00:00Pac-Man is back, but with an insane glow-up that I was not expecting at all.

00:04The Yellow Hero is one of the most iconic video game characters of all time,

00:07and this new game from Bandai Namco takes the franchise literally to a whole new level.

00:11The classic arcade game has been thrown into the Metroidvania genre,

00:15and the result is a hardcore 2D action platformer

00:18that mixes elements from earlier Pac-Man titles and is super dark and gritty.

00:22You play a swordsman who wakes up in a mysterious maze by a yellow orb,

00:25looking suspiciously straight out of a classic Pac-Man game.

00:28This orb is a lot more powerful than he looks at first,

00:31and he can transform into a huge, power-hungry black shadow

00:34that easily devours complete enemies and objects.

00:37The game is called Shadow Labyrinth,

00:38and it's a gorgeous, bold reinvention with a creepy, dark atmosphere and vibrant colors that just pop.

00:44It's brutally difficult with razor-thin parry windows,

00:47unforgiving combat gauntlets, and deadly platforming segments.

00:50Definitely a very interesting concept that might redefine what future Pac-Man titles can be.
