00:00We've always been clear as a government that those with the broadest shoulders should carry the
00:05greatest burden and if you look at some of the decisions that we have taken in the last year,
00:10be it the changes to capital gains tax, the changes to the non-DOM rules because we believe that
00:16even if you're born elsewhere but you live in the UK you should be paying your fair share of tax.
00:22We obviously applied higher taxes to private jets and we said to the 5% of parents who send
00:29their children to private school that actually they can't get the tax breaks on private school
00:34fees, the VAT tax breaks that they previously did so that we could invest that money in public services.
