Hadi to defend PAS presidency

Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has confirmed that he will defend his position as PAS president at the party's 71st Muktamar in Kedah this September.  Abdul Hadi, who is also Member of Parliament for Marang, said he has no intention of relinquishing the presidency, a post he has held for more than 20 years. 00:26Abdul Hadi, who recently underwent treatment at the National Heart Institute in June, reassured

00:32that his health remains strong and that he plans to continue serving the party for the

00:37rest of his life.

00:39Meanwhile, on the issue of Tanshri Muhyiddin Yasin's position as Perikatan National Chairman,

00:45Abdul Hadi stated that the matter would be discussed collectively with component parties,

00:51stressing that the decision does not rest with PAS alone.

00:55This comes amid recent speculation of a leadership shake-up within the coalition, a claim that

01:01Muhyiddin has strongly denied.
