00:00Ben Lai.
00:01My constituent, Mr Brian Buckle, is a victim of a miscarriage of justice.
00:06He was wrongfully imprisoned for over five years before being exonerated at retrial.
00:12Despite a jury unanimously finding him not guilty of the crimes for which he was imprisoned
00:17and the devastating impact this injustice continues to have on him and his family, his application
00:23for compensation was denied due to a 2014 change to the law that requires those who have been
00:28wrongfully imprisoned to prove their innocence beyond all reasonable doubt.
00:34This is an almost impossible hurdle to overcome, and so would the Prime Minister consider meeting
00:39with Mr Buckle to discuss his case and lend his support to an appeals campaign for fair compensation
00:45for those who have been victims of a miscarriage of justice?
00:48The Prime Minister for raising this particular case, which saw a grave miscarriage of justice.
00:55In relation to the statutory test for compensation, this has been raised in the House before,
01:01and I have undertaken to have a look at it.
01:06I know he is working, I think, with the Minister responsible on the particular case that he
01:10has made the same money for his behalf for the
01:14very human rights to the moment.
01:15And that has been an American prince, as a civil model,
01:18and he has done it.
01:23The Prime Minister has done it.
01:24The Prime Minister has done it.
01:25This has made it easy to win.
01:27It is a reality in his work for our lives.
01:28It is the honour, the Prime Minister of Justice.
01:30It has been a leading to Jerusalem, the Prime Minister who has taken us
01:32to help us in terms of a very early哈哈.
