00:00The year is 1914. On a small, isolated island, there is no city, no crowd of people.
00:06There's only one lighthouse, and a mystery hidden deep within the ocean.
00:09The film begins with a ship sailing steadily through the South Atlantic Ocean,
00:13heading toward its destination. On board is a weather officer named David.
00:17Their destination is a remote island, hidden in the farthest corners of the Atlantic.
00:21The government has sent David there to study the island's changing weather patterns.
00:25He is supposed to stay for almost a year to collect data, understand the strange climate shifts,
00:30and then return. Captain Axel is in charge of taking David to the island. Along with them,
00:35they carry food and all the supplies David will need for an entire year.
00:39After a long journey, they finally reach the island. Using a small boat,
00:43they land and bring all the necessary items ashore. On the island, there is a lighthouse and a small
00:48house, David's new home. They are here to replace the previous weather officer,
00:52whose time on the island has come to an end. From this moment, David becomes the new weather
00:57officer. The old officer, Robert, is supposed to return home on Captain Axel's ship. But when they
01:02enter the house, they are shocked. There is no sign of anyone. The furniture is scattered. The room is
01:07a mess. It looks like something terrible has happened. Thinking that the officer might be in
01:12the lighthouse, David and the captain rush there without wasting time. What they see at the lighthouse
01:17is even more disturbing. The entire structure is surrounded by sharp, pointed wooden stakes,
01:22as if someone deliberately blocked the entrance to keep people out. Captain Axel and David knock on
01:27the lighthouse door several times, but there is no response. Eventually, they force the door open
01:32and go inside. At the top of the lighthouse, they find a man named Gruner lying down. When they ask
01:37Gruner about the previous weather officer, he casually replies, he's dead. He had a terrible disease.
01:43But when the captain asks what happened to the body, Gruner gives an even stranger response.
01:48Maybe someone killed him. Both David and the captain are shocked by Gruner's words.
01:52They begin to suspect that something is wrong with Gruner's mental state. But without finding
01:57the old officer or his body, they can't be sure of anything. Captain Axel tells David that he still
02:02has the option to leave with them. But David decides to stay. He knows that if he can send accurate
02:07weather reports from this island to the government, he could earn a lot of money. And he needs that
02:12money badly. Before leaving, the captain gives David a gun for protection. This place might
02:17not be as safe as it seems. After the ship departs, David organizes the house and makes it livable.
02:22In one of the drawers, he finds the old officer's diary. It turns out the officer arrived on the
02:27island in 1913. The diary contains a lot of writing about the island, but most of it is unclear and
02:32some parts are incomplete. David reads every line carefully. There are also sketches of strange
02:37looking animals. David doesn't understand why the officer drew such pictures. Maybe he was lonely
02:42and did it to pass the time. On one page, there's also a photo of his wife. Tired from reading,
02:48David eventually falls asleep. The next morning, he begins his work. But when he reaches the sea,
02:53he stops in his tracks. Some stones are arranged in a strange formation between the rocks,
02:58and seashells are placed among them in an odd pattern. Confused but curious, he moves on and gets back
03:04to work. Collecting weather data is, after all, the reason he came here. While working,
03:09David looks toward the lighthouse through his binoculars and sees someone else standing with
03:14Gruner. But then he thinks, maybe it's just his imagination. It was night, and David was busy
03:19working when he heard a knock on the door. He thought it might be Gruner. David called out his
03:23name, but there was no response. As David stepped forward with a lamp in his hand, he heard strange
03:29sounds. Then, to his horror, he saw a hand, something trying to reach under the gate,
03:34but this was no human hand. Fear gripped David's heart. He immediately ran to the basement and hid
03:41there. Within moments, the mysterious creature entered the house. It began searching for David,
03:46moving silently. From a small crack in the basement wall, the creature's terrifying eyes stared directly
03:52at him. David grabbed a knife, and as soon as the eyes came close to the crack, he struck with full
03:57force. The creature let out a scream and ran away, but David knew it could return at any time. He
04:02quickly shut the basement gate, tied it tightly with a rope, and spent the entire night there,
04:07awake and afraid. The next morning, when David stepped outside, he saw strange marks in the sand.
