00:00A Democrat running in Colorado's most closely contested congressional district just got busted using a photo of Canadian mountains in place of Colorado mountains on his social media.
00:10It is the biggest development in that race since last week when the Republican incumbent voted to cut about a trillion dollars in funding from Medicaid and other health programs.
00:20Democrat Manny Rutnell was caught using a photo of Canadian mountains instead of Colorado mountains on his social media account.
00:26The conservative media outlet that spotted it wrote, quote, not sure how many Coloradans live there.
00:31We do know how many Coloradans living in the 8th Congressional District are on Medicaid.
00:35About 200,000 or one in three people in Republican Rep. Gabe Evans' district.
00:40Evans just voted for the budget plan that cuts nearly one trillion dollars from Medicaid and other health spending.
00:45The National Republican Congressional Committee mocked Rutnell's photo error saying, quote, he can't even tell the difference between Canada and Colorado.
00:52One difference between Canada and Colorado is health care. In Canada, health care is universal.
00:57In Colorado, the independent health policy group KFF estimates that almost 200,000 Coloradans could lose their health coverage as a result of the Medicaid cuts Evans supported.
01:07With 16 months until the midterms, we will be watching closely to see whether Manny Rutnell's photo error or Representative Evans' vote to cut Medicaid impacts that race.
