Legal complaint targets family of DRC's Félix Tshisekedi for looting
A complaint was submitted in Brussels on Tuesday targeting nine family members of Félix Tshisekedi, the president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, as reported by La Libre. They face allegations of stealing from mines located in the southern provinces of Lualaba and Upper Katanga.

00:00A claim has been filed in Brussels against nine family members of Felix Chisekedi, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo,
00:10and accused who were Belgian nationals, press allegations of stealing from mines located in the provinces of Rualada and Apatakanga in the southern part of the country.
00:22Most names in the complaint include Chisekedi's sister-in-law, sons, brothers, cousins and even the first lady of the country.
00:31They are referred in the complaint as accomplices to acts of corruption and other criminal activities.
00:38The complaint was presented to federal prosecutor Anne Fonsen by lawyers Bernard and Briuk Maingeng on behalf of several NGOs from Katanga
00:49and four former directors of Gekamin, the Congolese state-owned mining company.
00:55The lawyers clarify that the nine individuals mentioned are not the only ones they accuse of theft.
01:01However, this complaint is focused solely on those with Belgian nationality who can be prosecuted in the country's legal system.