04:13The footprints didn't look human. It was clear that this wasn't the work of any person. The tracks led
04:19straight to the sea, and then disappeared. Now David understood why Gruner had placed sharp logs around
04:24the lighthouse. They were probably meant to keep that creature away. David realized that his house
04:29wasn't safe at all. That creature might return again tonight. Frightened, David ran toward the
04:34lighthouse, shouting, Open the gate! Let me in! But Gruner refused. He said coldly, You should have
04:40left with the ship. David returned, disappointed, but he knew he had to protect himself. He closed every
04:46window of the house using wooden boards. Then, he built a fence of pointed logs all around. Outside the
04:51gate, he placed old papers and books, poured oil over them, and got them ready to be set on fire,
04:57just in case the creature came back. Luckily, he found an old box inside the house. Inside it were
05:03a gun and many bullets. Seeing this gave him a little courage, but the fear still lingered. As the
05:09sun began to set, darkness spread across the island. David sat quietly in a corner of the house,
05:15holding the gun in his hand. His breathing was heavy and fast. Suddenly, he heard a strange noise.
05:20When David stepped toward the window, he froze in shock. Not just one, but many of those strange
05:25creatures were rising from the water, all heading toward his house. Within moments, they began trying
05:30to break the gate. David immediately started shooting. Some creatures fell, but the rest became
05:35even more aggressive. They were trying to force their way in. As their numbers grew, David quickly set
05:40fire to the papers and books outside the gate. The flames scared the creatures. One by one, they fled
05:46back into the sea. But now, the fire had reached David's house. The wooden structure caught fire
05:51quickly, and flames spread like lightning. David wrapped himself in a sheet to protect himself.
05:56He broke through the gate, ran out, and hid behind a large rock near the lighthouse. His right hand was
06:01badly burned. Fortunately, it started raining at that very moment. Slowly, the rain began to put out the
06:07fire. But despite the rain lasting all night, by morning, David's house was nearly burnt to ashes.
06:13Now, if David wanted to survive, he had no choice but to take shelter in the lighthouse.
06:18He picked up his rifle and hid among the rocks nearby. When Gruner came out of the lighthouse to
06:23fetch water, David quietly followed him. His plan was to hold Gruner at gunpoint and enter the
06:28lighthouse. But just then, a strange creature attacked David. Gruner immediately stopped him
06:33and said, This is my pet. David lowered his gun but made a condition. If Gruner wanted to stay alive,
06:38he had to let David stay in the lighthouse too. David had enough gunpowder and food for both of them
06:43to survive the year. Gruner remained silent for a moment, then slowly agreed. Before evening,
06:48the two of them returned to the lighthouse, carrying whatever food was left. The next morning,
06:53while David was asleep, the creature gently licked his injured hand. To his surprise,
06:58the wound began to heal significantly. David was shocked. It was hard to believe what was
07:02happening right in front of him. At the top of the lighthouse, David saw Gruner counting the
07:07bullets he had received from the gun. The creature was also helping Gruner in its own way.
07:11This meant the creature wasn't violent. David now wanted to learn more about it from Gruner and
07:16hoped to introduce it to the world, because it was nothing short of a miracle. A strange female
07:20creature from the depths of the ocean. Darkness surrounded them, but David believed that if the
07:25truth about this creature came out, both he and Gruner would become famous worldwide. However,
07:30Gruner didn't want any of that. He had no interest in leaving the island. He had no family or loved
07:36ones. According to him, no one can live freely in society. Everyone is forced to be someone's slave
07:41or servant. That's why this island was perfect for him. It was a place where he considered himself
07:46the king, the master of his own will. That's why he had written, Gruner is king, in many parts of the
07:51island. But how did that strange female creature become his pet? Actually, Gruner had once saved her
07:57life. She got caught in his fishing net by accident when she was small. Since then, she stayed with him,
08:03and obeyed everything he said. But Gruner was an angry man, and never treated the creature with
08:08kindness. He had regular physical relations with her. Once, the creature attacked Gruner,
08:13and in return, he punished her so harshly that she began to think of herself as his slave.
