00:00It came to pass that Enoch's name during his lifetime was raised aloft to that Son of Man and to the Lord of Spirits from among those who dwell on the earth.
00:12He was carried aloft on the chariots of the Spirit, and his name vanished among the heavenly hosts.
00:19From that day Enoch was no longer numbered among the living, for he was set between the two winds, the north and the west,
00:27where the angels took the cords to measure the place for the elect and righteous.
00:33There he saw the first fathers and the righteous, who from the beginning dwell in that place.
00:47After this, Enoch's spirit was translated and ascended into the heavens, where he saw the holy sons of God.
00:54They stepped on flames of fire, their garments were white, and their faces shone like snow.
01:02He saw two streams of fire, and the light of that fire shone like hyacinth, causing him to fall on his face before the Lord of Spirits.
01:10The angel Michael seized Enoch by his right hand, lifting him up and leading him into all the secrets of righteousness.
01:17Michael showed him all the secrets of the ends of the heavens, the chambers of all the stars, and all the luminaries,
01:25whence they proceed before the face of the Holy Ones.
01:29Enoch's spirit was then translated into the heaven of heavens, where he saw a structure built of crystals,
01:37with tongues of living fire between those crystals.
01:41His spirit saw the girdle that girt that house of fire, with streams of living fire surrounding it on all four sides.
01:48Around this magnificent structure were Seraphim, Cherubim, and Ophanim, who neither sleep nor rest, guarding the throne of his glory.
01:59Enoch saw an uncountable multitude of angels, thousands upon thousands and ten thousand times ten thousand, encircling the house.
02:08Among them, Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Phanuel, and the holy angels who are above the heavens, went in and out of that house.
02:18These angels came forth from the house, led by the head of days, whose head was white and pure as wool, and whose raiment was indescribable.
02:29Enoch fell on his face, his whole body becoming relaxed as his spirit was transfigured.
02:34He cried out with a loud voice, filled with the spirit of power, blessing, glorifying, and extolling the Lord of Spirits.
02:43The blessings that flowed from Enoch's mouth were well-pleasing before the head of days.
02:49The head of days, accompanied by Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Phanuel, and countless angels, came to Enoch and greeted him with his voice.
02:59He said, This is the Son of Man who is born unto righteousness, and righteousness abides over him, and the righteousness of the head of days forsakes him not.
03:11He continued, He proclaims unto thee peace in the name of the world to come, for from hence has proceeded peace since the creation of the world, and so shall it be unto thee for ever and ever.
03:25All shall walk in his ways, since righteousness never forsaketh him.
03:30With him will be their dwelling places, and with him their heritage, and they shall not be separated from him for ever and ever.
03:41The head of days concluded, There shall be length of days with that Son of Man, and the righteous shall have peace and an upright way in the name of the Lord of Spirits, for ever and ever.
03:56Enoch continued to recount the divine knowledge imparted to him, revealing the secrets of the luminaries and their celestial courses.
04:05Guided by Uriel, the holy angel, Enoch was shown the intricate workings of the heavens.
04:10Uriel revealed to Enoch the detailed laws governing the celestial bodies.
04:15He showed how each luminary follows its appointed course, according to their classes, dominions, and seasons.
04:23These laws would persist until the new creation, which will endure for eternity.
04:28The first law of the luminaries, Uriel explained, is that the sun rises in the eastern portals of the heaven and sets in the western portals.
04:37There are six portals in the east and six in the west through which the sun and moon rise and set, along with the stars and their leaders, who follow each other in precise order.
04:51Many windows flank these portals on the right and left.
04:54The great luminary, named the sun, emerges first.
05:00Its circumference is like the expanse of the heavens, filled with illuminating and heating fire.
05:07The wind drives the chariot on which the sun ascends.
05:11The sun descends from the heavens and returns through the north to reach the east, guided to the appropriate portal where it shines upon the heavens.
05:20In the first month, the sun rises in the great portal, the fourth portal.
05:27This portal has twelve window openings, from which flames burst forth in their season.
05:33For thirty mornings, the sun rises through this fourth portal and sets in the fourth portal in the west.
05:40During this period, the day lengthens, while the night shortens until the thirtieth morning, when the day is longer than the night by a ninth part.
05:50The sun then rises from the fourth portal and sets in the fourth before moving to the fifth portal in the east.
05:57There it rises for thirty mornings and sets in the fifth portal.
06:02The day continues to lengthen, becoming eleven parts, while the night shortens to seven parts.
06:08The sun rises and sets in the sixth portal for thirty-one mornings, doubling the length of the day compared to the night.
06:16The day becomes twelve parts, and the night six parts.
06:20The sun then begins to shorten the day and lengthen the night, returning to the sixth portal for thirty mornings.
06:28After thirty mornings, the day decreases to eleven parts, and the night increases to seven.
06:33The sun moves to the fifth portal in the east for thirty mornings, then sets in the fifth portal in the west.
06:41This pattern continues, with the day decreasing by two parts and becoming ten parts, while the night becomes eight parts.
06:49The sun rises from the fifth portal, then returns to the fourth portal, maintaining equal day and night for thirty-one mornings.
