00:00Since May 2025, thieves have been targeting ATMs across Orange County using the same method.
00:08Steal a van, often from a church, and using it to rip the ATM from the ground.
00:13In the early morning hours of July 4th, our investigators caught a trio of criminals in the act.
00:19The suspects were caught stealing an ATM from the coin laundry cafe on Curry Ford Road.
00:24Using a stolen van, they backed up directly in front of the stand-alone ATM.
00:31Security footage captured the suspects working together, using the van to yank the ATM loose.
00:37They then loaded it into the back of the van.
00:40As they drove off, our helicopter followed from above.
00:44When the time was right, stop sticks were deployed.
00:47Good stick, good stick.
00:50The van hit the stop sticks, continued briefly, and then crashed into the side of a semi-truck.
00:57The suspects bailed out on foot, but they didn't get far.
01:02All three were quickly apprehended by deputies.
