Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) spoke about the Trump Administration's response to the deadly flooding in Texas.
Transcript
00:00Going back to President Trump, he and I spoke again this morning, and he could not stop
00:09talking about how sad he was for all the little girls who have lost their life.
00:17He recounted his own understanding of what happened with what was really a tsunami wave
00:23of a wall of water that swept too many of them away, and he cares a lot about those young
00:31ladies, and he wants to step up and make sure that any needs that we have here in Texas is
00:36going to be met very quickly, and he's already done that by helping to provide the quick assistance
00:43by sending down Secretary Kristi Noem, who, listen, I've been dealing with events like
00:50this for 10 years. Never have I seen someone respond as quickly and as effectively as what
00:57Secretary Noem did. Also, while coming over here, I received this text from Secretary
01:06Kennedy. It says the following. It says, Governor Abbott, it's Secretary Robert Kennedy. It says,
01:16we are set to declare a public health emergency for the Texas Hill Country flash floods. This
01:23will make it easier for health care and mental health providers from out of out of state to
01:29help both by traveling to the area and by telemedicine. Please, please let us know where we can be
01:36most helpful, which I will let him know. But I just wanted you to know about that new update.
01:42Now I would like to turn things over to the speaker.