06:57It continues this cycle through the third and second portals, each time altering the balance of day and night, until the year completes its cycle of three sixty-four days.
07:10Uriel also showed me the laws of the moon.
07:13The moon's circumference mirrors the heavens, and it travels in a chariot driven by the wind.
07:19The moon's phases change each month, and its light varies, becoming full on the fifteenth day, and waning thereafter.
07:27It follows a complex pattern, rising and setting through the same portals as the sun, but in a different rhythm.
07:35The moon rises with a fourteenth part of its light, growing until the fifteenth day when it is fully illuminated.
07:43It then begins to wane, reducing its light in a precise sequence.
07:48This pattern repeats, with the moon completing its cycle in alignment with the sun, ensuring that the years are accurately measured.
07:56Uriel showed me the positions and movements of all the luminaries, including the sun, moon, and stars.
08:05Each luminary follows a prescribed path, fulfilling the commands of the Lord of Glory, who set them to rule the heavens and the earth.
08:13The angel Uriel revealed twelve portals in the circumference of the sun's chariot, from which rays of the sun break forth, spreading warmth across the earth.
08:24He also showed me the portals from which the winds and dew emerge, the intricate system that governs the cycles of day and night, and the seasons.
08:34In total, there are twelve portals for the sun, moon, and stars, each contributing to the order of the cosmos.
08:44Through these portals, the celestial bodies maintain their courses, as commanded by the Creator.
08:50Uriel explained the interactions between these bodies, ensuring that the balance of light and darkness, warmth and cold, prosperity and desolation is maintained.
09:04Finally, Uriel revealed the complex interplay of the winds, which blow from twelve portals at the earth's edges.
09:11These winds bring various conditions, from blessings and prosperity, to desolation and destruction.
09:18The east wind brings drought and heat, while the middle portal of the east brings rain and fruitfulness.
09:25The north winds bring cold and snow, while the west winds bring a mixture of conditions.
09:31Thus, the laws of the heavens were revealed to me, Enoch concluded, showing how each celestial body and force of nature follows its appointed course, ensuring the harmony and balance of creation.
09:49In those days, the angel Uriel spoke to Enoch, saying,
09:53Behold, I have shown you everything, Enoch.
09:57I have revealed to you the mysteries of the sun and moon, the leaders of the stars of heaven, and all those who govern their tasks, times, and movements.
10:08Uriel continued,
10:09In the days of the sinners, the years shall be shortened, and their seed shall be slow to grow on their lands and fields.
10:17All things on the earth shall alter and not appear in their appointed times.
10:22The rain shall be withheld, and the heavens shall withhold their bounty.
10:28In those times, the fruits of the earth shall be delayed, and will not grow in their proper season.
10:34The fruits of the trees shall also be withheld.
10:37The moon will alter her order, and will not appear at her appointed times.
10:43In those days, the sun will be seen journeying in the evening on the extremity of the great chariot in the west,
10:50shining more brightly than usual.
10:52Many chiefs of the stars shall transgress their ordained order, altering their orbits and tasks,
11:00and they will not appear at their prescribed seasons.
11:03The entire order of the stars shall be concealed from sinners, causing confusion among those on the earth.
11:10They shall err in their understanding, and take the stars to be gods.
11:14Evil shall multiply upon them, and punishment shall come upon them to destroy all.
11:21Then Uriel said to Enoch,
11:25Observe these heavenly tablets, and read what is written upon them, and mark every individual fact.
11:31Enoch observed the heavenly tablets, reading and understanding everything that was written.
11:38He read the book of all the deeds of mankind, and of all the children of flesh that shall be upon the earth to the remotest generations.
11:47Forthwith, Enoch blessed the great Lord, the King of glory, forever, for creating all the works of the world.
11:55He extolled the Lord for his patience, and blessed him because of the children of men.
12:01Afterward, Enoch said,
12:05Blessed is the man who dies in righteousness and goodness,
12:09concerning whom there is no book of unrighteousness written,
12:13and against whom no day of judgment shall be found.
12:17The seven holy ones then brought Enoch, and placed him on the earth before the door of his house.
12:24They said to him,
12:25Declare everything to your son Methuselah,
12:28And show all your children that no flesh is righteous in the sight of the Lord,
12:33for he is their creator.
12:36We will leave you with your son for one year,
12:39so you may give your commands,
12:41teach your children, record for them, and testify to all your children.
12:46In the second year, we shall take you from their midst.
12:50Let your heart be strong,
12:52for the good shall announce righteousness to the good.
12:54The righteous will rejoice with the righteous and offer congratulations to one another.
13:00But the sinners shall die with the sinners,
13:03and the apostates shall go down with the apostates.
13:06Those who practice righteousness shall die because of the deeds of men,
13:11and be taken away because of the doings of the godless.
13:15With these words, the angels ceased to speak to Enoch.
13:19He returned to his people,
13:21blessing the Lord of the world.
13:24Enoch continued his teachings to his son Methuselah,
13:29sharing the profound knowledge he had acquired.
13:32And now, my son Methuselah,
13:35I recount all these things to you and write them down for you.
13:39I have revealed everything and given you books concerning all these matters.
13:44Preserve these books, my son,
13:47and ensure they are delivered to the generations of the world.