08:18Perhaps that's why the other creatures came out of the sea every night, to take her back,
08:22but they couldn't attack during daylight. Meanwhile, David didn't want to live there anymore.
08:27He wanted to leave the island by sending a signal to any ship passing by, but it wasn't that easy.
08:32Gruner claimed that no ships ever came near the island, but David didn't believe him. He didn't
08:36like living there at all. He felt suffocated, and just wanted to escape as soon as possible.
08:41One evening, Gruner told him to get ready with the gun, because the creatures could attack at any
08:46moment. David got ready to switch on the lighthouse light, and within a short time, a large number of
08:51creatures emerged from the sea. They started moving toward the lighthouse. Gruner kept firing at them,
08:57but David was terrified. He backed away and hid inside the lighthouse. Even though Gruner kept
09:02calling for him to help, David just sat quietly in a corner until he eventually fainted. Gruner had
09:07to fight off the creatures alone. The next morning, Gruner angrily woke him up and said,
09:12If you want to stay in the lighthouse, you'll have to do everything I say. Bring water every day,
09:17take care of small and big tasks around the lighthouse, and do guard duty with me at night.
09:21Whether David liked it or not, he had no choice. David agreed to do all the work Gruner gave him,
09:27but there was one thing he hated. Gruner tortured the female creature in different ways every day.
09:32But what could a man who had been alone on a deserted island for years do? His mental state
09:37was bound to break down. David thought the same. Maybe Gruner had lost his mind. Still,
09:42David had to obey him. It was night again, and both of them were on guard duty. The creatures came out
09:48of the sea once more. But this time, David wasn't afraid. He fired his gun. However, Gruner didn't
09:54help him this time. Instead, he locked David outside the lighthouse and sat silently inside,
09:59wanting David to learn how to fight these creatures, or die trying. That night passed,
10:05and when morning came, Gruner found David sitting outside the lighthouse gate,
10:09soaked in blood. He had survived. He had learned to fight the creatures. Time went on. David kept
10:14fighting the creatures at night and doing Gruner's lighthouse duties during the day. The island had
10:19become like a prison to him. He kept thinking about when he'd finally be free to leave. Over time,
10:24David formed a strange friendship with the female creature. He started to feel sorry for her. He now
10:29understood how painful it is to live alone, far from your own people. Maybe the creature felt the
10:34same way. David even gave her a name. Aenerys. Then, one day, he noticed that the attacks from the
10:40creatures had started to decrease. David thought maybe they migrate somewhere else during the
10:45winter like whales do. Or perhaps they had realized that fighting the two men wouldn't help. But Gruner
10:50clearly said, absolutely not. They will attack again. Right now, they're reproducing. Their
10:56numbers are increasing. Some more days passed like this. One night after dinner, Gruner and David started
11:01playing chess to pass the time. But this is where Gruner made a big mistake. They both got so caught up in
11:07the game that they forgot to turn on the lighthouse lights. Taking advantage of the darkness, the
11:11creatures attacked them. David saw that the creatures had now bred. Their numbers were so large
11:15that even the two of them together couldn't fight for long. The bullets were also almost finished.
11:20Somehow, they managed to escape and reach the top of the lighthouse. But in the meantime, Gruner
11:25suffered a deep injury to his leg. The creatures were trying to break into the lighthouse, and David and
11:30Gruner couldn't see any way out. They were ready to give up, but luckily, it was morning. As the sun
11:35slowly rose, the creatures retreated into the sea. Anerys tried to heal Gruner's wounds. But by now,
11:41David had realized he couldn't win this battle against the creatures. Their bullets were almost
11:45gone, and they didn't have enough food to survive for long. The next day, by chance, while David was
11:51walking outside the lighthouse, he saw a ship in the distance. He quickly grabbed the flare gun and ran to
11:56signal the ship. But Gruner stopped him. He didn't want David to leave. At that moment, Anerys attacked
12:02Gruner. She wanted to protect David from him. Gruner didn't want anyone to leave the island.
