00:00All right, what about on the National League MVP side?
00:04Well, after a two-home run performance this afternoon by Pete Crow Armstrong,
00:10he's actually now 10-1 there.
00:13As you see some movement, he jumped over Soto this afternoon after that.
00:18Otani's still minus 1,300.
00:22I got to tell you, and again, it is what it is.
00:25They'll probably give him the MVP anyway.
00:26Who cares?
00:27I don't think it should be that wide of a margin, honestly,
00:33that he should be the overwhelming, no doubt about it, favorite.
00:38I know he's got 31 homers or 32 homers, whatever he has.
00:43I don't think it's that he's had as big an impactful year as he did last year
00:49or the year before that.
00:50I really don't.
00:51And maybe that's just people will say I'm just an Otani hater, whatever.
00:54But I don't think he's had that great a year.
00:57I mean, for him, I should say.
00:59For him, he hasn't had that great a year.
01:00Yes, 31 homers.
01:02He's got 58 RBIs.
01:03You know, 31 of those were himself touching home on the homers.
01:07You know, the other stats just aren't there for me.
01:10But he's Otani, so, you know, you're not allowed to say that.
01:14And they just love him so much.
01:18Like, you know, sponsors, the networks.
01:22I mean, every single baseball outlet, they can never get enough of Otani.
01:29They talk about him.
01:31It's just a done deal already.
01:33They've already given it to him that he's the MVP.
01:36They actually put him in a realm of untouchable, that he's just so much better than everyone else in the league, in the NL, that it's just inevitable.
01:48It's inevitable he's going to win it, even though, you know, look at this.
01:51Now, how in God's name is this guy Soto right there, and he's not an all-star?
01:57How is that possible to me?
02:01Explain that to me.
02:02Another thing.
02:04I can't explain that at all from that aspect.
02:08I'm just waiting for him to get added to the game by Saturday.
02:12You know, like, what is the problem here?
02:13Well, the problem is the American League had a whole bunch of guys who weren't playing, which is why all the additions have come on the American League side.
02:22I don't think any of those outfielders on the NL are going to sit it out.
02:27Like, Pete Crowe and Tucker and, you know, Acuna's not.
02:30The game's in Atlanta.
02:32Tatis.
02:33I just don't think any of those guys are going to pull out of it for Soto to be added at this point, honestly.
02:41Unless somebody else does and they do it from another position.
02:42Bobby is planning on having all of those players beaned in the head tonight in their games.
02:48Yeah.
02:49But, yeah, I'm sorry.
02:50I know I'm not allowed to say bad things about Otani.
02:53But all of his numbers are down from the last couple years.
02:57Like, he's hitting .279 this year.
02:59He hit .310 last year.
03:01Even for the real stat geeks out there, his war, which everyone loves, was 9.2 last year.
03:11It's 4.0 this year.
03:13His numbers are not what they were a year ago.
03:15So, I'm not saying he's not the MVP.
03:19He shouldn't be that big of a favorite to be the MVP.
03:23By the way, Marenzi's not here, as you know.
03:26He's on his wedding weekend.
03:28And you're allowed to say whatever you want about the Dodgers.
03:32Yeah.
03:33Look, and, you know, I'm sure he's going to win because he's now pitching again, too.
03:37So, he hits and he pitches.
03:39And that makes it automatic.
03:41So, that cancels out the fact that the rest of his stats aren't as good this year as they were last year.
03:46So, you think Crow Armstrong should be the MVP at the break?
03:50What I'm saying is, is...
03:52It's too wide a gap, is what you're saying.
03:54Right.
03:55Right.
03:55I think Otani should be the favorite.
03:57But he should be, like, you know, minus 1.200.
04:01And Pete Crow should be plus 5.
04:02Like, I just feel like it should be closer.
04:04I think you're right.
04:05Minus 1.500.
04:06Like, that basically is like Judge.
04:08Like, it's over.
