00:00India's defense scientists are now working on a new version of the Agni-5 missile but unlike the
00:11older version this one won't carry nuclear weapons instead it will carry a very heavy
00:18normal warhead made specially to destroy tough underground bunkers and other strong enemy
00:25targets this is important because India doesn't have heavy bombers like America's B2 or B-52 which
00:34can carry huge bombs over long distances India's current fighter jets like the Sukhoi and Rafael
00:43are modern and powerful but they can't carry extremely heavy bombs deep into enemy territory
00:50but this new missile aims to fill that gap
00:57the new Agni-5 missile will have a very large normal warhead weighing around 7.5 to 8 tons
01:07because of this extra weight its range will go down from over 5000 kilometers to about 2500 kilometers
01:17but that's still enough for most missions in the region another important part is that this
01:25missile is being designed to beat enemy missile defense systems this idea comes from tech tested
01:32in 2024 when India successfully tested multiple warheads on a single missile
01:39the missile will come with two types of warheads the first is a bunker buster it can go deep underground
01:52up to 80 or even 100 meters before exploding this could destroy enemy command centers missile silos or hidden
02:03nuclear storage places the second is an air burst warhead which exploits in the air above the target this creates a powerful shock wave and spread metal fragments over a big area with this a single missile could damage or destroy an entire air base runways park aircraft radar systems and support buildings all at once
02:31the agni-5 missile is launched from a road vehicle so it can be moved and hidden easily before launch this makes it harder for the enemy to spot and target
02:47even though it's based on a missile originally made for nuclear use this new version will help the indian air force do deep strikes with normal weapons without needing a heavy bomber fleet
03:00By turning a tested missile into a powerful non nuclear weapon India will have a new way to keep enemy defenses air bases and command centers at risk giving the air force a real edge in future conflicts
