00:00Do you have a bunch of magnet tiles laying around your house?
00:02I certainly do.
00:03Here are three fun ways to play with them that don't involve construction.
00:06First thing you can do involves practicing the alphabet.
00:08Take a magic erase marker and write the uppercase letters on 26 magnet tiles.
00:13Write the lowercase letters on another 26.
00:15Then have your child match the big A with the little A.
00:18The second thing you can do, which is one of my kid's personal favorites,
00:21you make all the shapes you want using a bunch of different magnet tiles.
00:25Trace the outline.
00:26Take the magnet tiles away.
00:27Tape the paper onto the floor or another surface and have the children use the magnet tiles as puzzle pieces to fill in the trace shape.
00:35The third activity involves some painter's tape.
00:37Lay the tape on the floor.
00:39The child can use the magnet tiles to measure how long the tape is.
00:42And then they take a post-it note and write the number.
00:45I love these activities.
00:47They take up a lot of time.
00:48You can modify them based on how old your kid is.