13:50I have imparted wisdom to you,
13:54your children,
13:55and the generations to come.
13:57This wisdom surpasses human thought.
14:00Those who understand it shall not sleep,
14:03but will listen attentively to learn this wisdom,
14:06finding it more pleasing than the finest food.
14:08Blessed are all the righteous.
14:14Blessed are those who walk in the way of righteousness,
14:17and do not sin as the sinners do.
14:21In the reckoning of all their days,
14:23the sun traverses the heavens,
14:26entering and departing from the portals for thirty days,
14:29accompanied by the leaders of the stars.
14:31There are four additional days intercalated,
14:35dividing the four portions of the year,
14:38leading and entering with them.
14:40Owing to these days,
14:42men shall be at fault,
14:43failing to reckon them accurately in the whole year.
14:47They shall not recognize them correctly.
14:50These days belong to the reckoning of the year
14:53and are recorded forever,
14:55one in the first portal,
14:56one in the third,
14:58one in the fourth,
14:59and one in the sixth.
15:00The year is completed in three hundred and sixty-four days.
15:05The account thereof is accurate
15:06and the recorded reckoning is exact.
15:10Uriel, the holy angel,
15:12has shown and revealed to me all about the luminaries,
15:15months, festivals, years, and days.
15:18Uriel, to whom the Lord of the whole creation of the world
15:22has subjected the host of heaven,
15:24has shown me everything.
15:26He has power over night and day in heaven
15:31to cause the light to shine upon men.
15:34The sun, moon, stars,
15:37and all the heavenly powers
15:39that revolve in their circular chariots.
15:41These are the orders of the stars
15:45set in their places,
15:46in their seasons, festivals, and months.
15:50The names of those who lead them,
15:51ensuring they enter at their appointed times,
15:54are as follows.
15:56There are four leaders who divide the four parts of the year,
15:59Milchiel,
16:00Helemelech,
16:01Melayal,
16:02and Norel.
16:03After them,
16:04there are twelve leaders of the orders
16:06who divide the months.
16:08For the three hundred and sixty days,
16:10there are heads over thousands
16:11who divide the days.
16:14For the four intercalary days,
16:16there are leaders who divide the four parts of the year.
16:20These heads over thousands
16:22are intercalated between leader and leader,
16:24each behind a station,
16:26but their leaders make the division.
16:29In the beginning of the year,
16:30Melchiel rises first and rules.
16:33He is named Tamini and the sun,
16:36and all the days of his dominion
16:38while he rules are ninety-one days.
16:41The signs of the days during his rule on earth
16:44are sweat,
16:45heat,
16:46and calm weather.
16:47All the trees bear fruit,
16:49leaves sprout on all the trees,
16:52wheat harvests,
16:53rose flowers,
16:54and all field flowers bloom,
16:56but the trees of the winter season wither.
17:00The names of the leaders under him
17:02are Berkael,
17:03Zelibsel,
17:04and another head of a thousand named
17:06Hilu-Joseph.
17:08Their dominion comes to an end,
17:10and Helimelech,
17:11the next leader,
17:12whom one names the shining sun,
17:14rises.
17:15All the days of his light are ninety-one days.
17:19The signs of the days on earth during his dominion
17:22are glowing heat and dryness.
17:25Trees ripen their fruits,
17:27producing all fruits ripe and ready.
17:29The sheep pair and become pregnant.
17:32All the fruits of the earth are gathered in,
17:34and everything in the fields,
17:36including the winepress,
17:38is harvested.
17:38The names of the leaders and their orders during this period
17:43are Gedaljal,
17:44Keel,
17:45Heel,
17:46and an additional head of a thousand named Asphail.
17:50Their dominion too,
17:51comes to an end.
17:54Now,
17:55my son Methuselah,
17:57I will show you all my visions which I have seen,
18:00recounting them before you.
18:01I saw two visions before I took a wife,
18:06each quite unlike the other.
18:08The first vision came when I was learning to write,
18:10and the second came before I took your mother.
18:13It was a terrible vision.
18:15I prayed to the Lord concerning these visions.
18:19As I lay down in the house of my grandfather,
18:22Mahalalil,
18:23I saw a vision of the heavens collapsing
18:25and being borne off to fall to the earth.
18:28When it fell,
18:29I saw the earth swallowed up in a great abyss.
18:33Mountains were suspended upon mountains,
18:36hills sank into hills,
18:38and high trees were torn from their roots
18:40and hurled down into the abyss.
18:43A word fell into my mouth,
18:45and I lifted my voice to cry aloud,
18:48The earth is destroyed.
18:50My grandfather Mahalalil woke me
18:52as I lay near him and asked,
18:55Why do you cry so, my son?
18:57Why do you make such lamentation?
18:59I recounted to him the whole vision I had seen,
19:02and he said,
19:03A terrible thing you have seen, my son,
19:05and of grave moment is your dream vision
19:08as to the secrets of all the sin on earth.
19:11It must sink into the abyss
19:13and be destroyed with a great destruction.
19:16Now, my son, arise and make petition to the Lord of glory,
19:20since you are a believer,
19:21that a remnant may remain on the earth
19:23and that he may not destroy the whole earth.