12:06This was his own world, where he lived like a king. Slowly, the ship disappeared into the sea before
12:12David's eyes. Now, he had nothing left to do. A few more days passed like this. Gruner continued
12:18treating both David and Anerys badly. One day, David gifted Anerys a small toy boat he had made from
12:24whale bones. He thought it might cheer her up. But when Anerys saw the boat, she led David away from the
12:29lighthouse. She took him to a hidden corner of the island where a real boat was kept.
12:34When David asked Gruner about the boat, he admitted that he already knew about it.
12:37A few months ago, an armed smuggling ship carrying a large supply of ammunition had sunk near the
12:43island during a storm. Some people had made it to the island using that boat, but by morning,
12:47none of them had survived. All of them were killed by the creatures. Hearing this, an idea came to David's
12:53mind. He had something like a diving suit. If someone wore that suit and dove into that part of the sea,
12:59they might find bullets or dynamite that could help fight the monsters. But Gruner refused outright.
13:05He didn't even want to go near that part of the sea. Still, David was ready to take the risk,
13:10even if it meant putting his life on the line. A few more days passed like this. A deep connection
13:15began to form between David and Anerys. David started to like her. Gruner secretly noticed this,
13:20and for the first time, a thought crossed his mind. Maybe he should help David, but his real
13:25intention was something else. He wanted David to bring the dynamite boxes up from the sea with his
13:30help, and then leave David alone in the water so the creatures would kill him. That way, the dynamite
13:35would be his, and Anerys would once again become his slave. The two of them reached the spot. David
13:41wore the diving suit and dove into the sea. The ship was completely destroyed, but luckily he found
13:46some dynamite boxes. Suddenly, some creatures appeared in front of him. David panicked and fell. The iron
13:52diving suit was so heavy he couldn't move. He wasn't even able to send a signal to Gruner. Gruner
13:56thought the creatures were attacking David, but actually, there were only two small children.
14:01David created pressure underwater and left the diving suit behind. He swam to the surface on his
14:05own. They found some old boxes containing dynamite. They laid two layers of dynamite around the lighthouse
14:11so that when the next attack came, they could finish off the monsters in one blow. A few months passed
14:16and snow began to fall. Once again, the creatures disappeared. The attacks had stopped. Now, their
14:22main task was to maintain the lighthouse and guard it as usual. Gruner had lost his patience. He thought
14:27Anerys had told the monsters about the dynamite, and that's why they weren't attacking anymore. In a rage,
14:32he started beating Anerys, but David stopped him. Finally, both of them made a new plan to leave the
14:38lighthouse's main gate open. That way, when the creatures came, they could lure them in and blow them
14:43up with the dynamite. Soon, the creatures emerged from the sea. They headed straight toward the
14:48lighthouse and attacked David as soon as they reached the gate. David bravely fought them. As soon as the
14:54creatures neared the lighthouse, Gruner pressed the lever for the dynamite, but nothing happened.
