00:00Good afternoon, Maharashtra. Ever wondered who is really running our state? Doctors,
00:08teachers, accountable decent lawmakers or goons with MLA badges? Hello, I'm Tejas and this is
00:14your Honest Dave on Lokmit Times. Today, we are talking about Sanjay Gayakwad, the Honorable
00:19Shiv Sena MLA from Bulldhana who thought democracy means slapping, punching and shoving your power
00:25down a canteen worker's throat because the dal smells bad. No, this is not satire. This is your
00:32elected representative in action. But before we jump to the Wrestlemania showdown at MLA guesthouse
00:37in Mumbai last night, please do subscribe to our channel if you haven't already and press the bell
00:42icon to never miss an update. Let's start. Monsoon session of legislative assembly is going on in
00:48Mumbai. Shinde Sena MLA Sanjay Gayakwad was staying at Akashwani MLA guesthouse on Tuesday night. He
00:55found out that the dal served to him by the canteen was foul. So as any responsible public
01:00representative would do, he vomited, got angry and then took it upon himself to deliver justice
01:06with his feasts. He slapped the canteen manager, he punched him, he abused him. He then forced the staff
01:12to sniff the dal themselves, declaring it poisoned. All of this happened openly on camera. While others
01:18stood by, some even enjoying the spectacle. And after using violence against a poor worker,
01:23Gayakwad stood in front of cameras and proudly said he had no regrets. Adding, I will do it again.
01:29This is Shusena style. Because in his world, assault isn't a crime. It's a style statement.
01:34Because in New India, MLA's can call themselves public servants while serving knuckle sandwiches
01:39to poor workers who can't even afford a day's leave. The video went viral. People were angry. Social
01:45media boiled over. But Sanjay Gayakwad, he is calm. He is proud. Because why not? Laws are for us,
01:51not for them. Now, if you think this is a one-off, let me remind you who Sanjay Gayakwad really is.
01:56In 2024, he announced 11 lakh reward for anyone willing to chop off Rahul Gandhi's tongue. Yes,
02:02literally. In 2024, caught on video beating men with a police baton during a Shiv Jayanti celebration,
02:09claiming he was protecting women. In 2021, he threatened to shove corona down the throat of
02:14then-leader of opposition, Devendra Padnavis. This man has a record longer than the MLA guesthouse
02:20dinner line. And we, the people, keep electing these men. A man who can't control his temper over
02:25Dal wants us to believe he will protect our interest in the assembly. A man who thinks violence is the
02:31Shiv Sena style claims to uphold democracy. A man who brags about beating a canteen worker on camera
02:37says he did it in the public interest. Is this what we have reduced public interest to? Is this the
02:43Maharashtra we want whereas a man's power is measured by how easily he can assault the powerless? Food
02:49quality at government facilities is a real issue. We get it. Contractors need to be held accountable.
02:55But since when did accountability come at the cost of a worker's dignity? What was that worker supposed
03:01to do? Slap back an MLA? File a police complaint against a sitting legislator with muscle and money power?
03:07This incident is not about stale dal. It's about stale politics, stale power and stale arrogance that
03:14rots democracy within. If our MLAs think violence is their birthright then maybe it's time we question
03:20whether such goons deserve to be our lawmakers. If an MLA can brag about assaulting a poor worker over
03:26food, imagine what he does when there is a real opposition. The next time someone tells you,
03:31MLA sahib is a tiger. Remember, it takes courage to speak for the people, not to beat up those who
03:37can't fight back. This was your honest take with me, Dejas. We will keep calling out these abuses of
03:43power no matter who it is. Until next time, remember, stay sharp, stay curious and never stop asking tough
03:49questions.