19:27My son, from heaven,
19:28all this will come upon the earth,
19:30and upon the earth there will be great destruction.
19:34After that, I arose and prayed,
19:37implored, and besought the Lord.
19:40I wrote down my prayer for the generations of the world,
19:43and I will show everything to you,
19:45my son Methuselah.
19:46When I had gone forth below and seen the heaven,
19:50the sun rising in the east,
19:52the moon setting in the west,
19:54and a few stars,
19:55I blessed the Lord of judgment
19:57and extolled him
19:58because he had made the sun
19:59to go forth from the windows of the east,
20:02ascending and rising on the face of heaven,
20:05and traversing the path shown unto it.
20:08I lifted my hands in righteousness
20:11and blessed the Holy and Great One,
20:14speaking with the breath of my mouth
20:16and with the tongue of flesh
20:17which God has made for the children of men.
20:20He gave them breath,
20:22a tongue and a mouth to speak.
20:24Blessed be thou, O Lord King,
20:27great and mighty in thy greatness,
20:29Lord of the whole creation of heaven,
20:32King of kings and God of the whole world,
20:34thy power, kingship and greatness
20:36abide forever and ever.
20:38and throughout all generations thy dominion.
20:42All the heavens are thy throne forever
20:44and the whole earth thy footstool
20:46forever and ever.
20:48For thou hast made and thou rulest all things
20:51and nothing is too hard for thee.
20:54Wisdom departs not from the place of thy throne
20:57nor turns away from thy presence.
21:00Thou knowest and seest and hearest everything
21:02and there is nothing hidden from thee.
21:05Now the angels of thy heavens are guilty of trespass
21:09and upon the flesh of men abideth thy wrath
21:13until the great day of judgment.
21:15Now, O God and Lord and great King,
21:18I implore and beseech thee to fulfill my prayer
21:22to leave me a posterity on earth
21:24and not destroy all the flesh of man,
21:27making the earth without inhabitant
21:29so that there should be eternal destruction.
21:33Now, my Lord, destroy from the earth
21:35the flesh which has aroused thy wrath,
21:38but establish the flesh of righteousness
21:40and uprightness as a plant of the eternal seed.
21:45Hide not thy face from the prayer of thy servant, O Lord.
21:49After this, I saw another dream
21:53and I will show the whole dream to you, my son.
21:58Enoch lifted up and spoke to his son Methuselah.
22:02To you, my son, I will speak.
22:04Hear my words and incline your ear
22:06to the dream vision of your father.
22:09Before I took your mother Edna,
22:11I saw a vision on my bed.
22:14Behold, a bull came forth from the earth
22:16and that bull was white.
22:18After it came a heifer
22:19and along with this heifer came two bulls,
22:22one black and the other red.
22:24The black bull gored the red one
22:26and pursued him over the earth
22:28until I could no longer see the red bull.
22:31The black bull grew
22:32and the heifer went with him.
22:35Many oxen proceeded from him,
22:37resembling and following him.
22:39The first cow went from the presence
22:41of the first bull to seek the red one,
22:43but found him not.
22:44She lamented with great lamentation over him
22:48and sought him.
22:49I looked until the first bull came to her
22:52and quieted her,
22:53and from that time onward she cried no more.
22:57After that she bore another white bull,
23:00and after him many bulls and black cows.
23:04In my sleep I saw that white bull grow
23:06and become a great white bull,
23:08from which many white bulls proceeded.
23:10They resembled him
23:11and began to beget many white bulls,
23:13one following the other.
23:15Again I saw with my eyes as I slept.
23:18I saw the heaven above,
23:20and behold a star fell from heaven.
23:22It arose and pastured among the oxen.
23:25After that I saw large black oxen,
23:28and behold they all changed their stalls,
23:30pastures and cattle,
23:32and began to live with each other.
23:33Again I saw in the vision
23:36and looked towards heaven,
23:38and behold many stars descended
23:40and cast themselves down from heaven
23:42to the first star.
23:44They became bulls among those cattle
23:46and pastured with them.
23:49I looked at them
23:50and saw,
23:51and behold,
23:52they all let out their privy members
23:54like horses
23:54and began to cover the cows of the oxen.
23:57They all became pregnant
23:59and bore elephants,
24:01camels,
24:02and asses.
24:03All the oxen feared them
24:05and were terrified of them.
24:07They began to bite with their teeth,
24:09devour and gore with their horns.
24:12They began to devour the oxen,
24:15and behold,
24:16all the children of the earth
24:17began to tremble and quake before them
24:19and flee from them.
24:21Again I saw how they began to gore each other
24:25and devour each other,
24:26and the earth began to cry aloud.
24:29I raised my eyes again to heaven,
24:31and I saw in the vision,
24:33and behold,
24:34there came forth from heaven
24:35beings who were like white men.
24:38Four went forth from that place,
24:41and three with them.
24:43Those three who came forth last
24:45grasped me by my hand
24:47and took me up away
24:48from the generations of the earth.
24:50They raised me to a lofty place
24:52and showed me a tower
24:53raised high above the earth,
24:55with all the hills lower than it.
