00:00welcome to coach's corner and coach got to talk about a new coach and that's mike brown and the

00:15impact that he's going to have with the new york knicks coming over obviously from sacramento and

00:20when you look at mike brown thing you want to look at to me is obviously you know the wins

00:25obviously 454 wins 304 losses 10 games over 500 in regards to his playoff record but it's it's this

00:33right here which is the three-time champion as an assistant coach with the golden state warriors

00:38i really believe as a coach sometimes you have to lose your job and go back and be an assistant

00:45and try and learn more about the game to help elevate yourself for the next time that you get

00:52a head coaching job and he's been a two-time nba coach of the year uh mike brown so when you look

00:58at mike brown right what what was about what was great about mike brown is his defense that is what

01:04you looked at but when people look at him as sacramento they look at wow dearon fox doesn't

01:09play a ton of defense devonis he gets worked on a lot harrison barnes that's the team with decent

01:13defender kevin huerta doesn't play a lot malik monk so now he he goes to a place like new york okay and

01:21he's got guys that can defend mitchell robbs a great rim protector obviously michael bridges og and

01:28anobi so he's got defenders on that roster but offensively when he went to golden state he learned

01:35that split screen action right one when you have a a some kind of screen someone to the basket someone

01:40to the ball so he's able to use that so how does that benefit new york when you look at new york going

01:46into next year they're obviously the favorites to win the atlantic division title uh minus 210 they're

01:52plus 260 to win the east that's the best odds second best odds at seven half to win one to win

01:58the nba championship they should be the favorite to knees why because everybody's hurt so and there's

02:04the pressures on new york because if they don't make it the nba finals it's a failure but you get

02:09yabaselli you get jordan clarkson off the bench and that's what makes them dangerous in regards to

02:16that so where do the adjustments come folks the adjustments come with jalen brunson that is going to

02:23be the big adjustment that i see with the new york nicks and how they use him right because when you look

02:29at the way they played in sacramento they used a lot of demonic opponents at the high post that brings him

02:36i don't know if carl anthony towns is gonna be bombing threes a ton they may put him at the pinch

02:42pole so one thing you should be looking at early in the year is the assist prop carl anthony towns

02:47actually can pass the ball a little bit their offense is going to be much better kevin in regards to

02:52what they do and how they play defensively they won't be much worse but we both know if the nicks

02:58don't make the nba finals this season it's going to be a disappointment i think that that is the

03:03the entire reason why mike brown ends up the coach and not because they believe mike brown is a

03:08guarantee to get them to the finals but because they didn't trust tom thibodeau to get that job done

03:15mike brown is a risk it may not work the mike brown resume is not spotless this is someone who

03:22had a falling out it felt like with the superstar and d'aaron fox well star player in sacramento in

03:27d'aaron fox and the expectations are lofty the win total for the nicks is 52 and a half

03:33more wins than they had last year at 51 and 31 and the only time coach that we saw mike brown win 53

03:40games was when he was in cleveland with lebron maybe maybe mike brown is here because maybe

03:50maybe lebron james ah maybe i don't know if we should go i don't know say why i mean is that great

03:56am i talking crazy am i getting ahead of myself coach no because here he comes to save the day

04:03lebron james now listen the knicks have the players that can move it and it's going to be interesting

04:08and we'll talk more about lebron moving forward but let's put it this way and i'm the one that always

04:14thinks that jordan is to go but if lebron goes to the knicks number one they're going to go over that 52

04:20and a half win total if lebron goes to the knicks if lebron lebron goes to the knicks and he wins the

04:27championship 34th and 7th avenue statue up that's it game over drive home safely jay lebron said i love

04:36you you my guy but i will let the devil come to the knicks to win the championship and if lebron does it

04:42i may actually call him the goat
