00:00To get back to the right to the start, how did this all come about, this band, the name, everything? I'm intrigued.
00:06We all f***ed into each other, didn't we?
00:08I lived in Ramsey and I'd come out of my flat and I bumped into you, didn't I?
00:13We literally went, oh hey boy, what's it?
00:15And then, the week after, bumped into you, the same road.
00:19Is that why the name's called that?
00:21No, so the name's the Celtic myth, isn't it?
00:24Yeah, yeah.
00:25Vin McCool.
00:26Oh, so there's some context for that.
00:27Yeah, yeah, so it was a bit of, we were trying to think of her name.
00:30Yeah.
00:31I had a dream one night, it's always coming from my dreams, doesn't it?
00:35And, yeah, just seeing like a bird's eye view of the Isle of Man and then that led on to like, how did the Isle of Man get there?
00:43And then there's a myth that Vin McCool, an Irish giant, picked up a piece of the land, threw it into the Irish Sea, a stone's throw for him.
00:52We'd rehearse for like, two months, flat out, every week, every week, meeting up, doing, working on finishes, working on intros, working on solos, working on stoppy-starty bits.
01:03And I think that we all just locked in tonight.
01:05I think it was like a special, it was like a nice performance.
01:08It was nice, wasn't it?
01:09We all just, we all connect on stage and we all just vibe with each other.
01:12So I think that people feed off that when they're watching us perform as well, which I think is really nice.
01:16Tell us, how important is it for you guys to, are you guys encouraging the next generation almost?
01:20Of course, yeah.
01:21From someone who used to do it as a kid and being in a band and whatever, I think it's like so important to encourage younger people and they come and watch us do what we do.
01:29I remember one gig where there was this young person who was playing like an air guitar, gave her a guitar pick and she's still got this to this day and she's now in a band and she was a bit older.
01:38So it's like, yeah, so it's nice.
01:40How important is it for the Isle of Man that an event like this runs?
01:43Massively important.
01:44Yeah.
01:45So important.
01:46I think since Dark Horse sort of, you know, come to a, come to an end, sad end really.
01:53There was, there was definitely, you know, a hole left in, in the Isle of Man's sort of, you know, culture, especially around art and music.
02:01Like that's such a big part to the island, especially for me and I'm sure all of you guys.
02:06Yeah, 100%.
02:07Um, you know, we need to express that creativity.
02:10We need to keep creating and, and yeah, flying that flag.
02:14Every year this festival's grown.
02:16We've got an album coming out soon.
02:17We've only done three songs so far, but it's a work in progress.
02:21Uh, thanks to the Art Council for giving us the ground and making it possible.
02:24Wait, so they're all your own music and, uh, are they, can you give us the names of the three songs I'm intrigued?
02:30Uh, Down at the Beach, which will play tonight.
02:33Knock at the Door, which will play tonight.
02:35And, uh, College Attitude.
02:38College Attitude, which we didn't play tonight.
02:40Okay, so that's a little teaser.
02:41If you, if you were watching you guys tonight and you're desperate to see that last one, get along to your next gig.
02:46You go ahead and stay bleach.
02:57Hey, so we'll have a full training about this.
02:58Yeah.
03:00Alright, come on with the final six of the past.
