20Yeah.
02:21This is...
02:22How old is this bag of Cool Ranch?
02:24Too old.
02:25Way too old.
02:26This car has smelled like Cool Ranch for the last three days.
02:30Yeah, and it's been a hot couple of days,
02:31so when that sits in the car,
02:33it's not too nice.
02:35I won't lie.
02:36I honestly don't know why it's still here,
02:37but I'm going to put it back,
02:38because I feel like I should.
02:40What else?
02:41Oh, the liquid death.
02:42The liquid death.
02:43So, just being a viewer in general,
02:46my favorite thing is liquid death sparkling water.
02:48I love liquid death to death.
02:50I hate sparkling water.
02:52I'm a sparkling water, like, avid hater.
02:54There was this one time where I was at Matt's house.
02:57We were trying to run a session,
02:59and...
03:00Oh, yeah.
03:01Yeah, this was like the first time that I had ever had sparkling water.
03:05He...
03:06He has one of the machines at his house,
03:08so...
03:09He poured me a glass, gave it to me.
03:10I was like, huh, I don't really like this.
03:12And 30 minutes later, I had the worst migraine of my life
03:15for the following 17 hours.
03:18Probably not related at all, but I'm going to relate it.
03:21Uh...
03:22You haven't had sparkling water since.
03:23Yeah.
03:24Yeah.
03:25But, liquid death across the board.
03:26Us and our whole team, we all love it.
03:28Yeah.
03:29I...
03:30These are all...
03:31These are actually all the still water ones.
03:33I...
03:34I just like how it comes out of a can.
03:36I don't know why.
03:37I just like the metallic piece.
03:39We're turning this into a liquid death match.
03:41That's fine.
03:42We do love liquid death.
03:43Uh...
03:44I mean, it's usually just in our luggage.
03:45Yeah.
03:46Just to carry it.
03:47I mean, like, yeah.
03:48This run, it's just the two of us,
03:50so there isn't much going on in the rest of the van.
03:54Like, we usually have this stacked with, like, gear.
03:57We push one of the seats down to make room for everything else.
04:01But, yeah.
04:02Right now, like, it's just a bunch of stuff that we've collected over time.
04:08This bag of M&M's...
04:10For some reason, every single startup tour,
04:13we always get, like, the biggest bag of M&M's on our rider.
04:17And just, it's always the zipper one.
04:20So, we end up getting smaller ones every single time
04:23refilling the same bag over and over again.
04:26Uh...
04:27And just couldn't react.
04:28Yeah.
04:29Collect all the M&M's as we go through them.
04:31It gets really confusing when you start mixing regular M&M's with mini M&M's.
04:36That's not a very pleasant sensory experience for me.
04:40I might be the only one that's bothered by it.
04:43But, yeah.
04:44Other than that, what usually lives here is, uh,
04:47our own, our luggage, sweaters, and the M&M's.
04:51That's, uh, that's a special place.
04:52Yeah, I'm gonna have my guitar sometimes.
04:53Yeah.
04:54Yeah.
04:55Our jackets whenever we don't wanna wear them.
04:57Because this car...
04:58Is this gonna get me...
04:59Oh, yeah.
05:00Yeah.
05:01Is this gonna get me off a Chrysler ad?
05:02Possibly.
05:03This car ad doesn't get cold.
05:04Ever.
05:05So, it hasn't been that fun of a couple days in the afternoon driving at noon, one o'clock.
05:10Um, because the air conditioning doesn't feel like it does anything at this time.
05:14Like, you feel the air, you feel it's cold, but you, you yourself never get cold.
05:19It'll make us appreciate the upgrade that we get next.
05:22Yeah.
05:23When we hopefully have air conditioning in the next vehicle.
05:25Hopefully.
05:26I remember one time we thought we were going to, and it just did not pan out that way
05:31at all.
05:32Yeah.
05:33This is the bag.
05:34Um, so usually we put our rig, all our gear on top, and his guitar.
05:41Um, this, to be very clear, is his manager's.
05:44Yeah.
05:45This is not our bag.
05:46We've been, we've been trying to get a black bag to come with us because this is usually
05:51what we carry merch in because we don't know how to carry merch any better.
05:56Uh, but yeah, we've just been using whatever leftover bags my manager is willing to give
06:03us.
06:04This one's like, uh, yeah, it's, it's garbage for sure.
06:09We, we've broken off both zippers and somehow found a way to finagle it open.
06:13But they're here because merch is sold out.
06:15Yeah.
06:16So, uh, we don't need it right now because they're empty.
06:19So that's why they're sticking in here.
06:21Oh, your luggage is here, actually.
06:22Yeah, my luggage got made into the back today, but usually it's in the middle.
06:26Uh, we honestly are going through, like, we haven't done a lot of tours with other people.
06:36Like, we've had a lot of experience when it comes to, like, headlining and nothing else.
06:41So we've just been raw dogging the entire experience.
06:44And this tour and, like, a couple other opening slots that we've had are, like, kind of our
06:48first exposures to how to actually properly operate.
06:53So, funny enough, this is, like, the first time that we, we purchased lights for our merch.
07:01This seems like something that should be so obvious to us.
07:04Like, putting lights on the merch that you're displaying.
07:06But it's just something that we never thought of.
07:08Uh.
07:09Yeah.
07:10We love you guys for buying it anyways, though.
07:11Yeah.
07:12For all the people that come to Miko shows.
07:13Yeah.
07:14You guys kill it.
07:15You guys kill it even though you can't see what you're buying.
07:17Even though you can't see what you're buying.
07:18Yeah.
07:19Um.
07:20But, yeah.
07:21That's basically it.
07:22It's a pretty bare-bones setup.
07:24Yeah.
07:25This is our little van so far.
07:28Uh.
07:29Not much going on right now, but hopefully there's more eventually.
07:33But, yeah.
07:34I mean, like, this run has been fun so far.
07:36Me and you guys sing along to all the songs on Internet of Hometown Hero.
07:39It's been a blast.
07:40I can't wait for more shows.
07:42If you want to come up to one, uh.
07:44You can probably find one over on my Instagram, Miko Toronto.
07:48Or, uh, on my website, mikotoronto.com slash tour.
07:52That's, that's where you'll find the dates.
07:54Uh.
07:55Yeah.
07:56I know I have a lot of headliners coming up at the end of this year.
07:59But, besides that, I'm sure we'll be on the road whenever you're gonna look for it.
08:04So, keep an eye out.
08:06Thanks.
08:09Bye.
08:10Bye.
08:11Bye.
08:12Bye.