14:58David had disconnected the wiring earlier and had forgotten to reconnect it. David quickly ran upstairs
15:03to reconnect the wires. By then, the creatures were climbing the lighthouse, and only Gruner was left to
15:09stop them. As soon as the connection was complete, David triggered the first explosion. Many creatures
15:14died in the blast, but many more were still ready to attack. So, Gruner triggered the second layer of
15:19dynamite. The blast was massive, and both of them were knocked unconscious. The next morning, when they
15:25regained consciousness, Anerys was nowhere to be found. Dead creatures lay scattered everywhere. Gruner was
15:31going around killing the injured ones. Then David noticed a necklace around one of the creature's necks,
15:36and in that moment, he realized his biggest mistake. The creatures he had always believed
15:41to be violent were actually civilized beings, just like humans. They just couldn't speak. Maybe their
15:47attack on the lighthouse had a reason, but for Gruner, none of it mattered. In his eyes, he was the king of
15:53this island. After that day, those creatures never attacked like that again. But every day, a crying sound
16:00came from the seashore. David still didn't realize how much damage they had caused, how many families had been
16:05broken, how many children had lost their loved ones, all because of a misunderstanding. The next day,
16:11David saw some small children of those creatures in the sea. They were the ones who had lost their
16:16families. David made a circle of stones and placed the small toy boat in the center, hoping Anerys would
16:22return. But no matter how long he waited, she never came back. One morning, David found Gruner lying
16:27unconscious. Some old belongings were scattered around him. Among them was an old photograph. As soon as David
16:33looked at it, he was shocked. The woman in the photo was the same one he had seen in the diary of the first
16:38weather officer on his first day. That woman was Gruner's wife. This meant Gruner was the original weather
16:44officer who had come to the island a year ago. His real name was Robert, but he had changed it because he no longer
16:49wanted to leave the island. After seeing all this, David also gave up hope of ever leaving the island. The next evening,
16:56when David went to the seashore, he noticed that the small toy boat in the circle was gone. In its place, he saw a small
17:03child, holding the boat in its hands. David threw his torch into the middle of the circle to show he
17:08had no intention to fight. He didn't want to hurt anyone. He only wanted to be friends. After a while,
17:15Anerys appeared from the waves. Behind her, the rest of the creatures also emerged from the sea.
17:20But this time, no one attacked David. He was calm now. Their only intention was to find a safe place
17:25for their children, like any living being would. They didn't like the sudden arrival of humans on the
17:30island, so they attacked every night. But who could explain this to Gruner? He still saw himself
17:35as the island's ruler. Gruner came out of the lighthouse with a gun in his hand. David tried to
17:40explain that the creatures didn't want to fight. They wanted peace. But Gruner refused to listen.
17:45He shouted at Anerys and told her to go inside. But for the first time, Anerys didn't obey. She was no
17:52longer his servant. Now she was a mother, standing up for her children. Gruner began to feel weak inside,
17:58because no one was following his orders anymore. Angry and frustrated, he walked back toward the
18:03lighthouse. David hoped that maybe Gruner had finally realized that every creature deserves
18:08freedom. No one wants to live as a slave. But Gruner wasn't thinking clearly. As soon as he
18:13reached the lighthouse, he fired a flare from the signal gun. It hit a small creature child directly.
18:19The child died instantly. All the creatures fled in fear, and Anerys lost all her trust in David.
18:24Overcome with rage, David rushed to the lighthouse, crashed into Gruner and started fighting him. He
18:30shouted, Why did you do this? They just wanted peace. But Gruner had become so violent that he
18:35was ready to kill David. Just as he was about to strike with an axe, David called him by his real
18:40name, Robert. Hearing his real name, Gruner froze. The truth is, Robert was never like this. But after
18:46arriving on the island, his mental state had slowly fallen apart. The loneliness, the loss of his wife,
18:52and deep depression had changed him. The creatures had never wanted war. They just wanted peace. But
18:57Gruner had killed them to feel powerful. Now, finally, Gruner realized his mistake. He surrendered
19:03himself to the creatures, and within moments, they killed him. David locked himself inside the
19:08lighthouse. Time passed. A year later, a government officer arrived on the island. Along with a new
19:13weather officer, they had come to take David away from the lighthouse. But the officer mistakenly
19:18thought David was Gruner, and David didn't correct him. He quietly went to the balcony
19:22and stood there without saying a word. Now he too didn't want to leave the island, just
19:26like Gruner. During this time, Anaris was happy with her family. She no longer feared a man
19:31like Gruner. Now she could live freely on land and in the sea.