24:58One said to me,
24:59Remain here until you see
25:00everything that befalls
25:02those elephants,
25:03camels,
25:04asses,
25:04stars,
25:05and oxen.
25:06I saw one of those four
25:08who had come forth first.
25:10He seized the first star
25:11that had fallen from heaven,
25:13bound it hand and foot,
25:15and cast it into an abyss.
25:17Now that abyss was narrow,
25:19deep,
25:20horrible,
25:20and dark.
25:21One of them drew a sword
25:22and gave it to the elephants,
25:24camels,
25:25and asses.
25:26Then they began to smite each other,
25:28and the whole earth
25:29quaked because of them.
25:32As I beheld the vision,
25:34one of those four
25:35who had come forth
25:36stoned them from heaven,
25:38gathered all the great stars
25:40whose privy members
25:41were like those of horses,
25:43bound them hand and foot,
25:45and cast them
25:46into an abyss of the earth.
25:47One of those four
25:49went to the white bull
25:50and instructed him
25:52in a secret
25:52without his being terrified.
25:55The bull was born a bull,
25:57but became a man
25:58and built for himself
25:59a great vessel.
26:01He dwelt therein,
26:02and three bulls dwelt
26:03with him in that vessel,
26:05and they were covered in.
26:06I raised my eyes
26:08towards heaven
26:09and saw a lofty roof
26:10with seven water torrents
26:12flowing with much water
26:13into an enclosure.
26:14I saw fountains
26:16opened on the surface
26:17of that great enclosure,
26:19and the water began
26:20to swell and rise
26:21upon the surface.
26:23The enclosure was
26:24covered with water.
26:26The water, darkness,
26:27and mist increased upon it.
26:30As I looked,
26:31the water had risen
26:31above the height
26:32of the enclosure
26:33and was streaming over it,
26:35standing upon the earth.
26:37All the cattle
26:37of that enclosure
26:38were gathered together
26:39until they sank
26:41and were swallowed up
26:42and perished in that water.
26:44But the vessel
26:45floated on the water
26:47while all the oxen,
26:48elephants,
26:49camels,
26:50and asses
26:51sank to the bottom
26:52with all the animals.
26:54They perished
26:55and sank
26:56into the depths.
26:58Again,
26:58I saw in the vision
26:59till those water torrents
27:01were removed
27:02from that high roof,
27:03and the chasms
27:04of the earth
27:05were leveled up,
27:06and other abysses
27:07were opened.
27:08The water began
27:09to run down
27:10into these
27:11until the earth
27:11became visible.
27:12The vessel settled
27:14on the earth,
27:15the darkness retired,
27:17and light appeared.
27:18The white bull
27:20that had become a man
27:21came out of the vessel,
27:22along with the three bulls.
27:25One of them
27:25was white
27:26like the bull,
27:27one red as blood,
27:28and one black.
27:30The white bull
27:31departed from them.
27:32They began
27:33to bring forth
27:34beasts of the field
27:35and birds,
27:36producing different kinds,
27:38lions,
27:39tigers,
27:39wolves,
27:40dogs,
27:41hyenas,
27:42wild boars,
27:43foxes,
27:44squirrels,
27:44swine,
27:45falcons,
27:46vultures,
27:46kites,
27:47eagles,
27:47and ravens.
27:49Among them
27:49was born a white bull.
27:51The animals
27:52began to bite
27:53one another,
27:54but the white bull
27:54born among them
27:56begat a wild ass
27:57and a white bull
27:58with it.
27:59The wild asses
28:00multiplied,
28:01and the bull
28:02begat a black
28:03wild boar
28:04and a white sheep.
28:05The former
28:06begat many boars,
28:07but the sheep
28:08begat twelve sheep.
28:11When those twelve sheep
28:12had grown,
28:13they gave one of them
28:13to the asses,
28:15who in turn
28:15gave it to the wolves.
28:17That sheep
28:18grew up
28:18among the wolves.
28:20The Lord brought
28:21eleven more sheep
28:22to live with it
28:23and pasture
28:24among the wolves.
28:25They multiplied
28:26into many flocks
28:28of sheep.
28:29The wolves
28:29began to fear
28:30and oppress them
28:31until the sheep
28:32cried out
28:33on account
28:33of their little ones
28:34and complained
28:35to their Lord.
28:36A sheep
28:38saved from the wolves
28:39fled to the wild asses.
28:41I saw how the sheep
28:42lamented
28:43and cried,
28:44beseeching their Lord
28:46with all their might.
28:47The Lord of the sheep
28:48descended at the voice
28:50of the sheep
28:50from a lofty abode
28:52and pastured them.
28:54He called the sheep
28:54that had escaped
28:55the wolves
28:56and instructed it
28:57to admonish the wolves
28:58not to touch the sheep.
29:00The sheep went
29:01to the wolves
29:02according to the Lord's word,
29:03met another sheep,
29:04and entered the assembly
29:06of the wolves.
29:07They admonished the wolves
29:08not to touch the sheep
29:10henceforth.
29:11However,
29:12the wolves
29:12oppressed the sheep
29:13exceedingly
29:14with all their power
29:15and the sheep
29:16cried out.
