A viral video of the boxers walking out quietly has sparked one question online: why the silence?
Transcript
00:00This video of Indian boxers returning from Kazakhstan went viral, not for the celebration,
00:05but for the lack of it. No media, no cameras, just champions walking through the terminal
00:09unnoticed. And the internet had one question, why isn't this being covered? Because what they
00:14returned with wasn't ordinary. At the World Boxing Cup in Astana, one of the key ranking
00:18events ahead of the final in Delhi this November, Indian boxers delivered their best ever performance
00:23at a single stage. It was a standout showing, especially from the women. Sakshi, Jasmine and
00:28Manupur, won gold in their respective categories, each overcoming tough international opponents
00:32in the ring. Several others came close. Meenakshi narrowly missed out on the 48kg final. Jugnu,
00:38Pooja Rani, Hitesh Kulia and Abhinash Jamwal finished with silver. Sanju, Nikhil Dubey and
00:43Narendra added bronze to the tally. The Kazakhstan leg followed India's sixth medal finish in
00:47Brazil earlier this year. Together, the two stages have marked a steady rise and growing
00:51momentum for Indian boxing ahead of the World Cup final in New Delhi. The clip from the airport
00:56may not have shown fanfare but it captured something else, the disconnect between effort and attention.
