00:00Seriously.
00:01Seriously?
00:02What was your biggest challenge on the film?
00:04Now, I feel like my biggest challenge working on the movie was actually being the only black person on set.
00:12Sometimes it's a bit difficult to kind of lock in on certain things,
00:16like, you know, when you don't have anyone that's from where you're from
00:19or seeing anyone that kind of looks like you and whatever.
00:22But I felt like it done the character justice in having that
00:25because it meant that I was very, very isolated in that sense
00:29and didn't really have anyone to go to apart from the people that I was working with, you know.
00:33And that's not to say that everyone I was working with was inconsiderate or nothing like that.
00:37You know, everyone was there for me and we had a great time.
00:39But it was just, yeah, I feel like that was a difficult part of the movie for me.
00:43My biggest challenge was playing someone that I didn't like.
00:46I'd never done that before.
00:47I'd always sought out characters that I could, like, look up to or, you know,
00:52and that's why I wanted to play them.
00:53I was trying to find people who were better than me
00:55and that's why you want to be these people.
00:58It was, like, something inspiring.
00:59And for the first time ever to read a character, I don't like this person at all.
01:04And now I have to be this person for a couple months.
01:08It kind of sucked.
01:09Dude, this is fun.
01:10Give three words to describe the other.
01:13For sure.
01:14Very charming guy.
01:15Charming?
01:16I say charismatic.
01:17Aw.
01:18Fun.
01:19I was going to say funny.
01:21Like, Luke is absolutely hilarious.
01:24Dude, I got to do it.
01:25Handsome.
01:26Sorry.
01:27That's handsome as hell, dude.
01:28He's going to hate this word.
01:29Oh, no.
01:30But southern.
01:31I remember, I was like, you actually talk like that?
01:36That's not funny.
01:37What is Eddington in a few words?
01:41Eddington is a small town in New Mexico.
01:46Within the context of the film, it's sort of a microcosm of America during Covid.
01:51I describe it as a small town where you have loads of different characters that ultimately
02:00want to become more senior in wherever they are trying to work.
02:06And that is all led by power.
02:08I guess power searching.
02:09So what are the consequences of wanting that power entails?
02:14Obviously, you know, the underbelly of Covid.
02:17Well, not even the underbelly.
02:18It's very much there.
02:20and the theme of Covid.
02:22And, yeah.
02:23Does your character resemble you?
02:25I hope not.
02:26I mean, anytime you're playing anybody, you got to bring yourself to it, right?
02:31To do it correctly means that you've got to insert your true essence, your heart, your soul,
02:37your brain into the situation that this character's in.
02:41There's a lot of things about this guy I don't agree with.
02:43And to try to find those things within myself was not super fun, to be honest.
02:48He kind of looks like me.
02:49He's hot, bro.
02:50I am someone that's always striving for greatness.
02:53And that's something that fueled my call.
02:55That belief in other people.
02:56He did not ever believe that the sheriff would do something bad to him.
03:00And I feel like I have that kind of hope in people, you know.
03:02Sometimes, yeah, people call it naivety.
03:04But it's just like until people show me otherwise, I do, you know, just trust and love people.
03:10I feel like we definitely connect in that way.
03:12I feel like we definitely connect in that way.
03:13like we have to learn and we actually connect in that way.
03:16I know.
03:17And the next thing, you know, I can continue what to do.
03:18I hope that I am being able to do this.
03:19I love you, and I hope you like to see a little bit of the race.
03:20I don't know.
03:21I'm so excited for that.
03:22But I have fun.
03:23So, obviously, you're so excited to be able to do that.
03:24So, you can all the things right now.
03:25I'm so excited for this.