29:18The Lord
29:18came to the sheep
29:19and they began
29:20to smite the wolves,
29:22causing the wolves
29:23to lament.
29:24The sheep
29:24became quiet
29:25and ceased
29:26to cry out.
29:28I saw the sheep
29:28depart from among
29:29the wolves,
29:30but the wolves' eyes
29:31were blinded
29:32and they pursued
29:33the sheep
29:34with all their power.
29:36The Lord of the sheep
29:37went with them
29:38as their leader
29:39and all His sheep
29:40followed Him.
29:41His face was dazzling,
29:43glorious,
29:44and terrible
29:45to behold.
29:46The wolves
29:47pursued the sheep
29:48until they reached
29:49a sea of water.
29:51The sea divided
29:52and the water
29:52stood on either side.
29:55The Lord
29:55led the sheep,
29:57placing Himself
29:57between them
29:58and the wolves.
29:59When the wolves
30:00saw the Lord,
30:02they turned to flee,
30:03but the sea
30:04gathered together
30:05and covered them.
30:07All the wolves
30:08who pursued the sheep
30:09perished
30:10and were drowned.
30:12The sheep
30:12escaped from the water
30:13and went into
30:14a wilderness
30:15where there was
30:16no water
30:16or grass.
30:18They began
30:19to open their eyes
30:20and see.
30:21I saw the Lord
30:22of the sheep
30:23pasturing them
30:24and giving them
30:25water and grass.
30:27The sheep
30:28that led them
30:29ascended
30:29to the summit
30:30of a lofty rock
30:31and the Lord
30:32sent it to the sheep.
30:35I saw the Lord
30:36of the sheep
30:36standing before them,
30:38majestic
30:38and terrifying.
30:40The sheep
30:40saw Him
30:41and were afraid.
30:43They cried
30:43to the sheep
30:44among them,
30:45We are not able
30:46to stand
30:46before our Lord
30:48or behold Him.
30:49The sheep
30:50that led them
30:51ascended the rock again,
30:53but the sheep
30:53began to be blinded
30:55and wandered
30:56from the way
30:56it had shown them.
30:57The Lord
30:59was exceedingly
31:00wrathful against them.
31:02The sheep
31:02that led them
31:03descended from the rock
31:05and found many
31:06of them blinded
31:07and fallen away.
31:08When they saw it,
31:10they feared
31:10and trembled,
31:12desiring to return
31:13to their folds.
31:14The sheep
31:15took others
31:16with it
31:16and began
31:17to slay
31:18the fallen sheep.
31:19The remaining sheep
31:20feared its presence
31:21and it brought them
31:23back to their folds.
31:24I saw in the vision
31:26until the sheep
31:27became a man
31:28and built a house
31:29for the Lord
31:29of the sheep,
31:30placing all the sheep
31:32within it.
31:33I saw till this sheep
31:34which had led them
31:36fell asleep.
31:37All the great sheep
31:39perished
31:39and little ones
31:40arose in their place,
31:42coming to a pasture
31:43and a stream of water.
31:45The sheep
31:46that had become a man
31:47withdrew
31:48and fell asleep
31:49and the sheep
31:50sought it
31:50and cried over it.
31:51I saw till they
31:53left off crying
31:54and crossed
31:55the stream of water.
31:57Two sheep arose
31:58as leaders
31:59in place
31:59of the fallen one.
32:01They led the sheep
32:02to a goodly place,
32:03a pleasant
32:04and glorious land
32:05where they were satisfied.
32:07The house stood
32:08among them
32:09in the pleasant land.
32:10Their eyes
32:11were sometimes opened
32:12and sometimes blinded
32:14until another sheep
32:15arose
32:16and led them
32:16all back,
32:17opening their eyes.
32:20The dogs,
32:21and wild boars
32:23began to devour
32:24the sheep
32:24until the Lord
32:26raised another sheep,
32:27a ram from their midst
32:29to lead them.
32:30This ram
32:31butted the dogs,
32:32foxes
32:33and wild boars
32:34until he destroyed
32:36them all.
32:37The sheep
32:38whose eyes were opened
32:39saw this ram,
32:40but it forsook
32:41its glory
32:42and began to butt
32:43the sheep,
32:44trampling upon them.
32:45The Lord sent
32:46another lamb
32:47to replace the ram
32:48and made it
32:49the prince
32:49and leader
32:50of the sheep.
32:52During all these events,
32:53the dogs
32:54oppressed the sheep.
32:55The first ram
32:56pursued the second,
32:58which fled before it.
32:59The dogs
33:00pulled down
33:01the first ram.
33:02The second ram
33:03led the little sheep.
33:04They grew
33:05and multiplied,
33:06while the dogs,
33:07foxes
33:08and wild boars
33:09feared and fled
33:10before it.
33:11The ram
33:12butted and killed
33:13the wild beasts,
33:14robbing them
33:15no more of anything.
33:16The ram
33:17begat many sheep
33:18and fell asleep.
33:20A little sheep
33:21became ram
33:22in its stead,
33:23becoming the prince
33:24and leader
33:25of those sheep.
33:26The house
33:27became great
33:28and broad,
33:29built for the sheep.
33:31A lofty
33:32and great tower
33:33was built
33:34on the house
33:34for the lord
33:35of the sheep.
