00:00Dozens of climbers were temporarily stranded, while others had to brave the strong currents
00:11of water flowing from the top of Mount Kinabalu following downpours in the wee hours of Thursday.
00:18From videos circulating online, groups of climbers were seen clinging onto the ropes,
00:23amidst the water flow, believed to be around 5 a.m. Their guides led the way in the front,
00:29and at the end of each group, to make sure that they threaded on safe and secure footings.
00:35According to sources on the mountain, those who were late to make their way up had to postpone
00:40their ascend due to the rain, but at around 3.30 a.m., many chose to turn back from Sayat Sayat,
00:46as there was no signs of the rain ceasing. As for those who had to descend from the peak,
00:51they made it safely to the Labanrata rest house at around 6 a.m.