33:36The house
33:36was low,
33:37but the tower
33:38was elevated
33:39and lofty.
33:40The lord
33:41of the sheep
33:41stood on the tower,
33:43and a full table
33:44was offered
33:44before him.
33:46I saw the sheep
33:47err again,
33:48going many ways
33:49and forsaking
33:49their house.
33:51The lord
33:51called some
33:52from among the sheep
33:53and sent them
33:54to testify
33:54and lament
33:55over them.
33:56One sheep
33:57was saved
33:58and cried aloud
33:59over the others,
34:00but they sought
34:01to slay it.
34:02The lord saved it
34:03and brought it to me.
34:05Many other sheep
34:06were sent
34:06to testify
34:07and lament
34:08over the others.
34:09After they
34:10forsook
34:10the lord's house
34:11and tower,
34:12they fell away
34:13entirely,
34:14and their eyes
34:15were blinded.
34:17The lord
34:17wrought much
34:18slaughter among them
34:19until they
34:20invited destruction
34:21and betrayed
34:22his place.
34:23He gave them
34:24into the hands
34:25of lions,
34:26tigers,
34:27wolves,
34:28hyenas,
34:29foxes,
34:29and all wild beasts,
34:31which began
34:32to tear them apart.
34:34I saw that he
34:35forsook their house
34:36and tower,
34:37giving them
34:37into the hands
34:38of the lions
34:39to tear
34:40and devour them.
34:41I cried aloud
34:42to the lord
34:43of the sheep,
34:44representing their
34:45plight,
34:46but he remained
34:46unmoved.
34:48He saw it,
34:49rejoiced that they
34:50were devoured,
34:51and left them
34:51to be devoured
34:52by the wild beasts.
34:54He called
34:55seventy shepherds
34:56and cast the sheep
34:57to them,
34:58commanding them
34:59to pasture the sheep
35:00and do everything
35:01he instructed.
35:02He delivered the sheep
35:04duly numbered,
35:05telling them
35:05which were to be destroyed.
35:07He called another
35:08and instructed him
35:09to observe
35:10and record
35:10everything the shepherds
35:12did,
35:12noting any excesses
35:14and destruction
35:14beyond his command.
35:16I saw the shepherds
35:18pasture in their season,
35:20slaying and destroying
35:21more than commanded,
35:23delivering the sheep
35:23into the hands
35:24of lions.
35:26The lions,
35:27tigers,
35:27and wild boars
35:28devoured the sheep,
35:30burning the tower
35:31and demolishing the house.
35:33I became exceedingly sorrowful
35:35because the house
35:36of the sheep
35:37was demolished
35:38and I could no longer
35:39see if the sheep
35:40entered the house.
35:42The shepherds
35:42and their associates
35:44delivered the sheep
35:45to all the wild beasts,
35:47each receiving
35:47a definite number.
35:49One recorded
35:50how many each destroyed,
35:52writing it in a book.
35:53Each one slew
35:54and destroyed
35:55many more than prescribed,
35:57causing me to weep
35:58and lament.
36:00In the vision,
36:01I saw one who wrote,
36:03documenting every sheep
36:04destroyed by the shepherds
36:06day by day
36:07and showed the whole book
36:08to the lord of the sheep.
36:11The book was read
36:12before the lord
36:13who sealed it
36:14and laid it down.
36:16I saw the shepherd's pasture
36:17for twelve hours.
36:19Three of the sheep
36:20turned back,
36:21entered,
36:21and began to rebuild
36:22what had fallen down.
36:24The wild boars
36:25tried to hinder them
36:26but failed.
36:28They reared up
36:28the high tower again
36:30and placed a table
36:31before it,
36:32but all the bread
36:32was polluted
36:33and not pure.
36:34The eyes of the sheep
36:36and their shepherds
36:37were blinded
36:38and they delivered
36:39the sheep
36:39in large numbers
36:40for destruction.
36:42The shepherds
36:42trampled
36:43and devoured them.
36:45The lord remained
36:46unmoved
36:46until all the sheep
36:48were dispersed
36:48over the field,
36:50mingling with them
36:51without saving them
36:52from the wild beasts.
36:54The one who wrote
36:55the book
36:55showed it to the lord,
36:57imploring him
36:58on behalf of the sheep
36:59and testifying
37:00against the shepherds.
37:02The lord took the book,
37:04laid it beside him
37:05and departed.
37:06I saw that
37:07thirty-five shepherds
37:09undertook the pasturing,
37:10completing their periods
37:12as the first did,
37:13with others
37:14receiving them
37:14into their hands
37:15to pasture
37:16for their period.
37:18I saw all the birds
37:19of heaven coming,
37:20led by eagles,
37:22devouring the sheep,
37:23picking out their eyes
37:24and devouring their flesh.
37:26The sheep cried out
37:28because their flesh
37:29was devoured.
37:30I looked and lamented
37:32in my sleep
37:33over the shepherd
37:34who pastured the sheep.
37:36I saw the sheep
37:37devoured by dogs,
37:39eagles and kites,
37:40leaving neither flesh,
37:41skin nor sinew
37:43until only their bones
37:44remained.
37:46Their bones fell
37:47to the earth
37:47and the sheep
37:48became few.
37:50Twenty-three shepherds
37:51undertook the pasturing,
37:53completing their periods
37:54fifty-eight times.
37:56Lambs were born
37:57by the white sheep,
37:59beginning to open
37:59their eyes and see,
38:01crying to the sheep.
38:03However,
38:04the sheep did not hearken,
38:06remaining deaf
38:06and exceedingly blind.
38:09Ravens flew upon the lambs,
38:11dashing them to pieces
38:12and devouring them.
38:15Horns grew upon the lambs,
38:16and the ravens cast them down.
38:19A great horn sprouted
38:20on one sheep,
38:21opening its eyes.
38:23It cried to the sheep,
38:24and the rams saw it,
38:26running to it.
38:27Despite this,
38:29the eagles,
38:30vultures,
38:30ravens and kites
38:31continued to tear
38:33and devour the sheep,
38:34who remained silent
38:35while the rams lamented
38:37and cried out.
38:38The ravens fought the sheep
38:40with the great horn,
38:41trying to break it,
38:43but failed.
38:44The eagles,
38:45vultures,
38:46ravens and kites
38:47gathered with the sheep,
38:49helping each other
38:50to break the horn
38:51of the ram.
38:52I saw a great sword
38:53given to the sheep,
38:54which they used
38:55to slay the beasts
38:56of the field.
38:58The beasts and birds
38:59fled before the sheep.
39:01I saw the man
39:02who wrote the book
39:03open it,
39:04showing the lord
39:04of the sheep
39:05that the twelve last shepherds
39:07had destroyed
39:08much more
39:08than their predecessors.
39:10The lord came to them,
39:12took the staff
39:12of his wrath,
39:14and smote the earth,
39:15causing it
39:15to split asunder.
39:17The beasts and birds
39:19fell among the sheep,
39:20and were swallowed up
39:21in the earth.
39:22A throne was erected
39:24in the pleasant land,
39:25and the lord of the sheep
39:26sat upon it.
39:28He called the seven
39:29first white ones
39:30and commanded them
39:31to bring all the stars
39:33whose privy members
39:34were like those of horses.
39:36They were judged
39:37and found guilty,
39:39cast into an abyss
39:40full of fire
39:41and flaming pillars.
39:43The seventy shepherds
39:44were judged,
39:45found guilty,
39:46and cast into
39:47the fiery abyss.
39:48A like abyss
39:50was opened
39:51in the midst
39:51of the earth,
39:52full of fire.
39:54The blinded sheep
39:54were judged,
39:56found guilty,
39:57and cast into
39:58the fiery abyss,
39:59burning there.
40:01I saw till the old house
40:02was folded up,
40:04and all its pillars,
40:05beams,
40:06and ornaments
40:06were carried away
40:07to a place
40:08in the south of the land.
40:10The lord brought
40:11a new house
40:11greater and loftier
40:13than the first,
40:14setting it up
40:14in place of the old one.
40:16All the sheep
40:17were within it.
40:18I saw all the sheep
40:19left,
40:20and all the beasts
40:21and birds falling down,
40:23doing homage
40:24to the sheep,
40:25making petition,
40:26and obeying them
40:27in everything.
40:28The three who had
40:29taken me before
40:30took me up again,
40:32along with the hand
40:33of the ram,
40:34setting me down
40:35among the sheep
40:35before the judgment
40:36took place.
40:38The sheep were all white,
40:40their wool
40:41abundant and clean.
40:43All that had been
40:44destroyed and dispersed,
40:46and all the beasts
40:47and birds
40:48assembled in the house.
40:50The lord of the sheep
40:51rejoiced with great joy,
40:53because they were all good
40:54and had returned
40:55to his house.
40:57I saw till they
40:58laid down the sword
40:59given to the sheep,
41:01returning it to the house.
41:02It was sealed
41:03before the lord,
41:04and all the sheep
41:05were invited
41:06into the house,
41:07but it could not
41:08hold them all.
41:09The eyes of all
41:10were opened,
41:11and they saw the good,
41:12with not one
41:14among them blind.
41:15I saw that the house
41:16was large,
41:17broad,
41:18and very full.
41:19A white bull
41:20with large horns
41:21was born,
41:22and all the beasts
41:23and birds feared him,
41:25making petition to him.
41:27I saw till all
41:28their generations
41:29were transformed,
41:30becoming white bulls.
41:32The first among them
41:33became a lamb,
41:35growing into a great animal
41:36with large black horns.
41:38The lord of the sheep
41:40rejoiced over it,
41:41and all the oxen.
41:43I slept in their midst,
41:45awoke,
41:45and saw everything.
41:47This is the vision
41:48I saw while I slept.
41:50I awoke and blessed
41:51the lord of righteousness,
41:53giving him glory.
41:54I wept with great weeping,
41:56my tears flowing
41:57because of what I had seen,
41:59for everything shall come
42:00to pass and be fulfilled.
42:03All the deeds of men
42:04in their order
42:05were shown to me.
42:07On that night,
42:07I remembered the first dream
42:09and wept.
42:10troubled because of
42:12the vision I had seen.
